Well… I may not be as «experienced«as some of those who posted… but I can tell you the entire experience was great. My wife and I did the«Victorian Couples Spa» package… private room.20 min jacuzzi soak followed by a 50 massage with Marya and Hope. Incredibly relaxing and well worth the cost. Cheese platter, chocolates and tea afterwards. Looking forward to coming back. Great start to the long Valentine’s Day Weekend.

I’ve been to the Cape May Day Spa several times for massages and facials. I’ve always had an amazing experience and left feeling amazing & relaxed. Today I had a massage with Hope and she was extraordinary. She was very polite and professional and asked me a bunch of questions to make sure she could accommodate me. Definitely ask for Hope when you come in for a massage! I was pleased with the fact that I was able to choose an aromatherapy to add to my session, it was a nice touch! The spa is dimly lit with soft music playing throughout. It’s instantly relaxing. Upon completion of your service you are led to a relaxing lobby room where you can have tea or water and prepare to again face the real world :) I would totally recommend the Cape May Day Spa, and if your budget allows it try the Victorian Retreat option!

My wife got a massage there this weekend. She said: Holly did a great job. The spa was well maintained and she felt very pampered by the staff. It was a great experience. She will definitely be back!

I received a massage here recently as part of a gift from my mom. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect since some of the reviews aren’t too kind, but I’m SO glad I came. Barb, the spa manager, came to greet me when I walked in. She was courteous and polite and made me feel very welcome and relaxed. The ambiance of the spa is so relaxing as soon as you walk in; the scent, the lightning, the music, the calm demeanor of the staff. It’s such a great atmosphere! My massage therapist, Linda, worked away on my body, focusing on my lower back, just as I had requested. Afterwards, I enjoyed some tea while I finished relaxing in the lounge room. Overall great experience. I will definitely be back!

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this Spa. My husband and I have been going to Cape May on Thanksgiving weekend for 16 years. We have been including a spa visit for the last 14 years. We stay at Congress Hall and get our spa treatments at the hotel spa called Cape May Sea Spa. That’s right three letter word difference from Cape May Day Spa. This year I inadvertently made a reservation at the wrong spa, a complete phone number mistake. A week before our visit I called the spa to add an additional service. They explained my treatments weren’t in the system, but since we were loyal customers they would add us to the schedule immediately. Out trip was great and so was our spa experience. Upon arriving home I received a phone call from Barb at Cape May Day Spa. She said we never showed up for our appointments and she charged my credit card for the full price of all the treatments scheduled. I was sooooo very upset. The amount was almost $ 400. I explained the mistake, apologized and asked if there was something we could do. Barb was rude even nasty and basically said too bad. When I asked to speak with the owner, she told me he wasn’t in and didn’t know when he would be. When I asked her for his name, she refused to give it to me. I called several times begging for some compassion. This is a trip that my husband and I save for all year. This amount would be a hardship on our finances. I begged and pleaded. I asked if they would meet me half way, I asked for a discount, something. Again, Barb was so rude. I must have gotten on her nerves enough that she told me I could fax a letter over and she would give it to the owner. I sent the letter and he agreed to credit my card for $ 180. I was extremely appreciative, even though I thought the credit could have been larger, but was thankful for any credit. This unfortunate mistake could hve been handled so differently by BARB. Although a horrible situation I could have walked away happy to recommend this spa due to great customer service, instead I not only wouldn’t recommend this spa I would strongly suggest you stay away.

I suppose it really depends on what you’re looking for. As for me and all eight of the people I brought with me to spend some time relaxing before my wedding, we were extremely disappointed. First, we were the only people in there that morning and we were all excited to see each other after traveling to Cape May from all over the country, but were immediately told to HUSH. Second, the manicurists refused to do one of my bridesmaid’s manicure because she had some old glue on her nails. She literally said, «Oh, I’m not doing that.» But because of their policy, we had to PAY for a manicure that we DIDN’T GET, and not only that, they would not let us let another woman take the open spot. After that mishap, all the women working there were rude and snippy to us. Third, everyone’s nails except for mine chipped either the same day or the next day. Classy. Fourth, the woman doing my pedicure left dirt in the sides of my toenails. Yeah, gross that it was there, but gross that you didn’t clean it out. Maybe they’re not into doing manis and pedis, maybe they prefer massages, etc. But if you’re the only place in Cape May that has more than one pedicure chair and manicure table, what do you expect? No one wants to wait for nine people to get their wedding nails done one at a time. Two stars instead of one because they gave us cheese cubes.

