Spektacles Optometry & Eyewear

My husband and I both recently had our eyes examined at Spektacles in Cardiff. We are first time customers at this facility.
First impression — very friendly staff. I invested nearly $ 900 for exam and new glasses. I wear progressive lenses. My glasses came back and the correction for the reading and computer is great; however, I am not able to see the television or driving clearly. I called to let the office manager know of disappointment and I’m scheduled to go back for a reevaluation.
I will come back report my final experience with this company. The end result is what will matter in the long run.

I work with beach cities lock and key and believed that I had a piece of metal in my eye from cutting a key. Michelle Kim seems like a very nice and thorough optometrist. The staff scheduled me quick and looked in my eyes and let me know nothing was in it. And checked for a couple other things and said my eyes were ok. Years ago I did have a small sliver of metal in my eye that had to be removed. Fair price too Recommend them.

I had a great experience at Spektacles. The shop is beautiful and the selection is great. I visited the store specifically to see their selection of Moscot eyewear, but they carry a wide variety of brands.
Elizabeth was incredible in helping me to select frames, I really valued her honesty in choosing a frame that was suited for my face. Dr. Kim is extremely personable and knowledgable. Deciding on frames can be a daunting decision, but they both made it very fun and straightforward. Everything from selecting frames to dealing with insurance was a breeze. I can’t wait to go back for another pair soon!

Love this place! The staff and doctors are super nice and they helped me find my first pair of Oliver Peoples glasses that I am obsessed with! What brought me in was their awesome selection of glasses and sunglasses. I think we all have our difficulties finding the right frame for your face and here I had a couple choices that I was interested in, which is usually pretty rare for me. Looking forward to coming in more and having my husband also start coming to them for all our eye needs :)

5 stars! why? 1) STAFF — they are friendly and knowledgeable. it was easy to book an appointment, they answered my insurance related questions and everything was processed smoothly 2) EXAM — I was walked through every test, felt comfortable and even learned things about my eyes that I didn’t know after years of eye exams. the Dr. is personable, relatable and very knowledgable 3) GLASSES/​FRAMES — they have the best selection of glasses here, especially if you’re looking for high quality frames. the staff helped me decide which glasses to purchase, which i loved! Bottom line, they are really helpful — they know what looks good for your face shape and they can sense what you like/​dislike and eliminate styles within minutes. Picking out glasses can be tough, and you want to make a good decision! Spektacles makes it easy, and at the end of the day you’ll walk out with a great exam and a pair of glasses you’ll love. I would definitely recommend them!!!

I love Spektacles (outside my phone auto-​correcting the name constantly as I type this review). I have been looking for a good eye doctor for a while in San Diego and finally found one. Stoked.
The doctors and staff and Spektacles are flat out awesome. Everyone is personable, smart and organized. I can’t recall the last time I had an appointment that went more smoothly. From scheduling, friendly reminder call, to showing up and just walking in to my appointment. Awesome.
On top of the eye exam experience, Spektacles has to have one of the best selections of contemporary glasses around. I am used to a store that is 70% styles that are way out of my age group, whereas here most of the glasses on the shelf I would actually wear. I easily found 5 pairs I loved, the hard part was picking one. They also carry a bunch of sunglasses I like and ultimately ended up purchasing.
Finally the logistics of having an appointment, getting a prescription, filling a prescription and getting glasses. Again, awesome. Insurance went smooth, getting the glasses went smooth. I got exactly what I wanted. Exactly. I love that.
At the end of the day, Spektacles is one of those businesses that has everything dialed in and the result is an awesome customer experience. I plan on getting my glasses here for a long time.

This place is great I been there with both my kids and they understand my budget. I almost never give full stars that means perfect. This place is they straight talk and the glasses are all high end fashion.

I can’t comment on Spektacles for their eye exams as I still go somewhere else… but I am considering making the change to Spektacles just based on my initial experience shopping there!
I specifically went to Spektacles a few months ago because they are one of the few stores that carries Masunaga glasses (a japanese company that fabricates all their glasses from raw materials entirely within their factory). Well, the Masunaga glasses didn’t fit my flat face too well, but overall, Spektacles carries a top notch collection of glasses and I was really pleased with their selection. They have the best brands which are curated very stylishly and tastefully… not gaudy crap like my current eyecare provider – who keep trying to push those weird, artsy Elton John style glasses on me, which I absolutely hate!
Seriously, if you are in the market for some frames, check this store out.
**note: the frames that appealed to me were a bit hipsterish and I thought the selection was great, but I did overhear an older customer say the glasses were too nerdy looking for him!

Visited for my eye exam at the beginning of the year and was extremely pleased with the service. Dr. Kim did my eye exam and was very sweet. Her and the receptionist even helped me pick out some new eyeglasses that I love. I will definitely be calling to make my next appointment soon.

I was shopping with my family and walked by Spektacles. I walked in and made an appointment with the friendly receptionist. I saw Dr. Kim, who was very kind and skilled (I have a stigmatism) in doing my eye exam. They have a nice selection of frames and I got a new and modern pair of glasses (overdue from my old and out of fashion glasses). They took my insurance and my wife bought a pair of sunglasses. Great service and location. I’d recommend this business for the quality care, service, and products.

One of the best business/​customer service trips I have had in years. I met with Dr. Kim who was friendly, thorough and professional. Location is convenient right next to Seaside Market. This was my first eye exam in years, but from what I could tell the equipment seemed very current if not brand new (I was told they just opened in December 2011). As far as price range I am going to say moderate, only because my insurance covered the lot of it, and as far as the glasses prices I saw, they looked on par to what I would imagine is industry standard. Oh, not to forget, the lady who works in the front was also extremely helpful and professional. I really had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

These guys are fabulous. Friendly, professional staff. No guilt trips (even though I was WAY overdue for new contacts and declined to have my eyes dilated). They take Saturday appointments and insurance. Dr. Kaczanowski is great — she explained everything well and really knows her stuff. They have all the newer equipment — no more puffs of air! Even though they’re fairly new there were no organizational issues — I had an appointment and didn’t have to wait at all, they had my contacts in stock… in short they had none of the problems I’m used to dealing with at LensCrafters. I’m really stoked I found them.
