Had a short-lived, terrible time at Passione tonight. As a party of 8, we made a reservation a week earlier at 8:30PM for my niece’s 16th family party. We arrived 30 minutes early and waited patiently outside the restaurant. However, at 9, the heavy manager mentioned by Amanda B. below told us to we wait 5 minutes. Understandable. Then, 30 minutes later, when we ask them why we aren’t seated, the heavy manager tells us that they’re busy during Saturday nights, which again is understandable, but then tells us that we came to the wrong restaurant. What are we supposed to take from that? Frustrated, we tell them we’re leaving, but as we leave, a different worker comes out of the door to tell us that there’s an opening, although no one has left the building. At this point, I start laughing because this whole situation is a complete joke. The perfect night we had planned for my niece was tainted by the horrible service of some Italian restaurant whose manager probably couldn’t run 2 feet to save his life.

Great Italian restaurant. I came here with a large group, and everyone was very happy with their meals. The restaurant is classy. Service was good. Great place for a group dinner.

Good food and very friendly staff. Our waiter was amazing and friendly. They bring out a few of three appetizers in the house to try and what a great marketing taster! Ended up ordering the rice balls after they did this. Been here several times and never disappointed Just request that they place more appetizers on three menu. Maybe fried zucchini. Just a thought. Will visit again.

Wow! Friendly staff, beautiful back room, wonderful food! The menu choices are vast. I was so excited to see spaghetti squash on the menu(I don’t ever recall a resturaunt having that on their menu). It’s call the Skinny Girl. It was delicious. I asked for garlic and oil instead of sauce. They were very accommodating. The bread that was placed on the table had different varieties. They also served ricotta with olive oil, butter and olives to go worth the bread. The olives could have been better quality but still a nice touch. Everyone in my party were extremely happy with their meals. Two of my friends ordered salmon and my other friend had the carbonara. After we were finished with our meal and paid we sat and chatted. We were not rushed and in Davy the waiter came over to refill our water glasses and brought us a fresh cold bottle of water. I can’t wait to return and was thrilled to see a Groupon for the resturaunt!

I’ve been coming since this place opened. The food tonight was horrible. Not only that, when we were walking out, the heavier manager who works in the front said to a waitress in front of a bunch of customers, «you look like a fucking pig, you work like a pig and the customers think you are a pig, you’re outta here, clock her out.» Then the customers sitting at the bar, got up and told the manager that’s not how you speak to someone. The manager then told the customers to chill out buddy and told them he was getting their food to go, they said no you aren’t touching my food.” What we witnessed was disgusting. I will never come back here just because of this situation and how that disgusting man speaks to woman and customers. He’s a pig! Also, just an update, every single person in my family got sick from the food!

Went with a long lost friend after 35 years to catch up on life… We went on a Friday night. Overly crowded at around 8pm. Host said 20 min for 2. It was more like 40min. We sat at the bar and had drinks catching up. The barmaid did not offer us anything for about 20 min even while she was clearing the spot in front of us at the bar. We finally waived her down, she gave me my drink but gave my friends Cosmo to the waitstaff for service. Finally came after another 10 min. It was not worth $ 20+ per drink. We finally were seated in the back room. The server was very attentive. He recommended the calamari, it was lightly fried with a kicky tomato base. No sauce. It was quite good. I ordered the papadella, had cauliflowers whole roasted garlic and raisins in a white sauce. It was tasty. The garlic R roasted to a sweet perfection. The cauliflowers we a little overdone for my taste. I’ve been here many times. Had my daughters birthday here a couple of years ago. They’ve always been very good and attentive but this time, I didn’t see the same managers and things were a bit chaotic. I really hope they get it together…

Overrated !! Overhyped !! Overpriced !! Save your time !! Go some where else !! 20 mins for drinks !! 30 mins for bread. 1.5 hr for main dish !! Besides the horrible wait time. The service was horrible. There was no attention given to us. Another observation was, there was more attention given to the Caucasian customers. Manager came by and never gave an apology after we told him the main dishes havent arrived. 1st and last visit.

