The food is very good. Don’t let the three star reviews fool you. If you skip lunch when you go for dinner, you will get the best bang for your buck. I love this place but does not top my favorite sushi place. But it can come pretty close. I love this place.

Buffet is a buffet… only been here during lunch hours… since weekend dinners are so packed… usually. variety is fairly limited but they refill everything pretty quickly. Service has always been good there when I’ve been there.

Treated my mom to this place for lunch after our morning hike. I used to come here with my family when I was little and I remember that we loved it here. However, I haven’t been back here for almost a decade. There’s a HUGE selection of sushi and they are all so fresh! Everything is so clean and beautifully presented. However, I felt like a lot of stuff was a little dry such as the steak and the chicken wings. The pork dumplings weren’t crispy. They tasted kind of weird. I wasn’t too impressed by their selection of food because a lot of it is fried. You can have the chef make you udon, ramen or soba noodles. I ordered the udon which was good but the shrimp tempura were super soft and soggy. Another thing is that the music is a bit loud and doesn’t really go with the whole Japanese vibe. EDM at a buffet? Kind of strange. What I really came for was the dessert! Damn that stuff is good! From the tiramisu to the green tea ice cream. The tiny cakes are also super spongy and soft. I love the green tea and strawberry cakes. I ate 4 of them lol. I love cake so much!!! I can’t remember the last time I had an asian cake that tasted so good! The fruits are really good as well and very fresh. I’m not that into sushi but if you are, I’d definitely recommend coming to this place.

We stopped here on Monday night and were seated right away. It was a big place, busy but not overcrowded. The server explained the sections of the buffet to us which I appreciated(never had a buffet server do that before). There was a large selection to choose from in each section with most dishes containing seafood. They have a wide variety of sushi rolls and sashimi to choose from in generous portions. They also have a hibachi grill, the steak and scallops were delicious but we didn’t realize they would give us so much(probably better to indicate if you want a small portion). The green tea soft serve did not live up to what I had hoped :(We spent over $ 100 on the weeknight dinner for 2 and a bottle of wine. Overall we enjoyed but we probably will not frequent because it is on the expensive side.

Pretty decent Asian buffet, but pricey for what you get. Large variety, but lots of fillers. The sushi selection is large, but the quality is questionable. There are some interesting and non-standard rolls that are cool to try. I went for an early lunch on a weekday and the place was pretty empty. As a result, there was little turnover on the line and many times looked like it had been left out too long. Their broths for the udon and ramen are watered down and lacking in flavor. The best thing might have been the salt and pepper fried fish. In Southern California, this buffet would not be worth more than $ 10 for lunch or $ 12 for dinner. Most of the Asian buffets there far surpass this one.

I never order from the regular menu here if I come here it’s for the buffet. I love their wide selection of different meats, seafood, and veges. They are also pretty good about restocking the food and keeping it fresh. The desserts are alright but you should definitely go to the crêpe machine after your dinner as it’s the only great part of the dessert buffet. The sushi varies but some of the stuff they put out in that department is pretty good also. Not a place you go to every week but here and there it hits the spot

I was excited to try this place since reviewers compare it to Mizumi and I really liked Mizumi. The food was good. I wished they had Kalbi like the Koreans make it. Their green tea ice cream tasted like vanilla with green tea powder. It’s better than mizumi’s green tea froyo. Bleh. The sushi here is good. I wished they had a more various fruit section.

Sushi, salads, soups, fish, squid, clams, beef, and chicken etc are found here. Lots of food to choose from. Best ones: medium rare beef in teriyaki sauce and the fried sushi with jalapeño pepper. Sometimes the beef ribs do not fall off the bones-it is a hit or miss. There is a cook who will make a Lo mein dish with your raw ingredients. Salmon with rice sushi was a disappointment– Salmon was just borderline. The cod fish, gray sole, blue fish were dried-over done. The salmon with scallion on skewers were overdone. Kale with seaweed salad was fresh. Dessert-I guess no one was available to make your pre selected fresh crepes during the Memorial Day luncheon. The mango pudding, green tea cake, and red velvet cake were fresh. The lychee jelly looked good. Ice cream-vanilla is the better choice. stay away from the green tea ice cream that tasted like fish for awhile until they clean out their equipment. Restrooms were had sticky a bit slippery floors-walk gingerly. Dining area-clean and well lit. The volume for the Music could’ve been lowered-too loud. Weekend and holiday lunch price $ 21.95 plus tax and tip per person as of now.

