So I left this tip regarding the no-longer-in-business restaurant ‘Manasco’s Bar-B-Q & Steakhouse’: «If this is the restaurant between Oakman and Tuscaloosa, it’s been closed for years. Maybe someone should consider deleting it from this site.» Later, I received this email: Hey Bob, Loved that tip you left for Manasco’s Bar-B-Q & Steakhouse! With a few more details you could expand your tip into a full blown review! Your additional insights could help more people learn what’s great(and not so great) about this business. Cheers, — The Unilocal Team OK. Here’s my review: Called the restaurant, which isn’t in the phone book anymore(because they’re closed), to make a reservation for this weekend. Didn’t get an answer(because they’re closed), so figured it would be OK to just show up. Arrived there around 7PM. Boy, was I pleased to see there were lots of places to park(because they’re closed). Got a nice spot right near the door, exited the car, and proceeded to go to the entrance. The place was pretty dark(because they’re closed), so I figured they must have some good subtle lighting, you know, to bring out the romantic atmosphere of the place. The door was kind of stuck shut(because they’re closed), but I managed to yank it open and proceed inside to find a table. Well! Let me tell you, that place was a mess! As my mother used to say, ‘A respectable hog wouldn’t go in there!’ Dark!!! It was so dark, I stepped in a hole in the floor that like to broke my leg! It was a good thing I had my cell phone with the flashlight app to light my way, or I might not’ve ever made it out! Nobody came to see if I was OK, or to show me to a table, or nothing! I’ve been thrown out of better places than this, so I yanked my leg up, turned right around, and left that place without even saying a ‘goodbye’ to anyone!(because they’re closed) They have certainly lost my business, as I doubt I will grace their front door with my presence ever again(because they’re closed). Thank you, Unilocal, for giving me this opportunity to air my gripe with this establishment, and for so carefully reading my original ‘tip’ regarding ‘Manasco’s Bar-B-Q & Steakhouse’. Love, Bob
