Creative Catering by Chef Shelton

Chef Shelton lead a cooking class last pm for our family. It was so much fun. The food was great, I finally learned how to make risotto. He related well to our two 20 year old kids and my husband thought he was a chef himself by the end of the evening. Best of all, they did all the clean up. I would love to have him come back again.

I am still thinking about how much fun I had at our In-​Home Cooking Lesson for the «Surf n’ Turf» dinner in November. It was a safe learning environment; no question was too silly. I appreciated the set-​up, and how all the necessary tools were provided. I plan to re-​create all the goodness of the meal (hopefully it comes out just as great). I look forward to attending or hosting another lesson. Great job!

I have had many experiences with Creative Catering by Chef Shelton– they catered the surprise party my husband hosted for me as well as a conference and other events I’ve attended. My favorite of all experiences is the home cooking class, which they recently added to their list of offerings this past fall– I’ve already hosted two of these parties!
Chef Shelton’s ability to teach others in a fun and engaging way demonstrates he is truly a master at his craft. During the lesson we learned different culinary vocabulary (such as julienne and brunwa cuts), appropriate way to hold certain utensils, etc while preparing our own surf and turf meal consisting of Cajun fish tacos and crab stuffed steaks under the Chef’s instructions. (I’ve never had steak come out of my oven that tasted so good!) For the second class, I learned how to make frenched bone in pork chop with butternut squash sage risotto and an apple/​cranberry compote.
It wasn’t just a good time, I truly feel equipped to try to recreate these meals on my own at a later date. And, an added bonus was the advisement of the appropriate wine pairings for each course– classy!
Whether to cater your event or for a private cooking lesson for you, you and a beau, or you and friends, I highly recommend Creative Catering by Chef Shelton. Future in home cooking classes are already in the works…