OMGOMGOMG. Sushi galore. There must have been over 30 variety of rolls. I was shopping in Roosevelt Field Mall and had a taste for sushi. I searched Unilocal and this place came up with high reviews. I usually don’t do buffets because the food quality generally speaking is low. I was highly impressed with Minado! I started with sushi rolls, 1 of each to see what I liked. Honestly they all tasted similar. I know I didn’t like the one with cream cheese. The rolls were so neatly displayed it was heavenly to look at! Next I had the crab legs. So fresh! I sprinkled fresh lemon on them. The oysters were ok nothing special. From the hot bar I had steak, fried rice, lo mien, and vegetable dumplings. The dessert section was heavenly also. Tons of fresh fruit, cakes, cookies, and also green tea ice cream(they had vanilla too). Overall I was highly satisfied. I will definitely return.

Not really a buffet person. But this buffet is definitely one of the best withing 15miles. Mostly Japanese food. lots of sushi choices. Will be back when craving for lots of Japanese food fusion at the same time.

I will start by saying i am NOT a buffet person. But my bf’s coworker put him on to this place(also very picky eater) and he was impressed. So we show up and there was a huge line waiting for this place to open. Note only open for lunch and dinner not open all day. We walk in to get seated and this place is huge. Tons of tables and waiters. The food is great. You have everything from fried food, hibachi, soup station, salads, a huge sushi & sashimi area as well as dessert station. The cleaning ppl are consistently cleaning off the counters. The trays are always full. There is food for anyone in your household from seafood to meat. Definitely a place to try out its like a hidden gem.

I love going here. A little on the pricey side, but how can you complain, it’s an all you can eat that serves so many different types of sushi. And don’t get me started on their hot entrees. Well worth the trip. The establishment is very clean. I even noticed that they switch the serving plates and utensils quite frequently. In fact so frequently, I lost count as to how many times they did it. For the hour I was there.

Minado is one of my favorite Japanese buffets. The quality has been consistent for all these years and they have great variety. My favorites are their speciality rolls, the fact that they serve sashimi, crepes, and crab legs! Make sure if you want butter, you ask from the waiters. They don’t have a self serve butter. They’re very clean and food is replenished quickly. They even swap out the serving tongs at a constant rate. They’re busy during peak dinner times, so be prepared to wait.

Minado is a superb buffet-restaurant which is one of a kind in this area. They have 5 very grand rows of food containing, seafood, exotic Asian salads, a plethora of sushi, fruits, and desserts. There is more than ample seating here even during their busy lunch hours. I would recommend coming here for the lunch as the price is about $ 17 as opposed to the dinner buffet which ranges from $ 32 – 34. It’s not the cheapest option for an everyday lunch but the quality of the food more than compensates for it. Most of their seafood and sushi individually would end up costing about $ 20 or more if you ordered them a la carte at another restaurant. This is not your average buffet! Minado is a haven for seafood enthusiasts, providing an excellent variety of fish(my favorites being White fish and Basa fish) and the best sushi I have ever tasted. Even their salads are quite exquisite(unlike the platitudinous Caesar salad). In similar fashion, the dessert section is lined with savory selections such as coconut cookies, green tea ice-cream, jellos, and fresh fruit. The restaurant is saturated with gastronomic delicacies; much more than I can write about in this post. Minado is a hidden gem, an absolute must try!

This place has been one of our favorite AYCE Japanese buffets. We’d been here multiple times for various celebration during its prime(like 13 years ago). When our children were growing up, coming here puts sparkles to their eyes. We stopped coming as it becoming overrated. Today we opted to spend our Valentines day luncheon here as we were heading to the close by Roosevelt Field mall. It has never changed its settings. What I love most here is the selections of their sushi and sashimi. Each kind is hand prepared at its finest by the chef. Fresh as expected. Their salad bar is next on my list. Stylish presentation, freshness looks and taste. The hot Buffett, the dessert bar and the hibachi seems old fashion. The new thing for me as from my last visit is the ramen serving in their soup bar. They have the«tonkutsu or udon» choice. I did not like my tonkutsu much as I have a high standard for ramen after visiting Queens and NYC ramen houses(I know I should not compare). And the other new thing, oh yeah, it’s price has significantly increased.

