This is a pretty standard Walmart. It’s always pretty clean, and the staff members have never been anything other than friendly. It’s pretty well stocked most of the time, and there’s usually enough cashiers working where checking out isn’t too big of a problem. I have had a problem more than once however with finding expired food on the shelves. I agree with another review on here– check twice before you buy.

What would Carbondale do without Walmart. There would be nowhere else to go for a one stop shop. Kroger is okay for groceries, Schnucks is overpriced, and that only leaves Walmart. And then I can go to electronics to get my movies, sporting goods for my running gear, pharmacy, you name it. The associates are friendly and the new self checks are the way to go for me. I have always supported the store and always will. The only thing they don’t sell that I like is under armour and Adidas.

I bought a tube of toothpaste there last week. Today, when we went to use it, it was all oily, with this yellow slime oozing out everywhere. Gross! «Is it from the peroxide?» my partner asked, just as I saw that it had a 2004 expiration date. 2004. It’s 2012 right now. Obviously, they don’t check their stock very well. Stay away from the Colgate Baking Soda & Peroxide Whitening Brisk Mint Paste, that’s for sure. Check the expiration date on EVERYTHING.

Do you want to visit a convenient location where you can find all the dregs of society mixed into one spot? Come to Walmart! This place is ridiculously difficult to leave. Not that exiting the store is hard, but getting out of the parking lot is annoying. Traffic coming in from the highway has the right of way, and turning left(or going straight, if you take the exit closer to the store) is a serious pain in the butt to get out. I really with the city would make this less terrifying experience. As for inside? The prices are deceptively high. DVDs are horrifically overpriced. Soda is too high(you can usually find it cheaper at a grocery store). Random doodads are the same price as other stores without the moral reprehensibility of how they treat the employees. Go to Target.
