So glad we decided to give this a try instead of DQ! Much better tasting, creamy delicious ice cream. Also had froyo, low fat and other options. Definitely worth a trip!

Almost passed this up, daunted by the line. Glad I didn’t. I actually needed the time to take in all of the flavors on the board. 9 of us all enjoyed our various cones. For $ 3.50 cash only, we received generous heaps of creamy goodness! Staff were pleasant and quick moving, making the wait in line go pretty quickly.

Great local, homemade ice cream, floats and yogurt. Lots of flavors, fast service and large proportions. Cash only — ATM located directly outside. This was a nice alternative to the DQ and Ben & Jerry’s.

Great ice cream! I highly recommend stopping in when you visit Cape May. We wandered in one night after strolling up and down Washington Street after dinner. It was so good, I found myself back in the next night sampling another flavor! I had the salted caramel pretzel and the s’mores ice cream.

This place is so cute. We almost stopped in the dairy queen next door before noticing this adorable shop. The ice cream flavors were plentiful and I had to try 4 before making my decision. I got one heaping scoop of S’mores ice cream and left satisfied. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area!

So many ice cream shops on Washington Street from Kohrs Bros, Dairy Queen, Ben and Jerry’s and others. how do you choose? Well, I would recommend staying away from the ordinary brands(that you could get anywhere else) and head right on over to Uncle Charley’s! The fact that there is a line at Uncle Charley’s considering all the ice cream shops is a sure sign that this is good ice cream. There are so many flavors to choose from that it can certainly be a bit overwhelming. The employees were very patient with me and let me try a few flavors. I ended up with Peanut Butter Pie and Dulce de Leche. The Peanut Butter Pie tasted like peanut ice cream with big chunks of a Reese’s type cookie(I don’t believe it was Reese’s brand). Let talk about the Dulce de Leche. I’m Argentinian and I know dulce de leche. Most American places get it wrong and label caramel and dulce de leche but they are distinct. This Dulce de Leche was done absolutely right! The ice cream with smooth and creamy with big swirls of dulce de leche(not caramel). A home run in my book. A small costs about $ 3.5(I can’t remember exactly) and includes two huge scoops of ice cream. This size small could easily be confused with a medium. I also like how you are able to get two flavors with the small size. Double the fun! There are many tables and chairs outside to sit and enjoy your ice cream. Also it’s a great spot to people watch as Washington Street is always busy. Thanks Uncle Charley for a great ice cream experience in Cape May!

Not really loving it Uncle Charlie. I have an Uncle Charlie, and I’m pretty sure that he could make better Ice Cream.

I have such childhood nostalgia for this place. The ice cream is tasty, the scoops are generous, and the establishment has a friendly vibe. I came right after lunch on a particularly warm day. Got two generous scoops of moose tracks(they have a sugar-free and low-carb version!) on my single cone for $ 3.50. Can’t go wrong with Uncle Charley’s.

Better ice cream than Kohr’s and much better service. My husband I both enjoyed our delicious ice cream cones after lunch here at Uncle Charley’s. We can’t wait to come back!

Wow… that’s all I can say. Amazing selections of varying kinds of ice cream. This place has all the ice cream you can imagine from your staple favorites like vanilla, chocolate and orange sherbet, to really cool blends like peanut butter chocolate and low calorie style ice cream. They also have soft serve. Best part of this place is the service and scoop size. One scoop is like 3 scoops, all for the price of $ 4 bucks! I actually commented on how large their single scoop is and the server actually told me that they pride themselves on giving the biggest scoops in Cape May. Extra bonus points right there. For the kicker, they also have unique cones, such as chocolate chip ice cream cones, sprinkle cones, and other delightful cone variations besides your basic sugar, waffle and wafer cone. Stop by you will not be disappointed!

I don’t even know you but I love you Uncle Charley!!! We came by Saturday night post dinner as I was seriously craving sweets. The place was crowded but the servers were attentive and moved quickly. I chose the chocolate peanut butter cup frozen yogurt in a chocolate chip cookie cone. GOODGOD was that amazing. The chocolate was rich, but didn’t leave a funky after taste in your mouth. It had swirls of peanut butter PLUS mini peanut butter cups. The chocolate chip cookie cone was freshly made and totally hit the spot. The hubs had orange sherbet and loved it. Said it was creamy, refreshing, and smooth. No weird ice crystals. Mmmmm.

Meh, it’s okay. Came to Uncle Charley’s this afternoon for some ice cream– I ordered a small bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream(I think it was $ 3.50−4.50), and my mother ordered a small bowl of piña colada sorbet. The selection of flavors was quite big, so I will give them that. There were a few tables inside in the air conditioning, but since it was a nice day, we sat in one of their tables outside so that we could people watch. A few of the tables had umbrellas, which was convenient for midday. When we were sitting down in the table, a snotty-looking kid walking down Washington Street yelled«ICECREAM! I WANTICECREAM!» while pointing at my bowl. I smirked at him and reveled in my ice cream acquisition. The ice cream was light and fluffy, in a good way. However, something was missing– I don’t know if it needed more chocolate chips, or maybe just more flavor overall. My mother’s piña colada sorbet wasn’t bad, but it had a slightly odd taste of fake sugar. Didn’t bother me when I was stealing a taste from her, but I probably wouldn’t have been able to eat a scoop of it. Overall: prime location, nice outdoor seating, large flavor selection… but less than stellar ice cream and sorbet. I’m not sure I’ll be back.

Four stars for the huge selection of ice cream, sorbet, sugar-free, and yogurt. Ice cream was very creamy. I had my favorite, chocolate peanut butter. My husband had moose tracks. Not every shop has these flavors so we were happy! There’s lots of competition for ice cream in this town, but I’d say this place is one of the better for variety. Hope this helps!
