The food is fantasic! However, the customer service is not that great. That being said, I still highly recommend this place!

Significantly improved after owner change. I tried chicken tikka wrap and samosas so far and both were excellent. I will update my review after I try something else .It takes long time for order to get ready as 3 people manage everything. If you can wait for 30 mins then it’s definitely worth checking it out. For me it works perfectly for carry outs.

Four stars for the food, two for the customer service ;they have a lot to learn but OHMAN!!! the food is good. Their biryani was freshly made when we had it, so was the chargha. Very seldom is the chicken cooked all the way through so so well. I would highly recommend the mutton kadhai . Now areas of improvement 1)Welcoming people when they enter is a given, and the lack of it here is more cultural then intentional. 2) salads can be better 3) The ambience could use some work 4)hiring servers who speak English would definitely facilitate communication between customer and servers.

Truly a hidden gem of a restaurant for authentic Indian and Pakistani flavors. We had the butter chicken that had their signature taste, the tandoori chicken without the usual food color but with tasty spices and the shish kabob with a fantastic chutney. Would highly recommend for food explorers.

Really delicious lamb kabobs and chicken tikka. You may have to wait a bit because everything is made fresh to order but it’s well worth it! If you’re in a hurry then try calling ahead for carry out. I believe this restaurant is family run so the atmosphere is always friendly.

Things have changed here since the previous owners, truly delighted and pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The new owners work hard at keeping the place neat and clean. Till now i have had their delicious sandwiches, chicken boti tikkas, and this morning the halwa poorie aloo n channa… was yum… love their Naan bread. Every time I have gone, I gave noticed that the food is always fresh and piping hot… don’t get a lot of really fresh food in many other Ind/Pak restaurants. .often it’s been sitting for a while. not here.all fresh. so do expect a small wait. its well worth it..

This is the only restaurant my family goes to on a regular basis. My son and I love the butter chicken and naan, and my husband loves their tandoori chicken. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for authentic Indian/Pakistani food made right.

I saw reviews giving this a lower rating and can’t help but to think its for the previous owners. I have now been there twice and although the first time was very slow, it had great flavor and a friendly server. This last time they were extremely attentive and even better by sharing some history of the dishes. The new owners are working hard to make the space prettier and cleaner but are still small business people bringing the best of their homeland to greater Detroit. Our dishes were Afghani /Pakistani recipes that blew us away. Their Naan was the lightest and fluffiest I’ve had in America but look beyond a small independent business and see them for what they do; authentic meals with great value and friendly service!

tldr: –Food not as advertised(chicken tikka masala was a chicken leg and wing with bones covered in an oil-only [no tomato in it] curry.) –Horrible customer service –Employees don’t understand English –Water is not free –Bathrooms are dirty –Venue looks dead and abandoned almost Stopped by on a Sunday after seeing some great reviews on another website. I was excited to go have some chicken tikka masala as I always do when I go to Indian restaurants. After entering the empty establishment, I greeted the employee cleaning one of the tables. He stared at me and didn’t say a word. He gave a puzzled smile as if he was wondering what I was doing there. I asked, «can we sit anywhere?» He didn’t reply and just continued to make eye contact. He then understood what I was asking him and in very broken English told us where to sit. He sat us at a dirty table. I had to ask him to please clean it. The other female employee then came over to give us a single laminated sheet with the menu items. The menus were dirty and covered with food. My menu looked like baby poo had gotten on it(yes really). They didn’t seem to care about it. The male employee then came back and asked us what we would like to drink. My friend and I both asked for water. He then walked over to a mini fridge and got us two small bottles of water. We were puzzled since most restaurants will provide you with ice water in glasses. We also didn’t know if these bottles were complimentary. We had to ask and they told us it was indeed extra($ 1.00 per 16 oz bottle). Upon looking at the menu, I chose to order what I came for. Chicken Tikka Masala is advertised as boneless chicken(as is the case in every Indian restaurant I’ve been to). I decided to order this along with naan. The waiter had an almost impossible time understanding our order. I asked him for white rice and naan as an additional side. He then asked us to wait while he went to the kitchen to ask if they still had any left. The female employee came over once more and told us that the only Chicken Tikka Masala they had left had potatoes in it. She also told us they had RUNOUTOFWHITERICE. How can an Indian restaurant not have white rice? We decided to continue ordering since we were already extremely hungry. Once we received the order, I realized the curry was NOTHING like I’ve had in other places. This curry was ALLOIL with spices(not tomato as in every tikka masala I’ve had elsewhere). The chicken was NOT boneless. I received exactly one leg and a wing in my curry and it was mostly bones. The rest was potatoes mixed in the spiced oil. The lady also forgot to get us the naan we asked for to both her and the male employee who initially took our order. When we brought it up to her attention, she acted defensively as if we had never ordered any. Our naan finally came out after we were done eating. We had it as dessert, basically. Apart from the food, the establishment looked as if not much attention had been given to its appearance. The bathrooms were dirty and there were no paper towels. They had a stack of thin napkins in lieu of paper towels. There was urine on the bathroom floor and the hand soap was the cheapest they could find at a dollar store. Also, while we were there, a gentleman walked in to pick up an order he had placed over the phone. When he arrived, his order wasn’t ready and the female employee admitted to him that she forgot about his order since they were supposedly busy earlier. Overall, I am never going back. The bad customer service along with food that was nothing like advertised will have me looking for a better place if I’m back in the area. Would NOT recommend.

Pathetic customer service here. I walked in and the employee who I encountered acted confused as to why I was there. I just wanted to dine in. Is that too difficult? I asked for water. I was given a bottle of water — water not free here. I would’ve been fine with tap water. The waiter couldn’t speak much English and he could barely understand the menu and what I was requesting. Once he finally understood me he had to ask the kitchen to see if it was available and it was not. I had to order something else. I asked for naan with my meal but they forgot it. I didn’t ask for it again later since I was already done with my food. Food portions were way too small for the price. The food was acceptable to good but again, small portions. It is under new ownership and the previous Indian-Pakistani restaurant here was much better. This place definitely does not have it together.

Authentic Indian food flavor. 4 stars because ambience isn’t great and plastic cutlery and plates. It’s a new management and guess they are still working on improving the service. Just get a take out and enjoy the food!

Food tastes great. I did talk to the owner about the service issues pointed out by other reviewers and he agreed to take care of matters.

This was the best Indian-Pakistani food I have ever had. Very good customer service as well. Tandoori Chicken and Rogan Josh was cooked perfectly and Halwa Puri was excellent. Tastes just like home food. Definitely recommend to anyone and will be going here frequently!

Yikes. Styrofoam plates and plastic forks, spoons(but no knives…)? Fly catchers on every table? We were served and charged for bottled water when we hadn’t asked for any. No wonder there weren’t any other people in this joint! Nothing says«fresh» like the beeping timers of microwave ovens from the kitchen.

The owners are new to the area, have dined in and ordered carryout, the food is delicious! The logistics within the restaurant and management can be done better though
