I had the Eggs O’Brian and enjoyed it except the portion was small. It wasn’t even served on a full size plate. I’ve found this is often the case with bakeries that double as cafes for some reason. I would’ve rather paid more and felt full. Seemed to be popular with the senior set, so maybe that explains the small size portions. Pleasant inside and my waiter was nice, but I probably won’t go back.

If you’re looking for a fast turn around at your table forget this place! 45 minutes to get your order… The food was not amazing. Dealt with poor service and lack of wait staff. While there, I saw & overhrard a customer complain about his meal taking waaay too long. He literally got up and left as I waited for my 45 minute hamburger. As my wife said, «This place lives up to its name, Old Sattler Bakery… you’ll be OLD as well, by the time you get served». WE’RENEVERGOINGBACK!

The food was poor at best. I ordered a breakfast specialty and it was extremely underwhelming. The peaches were canned and instead of the caramel sauce being lightly applied to the dish it was drowning the crepes. To add to another layer of sweetness they covered the bottom of the plate in white and dark chocolate sauce. The dish was beyond sugar. It was like sugar dipped in chocolate and covered in can caramel sauce. Sorry I will not be going back. I don’t feel the drive is worth the quality. Maybe as a bakery they are better but they need to re think their specialties.

Food was ok, but maybe it was the situation that made us not pay attention to our food as we just wanted to leave. We had to put up listening to the staff arguing with each other about their work schedules right in the middle of the restaurant. Very awkward situation. These type of conversations should occur away from the customers ears. Just a sign of poor management in my opinion.

We were greeted and seated promptly, got a glass of water and they took our order, we didn’t see anyone again for 45 minutes. Still no food, no water no tea. And the girl in the short shorts and furry boots acts like she is doing everyone a favor. Terrible service, can’t comment on the food since we never got that far. We left after 45 minutes and will never go back. Don’t go here unless you take your own snacks to survive the wait.

Be prepared to wait. Customer service is not their best asset but if you can overlook that, the food is delicious. We come here when other places are overbooked. The food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable!

Great breakfasts, prices and service. Have never had a bad meal or service here. Haven’t tried the to go bakery treats, but they look good also.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here with my husband. Breakfast sandwich for me and basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast for my sweetheart — both satisfying and tasty. The homemade bread is delicious!

Horrible service. Rude staff. Prejudice. Won’t ever step foot in this place again! I’d give it no stars if I could but I have to select one to post this review. If your mexican or black think twice about going to this place.

This is one of our go-to dining options when visiting Canyon Lake. Describing the place as «a dump» is beyond harsh; it is homey, clean and welcoming. Our favorite dishes, are the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken, served with green beans(cooked in bacon and onions) and mashed potatoes and gravy. The sandwiches are exceptional by virtue of the wonderfully baked in-house bread. One day I will have enough room left for desert and try the peach bread pudding which looks divine. They only serve breakfast and lunch so come early and come hungry.

Nice, local café and bakery with good food and friendly service. There’s even a little covered patio that’s great when the weather is beautiful like it is today. They were kind enough to make my girlfriend oil/butter free poached eggs that were perfectly cooked.

The outside of this place is very deceiving. It looks like a dump. Well. The inside isn’t much better but the breakfast is fantastic. I had a omlette with the works. It was filling and delicious. And the staff I’d friendly to boot. Loved this place!