Horrible management, Danny told us there was a 30 minute wait which was good. The place was not busy but we ended up waiting over an hour and ten minutes and then the manager gave away our table. He used the excuse they had reservations. Then he said it is what it is with an attitude. Very unprofessional. He just lost a couple hundred dollars from our table. Do not go to this please unless you want to get screwed!!! Also careless management has no clue about peanut allergies, when we asked they responded«I don’t know but I’m not going to play doctor». As a manager and a human being your suppose to know these things it’s the law!

Passione is an excellent italian option in an area with many alternatives. The menu is excellent. I went twice for lunch in a 10 day period. I had the cheese ravioli along with the baked ziti during two visits. The food quality, portions, service and price were all very good. I plan on exploring several menu items in the near future.

I came here a few weeks ago for a pre-Christmas family dinner and we had a great time. Food: 5 stars on the food! Apps– to start we ordered the fried calamari(classic version) and beet salad. Both were great. Dinner– everyone ordered one of their homemade pastas. WOW it was amazing. The homemade rigatoni was so perfectly aldente, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Also lots of creative pasta dishes. Drinks: a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. I got red sangria, which came in a huge glass with big slices of fruit. It was strong and delicious. Service: our waiter was great. He took great care of us throughout the meal. At the end we asked him to take a picture of all of us. He was so happy to do so and even recommended we stand in front of this painting across the dining room. Honestly he took this review from 4 to 5 stars. Other: I read the reviews before I came(duh) so I had a bit of bias about the management. Tbh, they were a bit confused when we showed up and we stated our reservation(made on open table), but we waited like 2 mins. Also I did see the manager yell at 2 of his employees(1 which ended up being our waiter) and throw a bunch of straws and napkins on the floor(lol.?). But I may not have thought anything of it if I hadn’t read those reviews first. All in all great, and based on my experience I would definitely recommend this place

Love the food but don’t order take out unless you want to pay more than what the online menu states! I asked the total cost and the male employee stated the menu is not up to date. I ordered a pizza pie and appetizer for lunch on a Sunday.

WORSTSERVICEEVER, and all we wanted was a pizza. I ordered at 5:30, and by 6:45 I called to see the status. The man who answered the phone said«delivery guy hasn’t returned yet to pick up your order». SO I called again shortly thereafter, and got the same reply. I asked what would become of my soon to be cold pizza sitting and waiting for the delivery man. The reply I got was«We didn’t even MAKE your pie yet, we can’t send out a cold pizza!» Well that’s admirable, but now after ordering a pie while in NYC and arriving back to LI and still waiting for it, I can say I will never give this place a chance again. I’ll make sure to pass the word along to all my fellow busy mom’s and friends. Horrible experience.

THEBESTITALIANRESTAURANTONLONGISLAND!!! The food is AMAZING and the staff is TOPNOTCH! They actually make their macaroni FRESH! Ask any other restaurant where they get their pasta and they’ll tell you it comes out of a fuggin box. They have a great bar if you want to grab a quick drink before you sit down(THEBESTSANGRIAIVEHAD) and the drinks are actually normal prices!!! Some of the other restaurants in the area have RIDICULOUS drink prices so I was glad when I found this spot. It’s an AWESOME place to bring a date or the entire family. Every time I’ve been here the wait staff made us feel like we were at home. Five stars all the way. I’ll definitely be back ASAP.