Came here for the 2nd time over the weekend for lunch. Highly recommend this buffet place! The place is pretty big inside, got seated right away. Prepare to eat a lot! They have a variety of sushi rolls here and the fish is all fresh. Besides sushi, they have other food as well, soup, lots of different fish, bbq, noodles, crayfish(which seemed popular because it was all gone at one point), mussels, clams… They have a great selection of desserts as well– tiramisu, cheesecake, small cups of lychee jelly and melon jelly, green tea ice cream(too bad I was too full I didn’t get to eat the ice cream), etc. The price is reasonable, would definitely come back.

Very slow with the oysters and crab legs. If you have a line forming that is a sign you are slow with your food. People are paying a premium to eat at your restaurant and making them wait for certain type of food is unacceptable. I think they are doing it on purpose so they can limit the amount of high cost items to their customers.

Excellent seafood buffet place. I think I tried almost everything. I liked that they offered sushi as well as sashimi. Sometimes, you only want the raw fish! I really liked the spicy tuna roll. I don’t remember all the rolls I tried, but I liked all of them, except the uni, but I hear that is an acquired taste. They have snow crab legs. They were very good. There’s a limit of 5 legs per dish, which many patrons disregarded, so it took me a while to finally try one. Of the hot foods, I definitely recommend the beef teriyaki and the short ribs. They were so good. Also, I recommend trying the beef tataki. I’m impressed at how they are able to maintain quality when cooking in large quantities. The desserts are heavenly. My favorite was the tiramisu. I liked that they had green tea soft serve ice cream. They also have a crêpe station, which I should take advantage of the next time I’m there.

3.5 stars if I could, but I can’t. Over the course of a few years, Minado has taken a turn from a «great restaurant» to a «good» one. While the variety of sushi here is «seemingly huge», the majority of them are just variations of Kani(imitation crab meat). The maki rolls are layered with so much sauce that it’s difficult to taste the rest of the ingredients. There are still a lot of redeeming qualities about this AYCE sushi buffet such as soba/ramen/crêpe/oyster+crab legs. But to say that it has been on par with what it was like in the past, is a bit of a reach.

I had a great time at the NJ location a few years back for dinner. When I found out there’s one out on LI too been wanting to try it for a while since I moved out here. We arrived quite early for lunch for a family of 4. The place is quite spacious for a restaurant but I do feel its smaller than its NJ counterpart. However being that it was so close to open time the place was no well near being filled up yet. As far as the food goes they are pretty much identical for what they have. However I did noticed that there are less hot food available at this location and really the cold salad a bunch of trays were just taking up spaces such as the wasabi, ginger, sauces, etc that can easily fit in smaller containers to the side. The sushi offerings are plentiful however and I suspect that’s what most people are going for here outside of crab legs at dinner time. It would be nice if they have sashimi only choices though but overall the food is great. If you don’t visit buffets much I would definitely recommend try focusing on the cooked fish and seafood as those have been my favourite at this buffet place. The halibut was done quite well and I was going back for more just for that. The desserts had a lot of variety as well although I didn’t find any particularly too remarkable other than the ice cream. The soft-serve ice cream is definitely on the level of Mitsuwa and other Japanese style ice creams Service was good as the server to customer ratio was quite high and I expect the majority of the crowd come for dinner as they have even more offerings. The restaurant is kept really in good shape and clean however unlike the typical all you can eat Asian buffets, being a Minado/Nori nori chain I expected that :) Honestly I would recommend the dinner despite the higher prices($ 21.95 vs $ 32.95) as you get the full buffet experience and make your dining even more special. I do think the lunch, while good, didn’t left me the amazing memories that I had when I visited the Little Ferry NJ location few years back.
