food is always good and the prices are reasonable. My favorite place for a fish sandwich!

The service was slow– we had to remind our waiter many times to bring us water, mayo, etc. Food is sun-par. My shrimp was swimming in grease.

I appreciate the response from the owner but I have been in MANYMANY seafood restaurants before that do NOT have that smell of not-so-fresh fish that hit me the second I walked in! The FISHY smell usually is an indication of fish that is NOTFRESH. I have eaten in seafood restaurants up & down the East coast, up & down the West coast, In Mexico and other coastal waters and have NEVER had that strong smell like I experienced at the Shrimp Shack. I’m happy to hear the seafood is fresh & not frozen. However I still will never return due to the strong odor. There is an ocean smell & a beach smell but a FISHYSMELL is not good. Fresh fish does NOT smell!!! SORRY!

Came here as our choice #1 and choice #2 had over 1 hour waits. This place has shirimp a plenty. We all got shrimp of different kinds. Looking around what other people order it’s all about the friend shrimp. Started the meal off with a Caesar salad(decent) then for my main had popcorn shrimp and coconut shrimp. Found the Popcorn a bit salty and mostly just breading. Ate it with rice. My wife had the broiled(which tasted) a little less flavourful. My daughter had shrimp and fries. They brought out here meal first which was appreciated! They had a special fried fish and chips $ 8.99. Crazy cheap. Come for the fried seafood. If you don’t like it stay away! Quality was decent! Not high end. Not low end! Bill for 4 of us was $ 57 before tip!

won’t go back. They lure you in with very restricted coupons and get you with overpriced drinks and upgrade charges on sides. Should have known it would be bad with the half-full parking lot.

Ate here with the family. They would not seat us until we were all there. I can live with that but the food is over fried and bland. Place is not clean by any means and the service is bad. Won’t be back.

I took advantage of the free fish sandwich today. I was 2nd in line. I got the sandwich and order the onions rings. After I left at 1102AM. I counted 20 cars in line down the street. Well worth the wait sandwich was large and tasty. Rings too. I will be back. People are nice BUT how will they be by the end of the promotion at 2pm. ;-)

We ate there while vsiting Cape Coral on vacation. I expected more of a sports bar type place or maybe some music playing, in other words it was really lacking atmosphere. The food was deccent but a little pricey. A happy hour and some music or televisions would do this place wonders. We showed up at about 7pm on a weeknight and the place was empty.

From the outside it looks like a chain, however it is one of 3 locally owned. Hostess was very prompt and accommodating. Décor was commensurate with level. Menu was ample but not overwhelming. Prices were very reasonable. Waitstaff very pleasant. Food quality and taste very good.

Not too shabby for a chain. Popcorn shrimp, hush puppies and clam chowder were pretty good.

I was a bit torn over how to rate The Shrimp Shack. On the one hand, anyone who so much as walks INTO to this place has little room to complain about what’s about to happen; it’s a shabby chain drive-thru seafood restaurant with a with a giant smiling shrimp on the outside, for heaven’s sake. Even so, at their price point, they need to do better. The skinny: the shrimp nachos were just passable for a place with giant sea critters painted on the walls, the side green salads were fresh and substantial(thanks to our server, who created them), the Manhattan clam chowder met with mixed reviews: Mom wasn’t a fan, I thought it was pretty tasty. Our SERVER, though, was top-notch, and she jussst raises The Shrimp Shack to three stars. Without her, our memories of this place would be a clear-cut«meh,» for sure.

The Shrimp Shack serves the best Coconut Shrimp and sauce. The Coconut Shrimp are not greasy, they’re large and the coating is not overdone. The sauce is different from the usual orange marmalade type, very good. The waitstaff was very attentive and pleasantly accepted our two coupons. The best place to go for excellent Coconut Shrimp!

This is one of three Shrimp Shack restaurants in the Fort Myers area. I have been to all three and they all have an identical menu. Somewhat surprisingly, however, each one has a different feel to it. The one on Colonial is somewhat dark and dreary inside with so-so waitstaff. The one on Metro is always very busy(waiting for a table or booth is common here) and a bit noisy. This one is my favorite. It is bright and cheery, as was the waitstaff, and busy but not at all crowded. Oh, and the food here is just as good as the other two places. I had the shrimp salad for lunch and it was outstanding. Shrimp, after all, is what they do best.
