Very spotty service. It was good years ago, but not anymore. Three most recent experiences are 1. Ordered 8 lobsters, flew to visit family, and found only 5 in the box. I wasn’t overcharged, but I was short 3 lobsters. 2. Ordered and shipped lobster. UPS delivered a day late and several were no good, dead. It took months to get a refund on the shipping and I ended up losing the cost of the dead ones. The shipper wasn’t my choice and the unusable ones should have either been replaced or refunded. 3. Strike 3 and end of doing business with them: I called ahead and asked that lobsters be packed for pick up as I had a flight to catch. I got there and nothing had been done. My mother was very disappointed when I arrived without lobster.

Three strikes and your out. We called the night before to have lobsters ready so we could catch a flight. They wanted to pack them when we were standing there. Why would you call ahead then? This is not the first disappointment with Alwives. I want to support local farms but this will not be one of them.

Visited Alewive’s Brook Farm for the first time this past fall. Halloween was quickly approaching and we needed pumpkins. This was my first time going out into an actual patch and cutting my own. We had fun and picked up some extra veggies while we were there. Apple cider is a must!
