Dear James(mgr/owner?) and Capitola Toys & Hobbies, you must have family members writing your reviews because being the only«game» in town for RC’s — not ones we have our dogs chase after — but REALRC’s, that cost quite a bit for avid fans, you are worthless. You basically never have any parts in and if you do, your salespeople have no clue as to what they’re doing. And they don’t seem to care in the least. Instead of driving over the hill to, Sheldon’s Hobbies, which literally gets hundreds of my hard earned money, I try once again to stay local. I went in for a Servo Saver, as common as going into a tackle store and expecting to get your lewers there and the disinterested salesman started digging through different boxes filled with random parts — it was like he was shuffling through a junk drawer hoping to find a safety pin. Finally he says that you’re out but he could order one for me and it would be in on Friday 6⁄5. I am totally disappointed but go ahead and do it. What happened when I came in? Well, there was trouble with ordering, says the salesman. Not with the delivery but with the ordering. Great! I will never go there again. It’s fine, maybe for«Toys», just take off the«Hobbies» part in the store name unless«Hobbies» refers to the Hobby of looking for something that just ain’t there.

Each time I’ve looked for a model, they’ve been able to order it. I’ve gotten nothing but great service from each employee and they’ll take the time you need to help you find certain items. Great location, I’ll be back!

Awesome guys who helped me pick out the perfect RC car«monster truck» for my dog to chase at dog park. I can’t recommend them enough. They know us… know what we need… always helpful and friendly. Easy to find, good parking right next to Trader Joe’s in Capitola. Love the selection of fun stuff in there… and I am not even the kind of person who goes to toy stores hardly at all. Love it!

Needed a birthday gift & found a cool rocket here. Ryan the sales associate was friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. He even gift-wrapped it it for me! I would definitely go back and recommend this shop to anyone who needs models, RC stuff, trains or cute toys in general.

I love this place. I spend a lot of money on my hobby and Johnathan the manager is all ways eager to bench race or talk. He also is very intune to what the hobby world is doing. He can get you anything you need and they are very helpful at all times …

A great local hobby shop — they have/can order anything you want. They have a great selection of toys, gliders, etc as well as train/plane/boat modeling materials and kits. I prefer to buy materials rather than kits, and they never pushed anything more expensive on me. More importantly, they’re happy to help out with advice and share their enthusiasm. A great place if you’re looking for modeling stuff or some unique toys. I highly recommend it.

Hey Mike, This is the guy who bought his truck online and doesn’t know anything about it. I think that is what I was referred to my buddy who was trying to shop at your store. You decided to pull my users manual out of my box and not return it after not fixing my truck. I’m not writing this to bash your store but to help you be successful in your future business ventures, not from me or any of my friends but to new customers. 1.Dont bad mouth customers to other customers 2.No Job is to little because what pays your business is repeat customers and referrals to other people on how great of a job that you do. 3.Dont make promises you cant keep and don’t waste people precious time. If you cant squeeze a 20 min job in the day just say no you cant.{ Thats how long it took me to put the tires and speed controller in} 4.Put on a happy face and seem a little excited to help someone that uses your services and building a future business relationship with them. Hopefully this will open your eyes a little and see that the economy will most likely get worse and to have consistent clients is a blessing to get you threw the rough times. Just to let you know me and all my buddies are young successful business types and we spend lots of money on stupid toys very often. So it was a shame we couldn’t work together. We will all make the drive to DJ Hobbies where the stock is good and people treat you with respect. Feel Free to keep the manual so you can have one at the shop for people who come in and have questions. Thanks
