There are a few things that they do not tell you when you call for information. There is a 2 night minimum during the summer, and it costs $ 10 per person/per night +$ 5 per car. So for my husband and I to tent camp one night was $ 45. Yikes! This was frustrating, considering I called for info prior to our visit and they did not mention this. Well, we went to the Whitewater Amphitheater and the campground was very convenient. We were able to walk from our tent site(the woman on the phone also said .25 mile walk, it was a mile walk). They offer shuttles to the venue, but only when there is 10 people or more interested. They have a pool, which although it wasn’t the cleanest, was nice to splash around in. The tent sites are fairly primitive, with a stove like fire pit(we were on a burn ban unfortunately), a picnic table and a trash can. The sites at beautifully shady, with great lush trees. You are, however, close enough to see your neighbors. The bath house was fairly clean and nice, with 3 toilets and 3 shower stalls, within walking distance to the tent sites. They also have port a potties scattered throughout. They partner with River City Sports for tubing the Guadalupe River, which is fantastic. They charge $ 12 and they drive you to and from the river. We had so much fun! The office has some camping basics, as well as ice for purchase. There is also a bar/grille very close to the campground with good bar food, in case you run out of food, like we did. I may return to camp, but next time I’d do two nights, to get my money’s worth.

We rented a cabin for the weekend while we went tubing, got a call back to find out they had double booked our reservation. They recommended an upgrade to a cottage, of course at an additional price. It wasn’t much of a cozy home. Floors were filthy, sheets were stained, and it was in definite need of repairs. Sleeper sofa was probably the worst bed I’ve slept in(although i can’t say i expected much from a pull out mattress). On the plus side, the staff was nice, and it was fun hanging out with the security guard overnight. Probably won’t be back if i can help it.
