Jose’s Taco Shop

Happened to be in the neighborhood with some time to kill on a Sunday afternoon, and low and behold the only restaurant open out of several was Jose taco shop. My husband had the crispy beef taco, and I had the Carne Asada taco. Delicious! And nice service to boot.

Can’t go wrong with the breakfast burrito. It’s obviously in the food court for a reason. Don’t use the red sauce, it’s more oily than it is tasty. I know, sounds weird right? It’s not a lie, but what can you expect from a food court Mexican restaurant.

Pretty fast and very delicious! When asked just a regular California burrito for how long it takes, she said 2 min. It was exactly 2min. Thank you girls!
I definitely come and eat again!

Was walking around the Carlsbad Island and Jose’s was the only one without a line. I ordered a carne asada taco and a soda, price was low and the service was quick (stars for that). The young lady taking orders was pleasant as well. As I was waiting for my taco, I figured I would fill up my soda, little did I know I would have to dip dodge duck & dive all the bees. I couldn’t even get the one I wanted because a bee was kicking it on the nozzle.
Once I got my taco I headed back to work, excited to get something in my stomach. Took my first bite and could barely bite through the meat. I am not sure if I came on a bad day where the cook decided to just keep reheating the meat or if this was the norm at Jose’s. In either case, I’m sad to say I will not be coming back. It’s a shame because of the close proximity to my work, but I would gladly spend more time and money on better tasting food and not getting jumped by bees while trying to get a drink.

Terrible. Got the lady in front of me in line order wrong, then argued with her about how she ordered it. I ordered two beef tacos, simple right?! They gave me two chicken tacos. When I stated I had ordered beef tacos, she paused, then asked if I’d rather have chicken tacos. If I wanted chicken, I would’ve ordered chicken.
I’ll never go back here again. I wish I could leave less then 1 star
