Fantastic homemade(from scratch!) Russian fare. When making your choice to dine here, be sure to realize that what you order is made then and will take more time than we are used to in American restaurants. But like most things, it will be worth the wait! The portions are a bit smaller than you are used to, but enough to satisfy. The other good news about smaller portions is that the desserts are to die for! Service is very friendly as it is usually the owner or her family that come from the kitchen to wait on you. Think of it as being invited into someone’s home, a long lost friend’s home to be preceise. Be prepared for less ‘waiter’ and more ‘neighbor.‘ I thought that I didn’t like Borsch, but what I learned is that I don’t care for the Americanized version! This delicious dish has incredible flavor and is worth trying if you«think» you don’t like borsch. The Blini, similar to a blintz or crêpe, are a wonderful melding of flavors in a very light and tasty wrap. The dessert blini or ‘Sweet Blini’ are a pefect end to the meal. It is tough to opt for the blini when you can see the case of incredible dessert offerings. Since they are homemade also, the variety changes but the quality doesn’t! I hate to share my secret, but you will definitely want to order a loaf of bread(or more!) to begin your meal and to complement any of the items you choose. We will occasionally just pick up the bread to have at home!

Looking for some home style food? This is just the place. Serving size is small but I think most restaurants serve way too much. This is run by one lady. She steps out of the kitchen in a traditional Russian costume or dress. Don’t know what that is? Go see her! I ordered an Au gratin potato dish with some sort of sausage in it. It was actually really tasty. I also had some dumplings and light cake type of desert. The food is a little hard to describe but I will tell you this, all of it is made from scratch. You will notice the quality of the food when you taste anything she has. I even ordered a coffee after the dinner for the desert and it was so nice and fresh. This may not be a big chain restaurant but what it lacks in adverts she makes up for in attention to detail in her cooking. I would try it at least once.

Thank you again for a great meal with all the little touches that make this such a nice place. I love the little special dish of honey you give us for the great bread. The cabbage roll and mashed potatoe special is so good! Our year old grandson loves the special potatoe salad you make for him.

GREAT spot! Delicious food and run by the nicest woman. Also pretty cheap! Get the dumplings, homemade bread, beef pie or blini.

Excellent made-from-scratch food. Be sure to call ahead if you have a larger group. Very authentic Russian fare, and great desserts. Try the meat pies and chicken soup.
