Classic store with excellent treats. I wish the patrons would stop throwing trash in the parking lot and the servers would pull up their pants… Come on Canton, have a little pride in one of your best businesses!

Fell in love with the turtle sundae ! Love the food and Chocolate as well. Would recommend to family and friends. Best place hands down

A Canton institution. Best nuts and candy in town. Phosphates, red cream soda, root beer floats are all on the menu just like the old days. A true diner experience with the smell of burgers on the grill and a little greasy feel. Get the buttered French fries!

Great candy and nut store. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it hasn’t changed. Heggys still serves the best shakes!

I have mixed reviews about this place. As a small child I loved going there. But my recent experiences are not so good. The mayonnaise looked gross, it tastes even worse. The waitress was okay but just kinda. Eh. I will say however the shakes are pretty good and the fries with extra butter are amazing. My cheeseburger was okay taste wise but the mayo kinda ruined it. I honestly wish I would just got grilled cheese.

Skip the burgers and fries.
You’ll find better elsewhere; just save the caloric intake for a hot fudge sundae with fresh pecans and whipped cream.
The establishment isn’t fancy, but with a sundae like this, you don’t need to be.

Can’t come to Canton without a trip to Heggy’s. I grew up in Canton about a block from Heggy’s and have never forgotten this local treasure. We order candy each year at Christmas from home because there is nothing better in the USA. I have had See’s, and all the other chocolates people talk about but we always come back to Heggy’s. No chocolate maker in Florida is as good. We love their salted mixed nuts too. We stopped at lunchtime and had buttered French fries which is one of their specials and coneys with the works, the sauce is still the same as when I was a kid. Yummy!
If you get to Canton; go to Heggy’s. nothing fancy but always good!

Great as a candy & nut store, massively mediocre as a restaurant. The servers are amazingly nice, but the food style is early bird special all the way. So, go for the nuts (seriously, better than you can imagine) but move on for the food.

One of the food landmarks in canton… coneys are good as well as the French fries with butter, and of course the candy, nuts, and ice cream… very small dining area. but Iam glad it has remained the same

Heggy’s is one of my favorite childhood memories in Canton, Ohio. Whether it was a quick stop in to get some cashews, chocolates, or ice cream, or an actual sit-​down meal, I have never been disappointed. This locally owned chain has some of the best of everything that they sell for reasonable prices. The staff has always been outstanding and you can end any visit with a banana split or milkshake. Sit at the little ‘bar’ area for a flash back to the past.
I love this place, I miss this place!

I grew up with Heggy’s. When I was a little girl, there was no better treat than to sit on a stool in the parlor and eat a Tin Roof Sundae or sip a chocolate malt. As a teenager, my friends and I scarfed down bushels of the buttered french fries and burgers. The first time I had a real vanilla Coke was at Heggy’s…made by a real soda jerk.
Twenty years had passed since my last visit there a couple months ago, and I’m overjoyed to report that nothing had changed. In fact, the waitress was even the same! How’s that for consistency? The prices might have gone up a tiny bit-​but they’re still cheap.
The food is still a treat, but one of the best things about Heggy’s is the fresh roasted nuts and candies. Frequently, when telling someone what part of the country I hail from, they’ll ask if I’ve ever had Heggy’s candies. It’s that good.

I try to stay away. Very artery clogging, but fabulous food. Yes, burgers with steamed buns, fries with, yes, Paula Deen, BUTTER! Fantastic hot fudge sundaes, and don’t forget that georgeous box of the best chocolates anywhere.

I’m often dubious of «local favorites» because reviewers’ opinions can be influenced by nostalgia. I can report that’s not the case with Heggy’s. Beside their display cases of candies and nuts sits an old-​fashioned diner — including a lunch counter. They serve simple, satisfying fare such as burgers, Coney dogs, soups and flavored sodas and phosphates. I enjoyed a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions (10 cents extra!) and buttered fries, which are basically a bowl of French fries with a pat of butter on top. It looked — and tasted — decadent.
Service was friendly, not flashy. As I was leaving, I asked one of the ladies about one of their candies. She started to explain, then just reached into the case to give me a free sample.
Parking can be tricky, even when it’s not busy. There are a few spots right off the street, and what appears to be some overflow spots in a neighboring lot.

The best chocolate that you have every had. My mom is from Canton and her family sends us Heggy’s every year. We looked forward to the packages every Christmas. If you want some good chocolates I would order from here. They ship anywhere as long as the weather permits.

Two words: buttered fries! A couple days before my friend’s wedding, the groom, the bride, myself as maid of honor, and my bf went here for lunch. I loved the classic setup of candy counter and diner all in one. I enjoyed my cheeseburger and buttered fries. My bf had the same while the groom enjoyed a chocolate milkshake. The food’s very delicious and tasty. I gawked over the huge counter display of caramel and other treats. I’ll definitely go back for some awesome buttered fries, burgers, and ice cream treats.

I miss you, but I am thankful that we no longer live within walking distance from you. Although I delighted in your presence, my wallet and waist are better for your absence.
Your delicious, hand-​dipped chocolates, candies, and wide variety of nuts brightened our regular trips to the downtown branch of the Canton Library — after all, with your sign and 1950’s appeal beckoning across the parking lot, how could we say no? Chocolate-​covered caramels, my dear? Oh, why not? A bag of those! Yogurt-​covered pretzels? One can never have enough — a bag of those! And for you hairnet-​sporting ladies in the back, a bag for you of some of the delicious morsels you’re making for all of us customers right now! Go ahead! They’re on me.

I have a handful of salty, oily (glistening, I say!) cashews and peanuts– they are delicious. I cannot comment on the customer service or store itself. The product was mailed to me as a gift but if you are in need of a treat, I say stop in!
