Off the Vine Gardens Deli & Catering

This is one of those reviews I really hope the owner reads and responds to because I dont understand your business practice. If you have read my review of the Roxy Restaurant then the same thing happened here. Here is what happened. I worked out super hard down the street. I noticed this place was open around the corner, has breakfast and I had a coupon! Yes, I was on it. I called up a couple friends to meet me for some yummy sandwiches and I arrived first.
The place is very small, and there is no actual business sign, it just says deli. I walk in and it smells like fresh ingredients. OKay so far so good. The girl at the counter was new but said no coupons. I told her to please ask the owner. The owner comes and says no coupons, even though there is no expiration. OKay… so she won’t take 5 dollars off my order. So I say you lost my business and leave. With my friends we could of easily spent 50 bucks, and been repeat customers if all was good. I hope my five dollars you saved this morning was worth it.
I always try to go to mom and pop shops but when mom says no, its a no go. Oh well… guess she doesn’t need it.

I often come here for lunch and I have 0 complains! Great food and great service. I’d definitely recommend it if you need a quick bite to eat.

Great food and service. Reasonable pricing and friendly lunch time atmosphere.
Had the pastrami dip and the spouse had the Chef Salad, both great value.

Our first time at this incredible Deli. The service was Extremely friendly and efficient! The food was Freash & Fabulous! We understand that the present owners have breakfast there for the past two years! They definitely are doing a Wonderful job!

Great food and good value for your buck. The beef teriyaki special on Wednesday is my favorite. I go every Wednesday. The owners are very nice and friendly and the food quality is excellent. The Hoagie is a favorite sandwich also but everything has been great and worth the price. If you are working in the Carlsbad area you really should check this place out.

Great food and very friendly staff. This is my go to place for lunch! Highly recommend you stop by and try something from their delicious menu.

Good Mega Brkfst Burger. Had the pastrami dip, it was good. Down side it came on a hot dog bun. You must watch what they bill you. Ate here 3 times, did not receive a receipt any one of those times. Today, the burger was 6.50. Chips 1.00 so total 7.50 plus 0.64 tax. total of 8.14. They billed me 9.85 which I paid. Then went back to question them. Somehow could not find me in the «system» but yes they did give me the 1 dollar and 71 cents back. Good breakfast burger for sure. Just watch your money.

Um. I ordered a turkey sandwich with a little lettuce & got a lettuce sandwich with a little turkey. Not coming here again.

Love this place! I have only had a couple of things on the menu but the food never disappoints and the pricing is great. Everyone that works here is very friendly and they recognize me each time. They are always happy to customize any orders and work with you to make sure you’re satisfied.
Their catering is also a good value and everyone in the office was full with leftovers!
I would highly recommend.

The Deli is so amazing. I love the breakfast sandwhiches and the salads! The breakfast is always fresh and made to order. The salads are huge and the toppings are fresh. I appreciate the kind service the staff provides and look forward to eating here again soon.

Delicious, piping hot sandwiches and very friendly staff. The meatball sub was particularly good!

The food is consistently fresh and tasty. Love the Oriental Chicken Salad. The owners are very nice and friendly.

I’m a creature of habit. Once I find something I like, I go back. This place is definitely in my rotation. The new management has taken this place to a different level. The food, price and service are top notch. All my coworkers have given this place two thumbs up as well. My favorite items are the Teriyaki Beef, Pastrami Sandwich and the breakfast burrito.

Just amazing!!! I am completely addicted to the Asian chicken noodle salad! The portion is HUGE and so fresh and tasty! The dressing is amazing too! The service is the friendliest at this go to lunch favorite! They seriously know you by name I feel at home here!

Very fond of this place. The new owners have really turned it around. They’ve added some healthier choices along with some of the old favorites.

Full of fresh avocado and bacon, my club sandwich was ideal. If I ever need a quick bite in the area, will definitely come back!

Just had the meatball sandwich and on scale of 1 to 10 it was a 3. I had my hopes up because the staff was so nice and really enjoys working there but I really can’t recommend this sandwich.
To be fair I will go back and order a true deli sandwich and see what happens.

I love this place! It used to be JC Deli and was for many years. The ladies who now own this spot have taken the deli to a new level. So many delicious homemade items i.e. soups, salad dressings, etc. They have several hot dishes, sandwiches, subs, soups, salads, etc. How many local deli can claim that? I’ve had the curry chicken which is outstanding and a HUGE portion for a great price. My fiancé had the meatball sandwich (homemade meatballs and sauce). He loved it but I’m warning you since it’s so stuffed with meatballs it is messy but worth it! Today I am eating their homemade tuna salad sandwich on squaw bread and it’s to die for. The lady who owns it is so very sweet and welcoming. The service is above par. So nice to have it close by work, too.
Hey, if you need to swill a beer at lunch, they have that too!
