We love this place and eat here once a month now that we’ve found it. Super small dining room, but they are the master of their menu. Specials are creative and the food is very good. They are kid friendly and have quick friendly service.

The good — I ordered the chicken fried steak eggs and biscuits and gravy. The food was good. Not great but above average. The prices were reasonable. Friend had eggs and sausage… Expected a better quality sausage but wasn’t bad. The bad — walked in with Starbucks coffee and immediately was chastised about it. I offered to purchase whatever drink and even transfer my coffee into their cup… No can do. I totally get that beverages are great profit generators which is why I offered to buy a drink. I tried to be reasonable. But the owner/server was absolutely un-reasonable. I won’t be back… In fact I contemplated leaving. I know small business owners are under pressure to make profits… But you should avoid alienating potential loyal customers… Huge turn off.

Food was delicious! Best pancake ever. The waffle maker wasn’t working unfortunately. The place is very very VERY warm though despite extra fans they put in. Uncomfortable and we rushed to finish breakfast because of the heat.

What a pleasant place to have breakfast. I had the eggs Benny with FGT, best eggs Benny I’ve ever had and hollandaise sauce was the real deal. Fairly priced; because I believe many times, not always, you get what you pay for. You want a value breakfast, go to a chain. If you’d like a ‘real’ breakfast not made of overly processed crap then try Hart and Soul. Met the owner also, sweet lady. I will absolutely return when in Cape Coral again.

Stopped in for breakfast today. Ordered the Classic Benny. The eggs were poached perfectly. Ham was excellent and the hash browns were crispy and tasty. The service was great. They got to know our names and I felt like they wanted us to be a part of their family. We will be back, likely this Wednesday, as the food and service was exemplary. This is a gem for breakfast or lunch. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the food and service. Some tight parking in front but lots of parking behind the place.

Had the Shrimp and Grits special that was awesome. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and spiced very well. Wife had a Benny with a perfectly poached egg and was happy. Coffee was OK, nothing to scream about. Two ladies attending to a full café were pros. We were by a window and far away from the portable a/c unit, so it got a bit warm for us. Love supporting local café’s and this one should stick around.

5 stars for good ol’ home cooking deliciousness! While its a play on the owners last name, Hart, this super cute café has plenty of actual heart and soul. The food oozes with southern charm(from biscuits & gravy to eggs benny every which way). We had to try something signature, so we went with the Southwest BlackBean Benny and the Green’Mater Benny. The black bean cake was super flavorful and was a yummy replacement for the standard english muffin at the bottom of the benny. The fried green tomatoes(FGT’s) were perfectly crisp, without being too oily. They were placed atop a fresh biscuit and sausage patty. The eggs were perfectly poached with the hollandaise poured lightly on top. I’m making myself hungry just writing this! The dishes come with a side, so we went with the home fried potatoes and grits. The potatoes were nice and crispy and the grits were cooked well(not mushy). They gave some butter on the side for the grits, but I didn’t think it needed anything more. The service was so incredibly friendly and attentive. Our waitress couldn’t do enough for us! Made some light side conversation(without being intrusive) and was genuinely curious which benny was our favorite. Both held their own, but the FGT took the gold medal. It’s their top seller for a reason! Nothing over $ 10 with many dishes under $ 8, as well as daily specials. Parking in a lot out front, but there is another lot out back if it’s full. Easy enough to walk through the back entrance, so not inconvenient. Open daily till 2pm, which is great since some cafes have one day they are closed. I’m sure weekends can get packed, but we went on a weekday for a late breakfast and didn’t have any wait. The whole atmosphere from the food, to the décor, to the service was beyond warm and welcoming. They wear their name proud here and I look forward to trying their lunch menu in the future!

Wide got the Roast Beef sandwich — sandwich is juicy really good — roll is really soft. My omelet was real good, breakfast potatoes hot. We will be back.

Laura was a friendly, attentive server. The setting is trendy and warm. Pancakes, eggs and hash browns great with generous portions. The biscuits and gravy were the best I’ve had. Didn’t get to try the fried green tomatoes, but next time ! Nice change from your regular diner breakfast spots! No clanging dishes, rushing and bright lights.

Food was great. Went in and had a quick lunch with my mother the other day and I will definitely be back. The chipotle mayo on the chicken sandwich is pretty damn good!

Customer service was good. My food personally… I never had such gross Biscuits and gravy ever. NASTY. Such a disappointment. My man got some sandwich. Thankfully that was ok. Potatoes were bland.

Great small place with interesting decorations. Clean. Very affordable. We paid about $ 70 for 7 ppl! Eggs Benedict were made to perfection, loved French toast with honey and pecans. Make sure you try their homemade grits. Our waitress was Laura and she was awesome! Very attentive, friendly and gave us some great tips as to where we should go, what is worth seeing and where to get some good food. Highly recommend this place!

Great family place– from the music(70’s light rock on Pandora– loud enough to hear but still have a conversation) to the service(first time there and the owner interacted with me like we were long time friends) to the food(great comfort food at a great price). The place is small, comfortable and«oh so cute». I had the daily special which included grilled sweet plantains– OMG– excellent! They need to put them on the menu permanently as a side item! The house cut fries are probably the best in town! Parking is a problem though– just go straight to back instead of trying to find a place up front. Highly recommend!

We decided to try Heart and Soul based on the great reviews it got here on Unilocal.Unfortunately our experience was nowhere near as pleasurable. It started from the moment we walked in behind another couple. They were immediately seated and we then waited, and waited even tho the table for 2 behind the first couple that arrived 10 seconds before us, was open available and clean. We received an indifferent«sit over there if you like» after more time than comfortably acceptable. Still, we heard so many good reviews here that we smiled hoped for the best and sat. Waitress who seemed indifferent earlier was very warm and friendly once she finally came to ask if we wanted coffee. She was very pleasant at this time and we settled in. We were ready to order so we did pretty quickly. I ordered the Heart and Soul omelet, and my wife ordered the Salmon Benedict on an english muffin. We then waited, and waited, and waited. It was ridiculously hot and uncomfortable at our table. We saw people come 20 – 30 minutes after us being served, finish and leave. We finally got our food 45 minutes after we ordered, without a reason for the delay or an apology. We said nothing other than thank you at this point. We just wanted to eat. Disappointment continued tho. The english muffins on my wifes benedict were ao hard and stale they could not be cut with a knife. My omelette was dry, overcooked and barely had any corned beef hash. It had NO cheese at all in it and was so small I laughed. At this point I had to say something. The waitress was very nice and apologetic, and comped the breakfast. I am glad she did because it was awful and barely edible. This was such a disappointment. We had high hopes, but we will not be returning and we will not be recommending this restaurant.
