Food is good, service to gringos is definitely different than for Mexicans — that fact is very acknowledged in the Roaring Fork Valley. Tonight, for example, a Mexican family ordered take-out at least 5 minutes after we did and received their food at least 5 minutes before we did. Not a huge deal, but it is a factor every time we go(went) there. My biggest problem is that they almost NEVER have rice for carry out. I like their tortillas, beans, and rice A LOT(very good) but they have had rice available once out of the last six times I’ve been there. My daughter likes their enchiladas, so I always cave in and get something else, but it’s always disappointing. For example the tortas I got tonight was burned and pretty flavorless. If I wanted a tortas I’d go to Tacqueria El Nopal — they serve the best tortas around hands-down. Anyway, I was bummed enough tonight to tell my daughter enough-is-enough, and it was the last time I will be giving Garcia’s any more money.

This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in years. The place looks sketchy on the outside, but the food is great and the people friendly.