The only reason I am giving this restaurant 2 stars is because I liked the outside of the restaurant, it was very luxurious looking, and because our waitress was nice. But no, that does not mean we received good service. So first of all, aren’t Italian restaurants specialized to take care of large crowds? We were a party of 8. We received the WORST service that I have received in a very long time. No one came over until 20 – 30 minutes after we sat down. Then we ordered about 3 drinks and water for the table, which took forever. Put it this way– we sat down at exactly 8:15, and did not leave the restaurant until 11:15– not because we had such great company/conversation. Then it took forever to flag down the waitress to take our food order. We ordered appetizers, then the waitress didn’t come back to take the order for a while and again we had to flag her down again. Of course the appetizers took such a long time and it was just 2 pizzas and salad, and then we ordered food finally. The food took such a long time that my uncle literally had to go back there and figure out what was going on. Finally it came, and mine was cold. I’m not sure about all of the other dishes. My uncle ordered chicken in his gluten free pasta. Of course my uncle didn’t receive the chicken in his pasta and was super pissed because he was starving, then just to get his chicken it took 20 minutes. I ordered the rigatoni Theresa. It was a rigatoni in a pink sauce with chicken and spinach. I was not happy with it. It was so watery, and tasted watery and flavorless. There was a decent amount of chicken, but the chicken had a terrible taste to it, but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Do not order that. Our waitress was nice, but the restaurant was not busy, the room we were in was empty, so I don’t know what made her so slow. I just don’t understand these restaurants that overcharge severely but can’t give good service to a table spending over $ 300 on a meal. I wouldn’t come back here, I’d rather eat at Red Lobster next door.

We sere starving after extricating ourselves from the Hell that is Roosevelt Field on a Sunday in the summer. Just wanting decent Italian food without bending over backwards, we spied Passione and decided to give it a try. No, this isn’t the best Italian restaurant you’ve ever been to, but nor is it the Olive Garden. The food is pretty good and the portions are massive and the service is adequate. It’s not worth going out of your way to eat here, but you could certainly do worse.

My regards to Charlie, the manager, and the«crème de la crème» servers Carlos, Michael and the new guy in training. This place is a gem amongst many restaurants in the area. I came to this location on a Thursday evening to meet with friends for dinner. I was greeted immediately by Charlie the manager. I had informed him I was a little early and was waiting on two friends, he invited me to have a seat at the bar or if I preferred in the lobby. As my guest arrived, Charlie geared them in my direction then lead us to our table in the dining room. We where immediately introduced not to one, not two but three servers who would be assisting us through the evening. These servers however are truly«crème de la crème.» Knowing the menu inside and out, describing in detail the flavors, and answering any questions we had. Meanwhile, Carlos kept us well entertained throughout the evening with great conversation and really top notch service. The experience my friends and I had at this restaurant was way above par in comparison to the restaurant we have tried in the area. Not simply was the food phenomenal from the appetizers(chef special of the evening crispy arrabiata calamari, the rice balls, and the thin crust pizza), to the main course items(pescatore di napoli*****, the lamb, and the homemade pasta). Just when we thought the evening was coming to an end, Charlie invited us to try the pineapple infused vodka that is prepared on premise. We are glad we did… overall the night was epic because of these guys. (I was surprised to find negative reviews for this location however I can assure you that this is not the case… give this place a try you will not be disappointed)!

I had takeout and didn’t dine in so can’t comment on the dining experience The portions were good even if it is a bit pricey. I really enjoyed their fried calamari appetizer, but for takeout the sauce would be better on the side so that it doesn’t get soggy. I also like that they have whole wheat pasta options, as that’s what I usually look for first. There are a couple nights where there are lower-priced deals(Mondays and Tuesdays?) so I may dine in one of these days for one of those. I would give another star if not for the fact that I find it expensive for the area when I can get much cheaper in the area. (I had either a grubhub or delivery or seamless coupon and that’s why I gave this place a chance.)

We came here for lunch on a weekend. Prices are the same as the dinner menu, so not so great for just lunch. First off we had a waiter that we didn’t care for. I asked for a grandma slice with spinach and he said I couldn’t have just one slice they would have to make me a personal pie. When I walked up to the pizza counter the other waiter said of course I could have just had a slice and didn’t need to order a personal pie. Then they brought out a flat bread with mozzarella and spinach. NOT a pizza. Not what I wanted. The seafood pasta was bland. They gave us a complementary rice ball to try. Definitely not as juicy and tasty as Fanatico’s. Theirs was moist with sauce and not greasy and hard like Passione. The Manager was nice enough to add more sauce on it. I’ve been to the other stores: Emilio’s and Fanatico. Both are excellent. I was embarrassed that I suggested to my friend that we eat at Passione. I won’t be back here again.
