Small neighborhood Post Office in the Canton Village shopping center. Lots of parking and very accessible. Pretty small service counter that can see its two stations get backed up fast when crowded. I saw a really nice example of tactful customer service today. I stopped in around 10AM to mail some of the newsletters I edit and stamp some outgoing mail. I overheard a transaction between one of the clerks and a customer whose credit card wasn’t being accepted by the machine. Instead of routinely dismissing the guy with a curt«You’re card’s been rejected»(we’ve all seen that before, haven’t we?) he very tactfully said something like«hmmm our computer isn’t reading your card, it says there is some sort of error, you’d better check with your bank and make sure everything is OK, I’d hate to see you in the supermarket and have a problem if you’re waiting to buy food for your family». I just thought he was very humane and considerate and handled an embarrassing situation in a stellar manner. Nice job !
