I stopped by to look at a horse trailer and ended up making a cash offer. After playing the dealer game they came back $ 250 more than my offer and I thanked them and left. 4 days later I get a text from the sales person asking me what they needed to do to earn my business I informed him that they had my business but let me walk for $ 250 plus the fact I live 125 miles away and was ready to give them a check then. He then came back with still another text and asked me if 28,500 is where I wanted to be on the trailer apparently not remembering that he had already offered the trailer for 27,750. I told him no that 27,500 was all I was willing to pay. Later that day he called me and offered the trailer for 27,600. I again said no and let him know I was in a meeting and had to go. I get an email later that day saying the boss folded and I could have the trailer at the 27,500. I told them I would send my man down the next day with a check and pick up the trailer. Once my driver arrives the hook up the trailer and the safety chains are about 2 inches short and could not be hooked up. My driver did not want to pull the trailer as it would be illegal and not safe. Once they called me I asked them to fix the problem and they blamed the problem on the fact that the new Dodge Ram trucks require more chain and it was not there fault. This was a difficult deal anyway and a dealer that can’t supply 4 inches of chain to a cash customer is probably going to be a problem to deal with in the future. I asked them to give the driver the check back and told the driver to come home without the trailer and we will buy our horse trailer from someone with better customer service.
