Great time in this pub setting. The food was fabulous! I had the Bangers and mash and my husband had Celtic Pot Pie. Both were fresh, hot and delicious. Service was a little slow but not bad for a Friday night. Our waiter was sweet and attentive!

Shawna is literately the best bartender I’ve ever had, and I am a bartender myself so that says alot. If you want a good time in Cape Giratdeau go to this place!!!

Food is okay. Service is bad bad bad. We were there on a slow Wednesday night and had trouble getting drink refills and the correct check. We could have walked out paying much less but I am an honest person and couldn’t do it. Don’t recommend their steaks but the fish n chips and appetizers are good.

Fantastic Rueben sandwich with ultra thin chips. Guinness stew and shepherds pie are two of my other favorites. Great service too. Dining room has booths as well as tables so whether you’re seated for dinner conversation, or with friends by the bar, there’s a place for you.

The bartender wasn’t particularly«on», but maybe he’s saving his energy for tonight. The place smelled amazing. I’m hopeful that the food is good. The food was so-so. The Celtic pot pie had a marginally well seasoned filling, but was a bit too thick. The crust was amazing. The carrots on the side were cold and shriveled… not unlike my last husband. The service was slow and the waiter uninterested. Overall it was a lackluster experience.

San pantrik style Irish restaurant — very pretty green colored decorations and slow style. The burgers are tasty.

I really enjoyed it here the first time. It was a five star visit. The second time the only good things were the waiter and the hot coffee and baileys. The chicken boxy the first time was perfect and crispy. The second time it was soggy and greasy. I did not feel well that night. I do not know if I will be back.

This was my second time here. My first time was at lunch about a year ago and although the food was ok, the service was very slow. We were a party of 3 with only 2 or 3 other occupied tables. The second time, we were a party of 5 for a weeknight dinner. Although when we arrived, the place had a lot of customers, we waited an hour to get food and by then we were the only ones in the dining room. My meal was great(I had the corned beef & cabbage & another friend had the steak which was good), but my other friends’ meals weren’t so great. Two of the meals had to be returned and the other meal was half eaten. The service was slow and we almost had to walk up to the register to pay our bill. The restaurant’s ambience is great– just not the service.

If you’re in Cape Girardeau you have to eat at Katy O’Ferrell’s! Father McDevitt’s Roast Beef” is great. It’s thin sliced roast beef and Swiss cheese on a Talera roll, served with horseradish sour cream. For an appetizer, I recommend«Pete’s Planks» — deep fried topped with Guinness Gravy! It’s really good. If your only looking for some munchies to go with that refreshing Guinness, then try the Pepperjack Mac N’ Cheese Bites.

My mom and I stopped in for a late lunch, so we were the only customers there besides a few people at the bar. We chose Katy’s for their steamed mussels, but we were too early for the dinner menu. My mom had the corned beef and cabbage, and I had the Celtic pot pie. Both dishes were so delicious. The atmosphere of Katy’s truly makes you feel like you are dining in Dublin. We had great service from Jason, great food, and an overall excellent experience. So much so, that we returned for those mussels later that night!

We took my mother and father here on fathers day, the service was great! I had the bacon cheese burger and planks, it was good. My husband had the corn beef and cabbage with carrots he loved it. My mother had the pot pie it was delish! And my father had the fish and chips he said it was good also. Lots of great beer and wine to choose from and a very friendly atmosphere! Will definitely be back!

This was a very good Irish restaurant. It ranks among the top five that I have been to. For an appetizer, the calamari is good but the Guinness cheddar cheese dip is a must get. I only wish they gave more bread to go with the dip because you end up wasting a lot of it. Out of the 6 entrees we had, not one was bad. This covered everything from burgers to fish and chips to bangers and mash. They have a good drink selection and their house mixed drinks were delicious. My only complaint is that it was dark and crowded. We weren’t there on a busy night and it was still very cramped. I couldn’t imagine being there when the place is packed on St. Patty’s day. That being said, it is a must try if you are in the mood for Irish fare.

We stopped by to try this place. Had stuffed portobello mushrooms and cheese ale soup. What a pleasant surprise. We’ve had Irish fare in major cities like Boston and Chicago. This is the best we’ve had! Hope this place makes it! Stop and try it.

I really had high hopes for this place. I will tell you the only reason i took 2 stars away was for the food. Everyone raved about the Guinnss Cheese Dip that tasted like elmer’s glue and cheeze whiz and SALTY. We ordered steaks and having said that I know this is an Irish joint so I’m willing to come back and try some Irish fare, because the steaks were over-priced for as chewy and fatty as they were. Having said that here are whats bringing me back for its second chance. The awesome ambiance. The woodwork is gorgeous and the bar was spacious and grotto area was great… If we weren’t the only ones in this place we may have sat there. Our server was awesome so nice and attentive. I did not tell her i was disappointed in the food cause i really wasn’t interested in waiting for a second crappy steak. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and specials.

This place has been open for two years. Not sure why I never stopped by. My daughter and I went there because she said they had a good lunch. When I walked in I was immediately impressed with the décor and layout of the place. It has a dark, earthy. old world feel, of course it’s an Irish style Pub. My daughter suggested the«Bangers and Mash». They brought out a beautiful plate of Mash Potatoes, with four Sausages on top covered with a brown gravy. It was perfect for the cold weather. I don’t remember when I have enjoyed a single plate of comfort food as much. I seriously ate it slow because I did not want it to end. Stop by and see Chris the manager and all the staff. Katy O’Ferrell’s is a great place to eat in Cape Girardeau.

Love this upscale Irish Pub and Restaurant. A great place for a pint of Guiness and the food is good. Wish the fish and chips were more authentic though. Fish is great but If you order chips, you get crisps and if you order fries, you get planks.

Bangers & mash every bit as good as the Irish pub I frequent back home in San Francisco where all the Irish transplants go when they’re homesick. Served in a very cool historical building with a great looking bar. Their boxty is also worth getting while they pour both Jameson as well as Powers so Catholics and Protestants are catered to equally.

I’m not sure how much sense it made for me to go to Katy O’Ferrell’s the day after Thanksgiving because it resulted in two giant meals in a row, but I have no regrets. My waistline might have other opinions but that’s okay. This place was SOGOOD! I feel like I’ve tried every restaurant in Cape, and I still hadn’t been to this Irish joint when I was in town on Friday. We decided to stop by for drinks and dinner, and I had no idea how much I’d end up loving it. We got to sit on the upper level in the back, and it gave us a really cool view of the whole place. Service was so fantastic, too — lots of recommendations were given, drinks were always full, and it was really a blast just to be there. If your server asks if you want bread, say yes. Between the soft, fresh bread and the sweet butter, I probably could have made a meal of that alone. Other things you should not pass by: Boxty(pan-fried Irish mashed potatoes topped with sour cream, diced onion, and bacon. Good God.) Also, get an order of the Cheddar Guinness Cheese Dip. I had the Father O’Clavin’s Ham ‘n Cheese for my entrée, and it was so very good. The corned beef and cabbage is happening next time. Only go here if you’re starving, and be ready to eat, drink, and be merry. Absolute win all around.

Stopped by for a bite while visiting from NYC. Great historic building(old opera house). Irish pub style. Super clean and newly renovated. Friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious fish and chips. Cooked perfectly.