Great Energy! That is my experience every time I go to the Cape May Day Spa. This time I experienced the Victorian Tea(Swedish Massage & hand & foot paraffin) a bit of relaxation and hydration after a very long winter. My therapist, Linda, infused the session with great energy!

For a resort town this is a poor excuse for a day spa. The immediate presentation of the front desk and retail area are old and dated. They waiting area was not relaxing nor very big. There were 4 of us receiving services and a lot of money being spent. The essentials oils they have you select in the beginning never came into play once I entered the massage room. The service providers were all very nice in personality, but the level of relaxation and expertise in massage was just not there. It was more of a rub down then anything else. Entirely too much money for the quality of work they’re putting out. The Chai Tea was nice afterwards, that was the best part of the experience.

One more experience that confirms you can’t get a great massage at a pricey resort. The Cape May Day Spa is really nice inside — soft, indirect lighting, comfortable furniture, polite, friendly staff. I went there for a 50-minute massage that was around $ 150 bucks. I explained to my massage therapist that my back was really sore between my shoulder blades, so I asked her to spend our entire time above my waist and focused on that area. She seemed mildly annoyed that I was(«you want me to do what???») trying to direct her, but she said ok. I was really clear that I wanted just as much of a deep tissue massage as she could give me. She proceeded to spend the first 10 minutes of the massage(20% of our time) massaging my scalp, and then did a bunch of other worthless stuff before finally getting down to work on the part of my back that needed it. Once she finally got there it turns out she is a really skilled therapist and gave a nice massage. But it’s clear her goal was to spend as little time actually doing hard work on my back as possible, so I’d guess she spent maybe 10 minutes working the part of my back I told her needed attention. Classic way for a therapist to avoid working too hard. I’m giving 3 stars rather than less because it is a really nice facility, and I could tell the therapist is skilled. But this place is in business due to its location and accoutrement, not because they give great massages.

This cute«boutique» day spa was a great find! The staff was very professional and attentive; the atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful. And they have private changing rooms(which I loved!). I booked a facial(80 min) with Sondra — who was great, very knowledgeable. As she was doing each application she explained what she was doing and gave me tips for my home skincare routine. She wasn’t pushy about products or additional services. Comfy, heated bed; calming room. The hand/arm and foot massage was also very relaxing. I left feeling pampered and stress free, and my skin looked great! I’ll definitely be back.

The environment is relaxing, and the staff is professional but my and my boyfriend’s massages left a lot to be desired. We give each other massages pretty regularly. This side-by-side was a gift and we both agreed we like our amateur massages better.

This place is super pricey, but hey its Cape May so that’s kind of the norm. I was lucky enough to get a 90 minute deep tissue massage for my birthday. I am awful and have forgotten the name of my massage therapist. However, she was fabulous. My back and neck is always in some state of stiffness and pain so I am a piece of work for any massage therapist. When you walk in to the building you are greeted by your name and escorted to a changing room where switch into a nice plush robe. Then you wait in a sitting room and can have tea or water with lemon. While it was nice to get mentally prepared for ultimate relaxation… I didn’t really like waiting with other people. It sort of felt like a doctor’s waiting room but we were all naked under our robes. There was also a couple there waiting for a couple massage and it just seemed like it would have been much nicer if they had their own waiting room. Once your massage therapist is ready you are brought into a separate massage room. The lighting, music, and scent were all very calming. My therapist asked me some questions about how much pressure I wanted or where to focus the massage. Then she began and didn’t really bother me the rest of the time, except to check to make sure she wasn’t hurting me. I would have to say that this massage was definitely one of the most relaxing ones I have ever received. Also, one of the most intense. With my back problems it is hard to get both out of a massage– relaxation AND actual massage therapy. If you really want to splurge or money is not a concern, or you have an upcoming birthday/holiday I would highly recommend Cape May Day Spa for a massage.

I’m a big fan of massages and I’m a big fan of Cape May Day Spa. My partner surprised me with a trip to the spa on our anniversary where I was treated to a very good massage and then a refreshing salad/tea afterward. The staff is very professional and nice and the atmosphere is sooooooooo relaxing. I’ve been to several spa’s since but this one is still my favorite. There massage rooms are spacious compared to most I’ve been in and they are stocked with excellent lotions and bath products as well.
