This was my first time having Basket Shack. Picked up a to go order for myself, my wife, and my son. Saw a «For Sale By Owner» sign our front, so I was a little apprehensive. Went in and it was a really old school cozy diner setup. I liked it. Laughed to myself at the specials board where«No tomatoes(them danged olé tomato fleas)» was written. I had the super burger with cheese and bacon and liked it a lot. The batteries fries were amazing too. My wife ordered the same burger but wasn’t a huge fan but she loved the onion rings. I’d come back for sure.

Local, perhaps just a little greasy but oh such good grease. Small mom and pop popular with local working folks and I can understand why. Tasty burgers and fries. The house burger is a well seared fresh ground patty served on a grilled bun with chili, onions, mustard and canned ketchup. I’m a big fan of canned ketchup. Outstanding find! My new favorite place in Canton. Super Burger, fries and a good sweet tea for about $ 8. Open for breakfast and lunch only.

YUM! The burger deserves five stars seriously! The bun is soft with perfectly seasoned and seared beef. They cooked it perfectly. I added bacon and cheese and the bacon was cooked to perfection. Your whole meal is made before you when you order. I talked to Judy at the counter while I waited on my food which was to go! She was truly awesome. Great conversation and before I knew it my bag was in my hands and out the door I went. I tried the battered fries and they were good but some of them weren’t cooked through. That’s the only reason for the four stars not five. If you’ve read any of my posts you know how much I love fries. These were battered in flour and deep fried which made little crispies at the bottom of container. Those were yummy. I am excited yet a little concerned that my new office is less than two miles away. I could see myself eating here 2 – 3 times a week. Can we say self control? I’ll work on that! A week later now with an edited review I have found myself here every day for breakfast. Their pork tenderloin egg and cheese biscuit as well as the great conversation with Judy gets me up with a smile every morning

Old school, mom and pop restaurant with amazing flavor! Such simplicity as a burger cooked so well to bring out such delicious taste. First restaurant that I’ve seen to serve ‘Battered French Fries’, at first I’m thinking, «as if French Fries weren’t already unhealthy enough!?!» But, I had to try them because I wasn’t sure I’d ever come across such a thing again. They are fantastic! They cut fresh potatoes from local farmers(along with other various veggies for other menu items, which I find incredible having a town that supports each other.) to make their thick cut fries. The batter is not too thick so it is not overwhelming, just enough to add a crunch to your fries. Honestly I would like to try smaller fries but the bigger the fry the less surface area exposed to batter and oil so technically in a matter of speaking«healthier» but still none the less delicious!!! I got a Super Burger and it lived up to it’s name, it was super! Topped with the usual ketchup, mustard, some onion and a delicious glob of chili(hormel from what I could tell.) added some mayo to the mix and I was downing it in no time. If I am ever in Canton, GA near here again, I will most definitely eat at Basket Shack!

Really enjoyed our meal. We were looking for somewhere to sit down and eat for 8 people. Read about this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. The food was delicious, served piping hot and the service was so fast that the first order arrived immediately after the last person ordered. Best place to eat in a hundred mile radius!!!

This is the real deal for traditional southern greasy-spoon! Great food with all the local color you can hope for. Try one of the bacon cheeseburgers! You might see anyone from your plumber to the judge sitting by you. I eat there often, just don’t tell my cardiologist!

Life is short. You’re doing to die anyway, so why not shave a year or two off your life and have red-headed Reva bring you a cheeseburger with chili and hand-battered home fries? I’m serious. As a Canton native, I grew up eating Basket Shack and have the fluffy rear end, clogged arteries and high blood pressure to prove it. And you can’t find a happier person in the world than me, because the Basket Shack’s food is DELICIOUS. I’ve had a lot of great experiences with this place over the years. First, I can’t say enough about the food. Their fries are double battered, hunks of killer deliciousness and you won’t find more burgers like Basket Shack’s this side of heaven. The waitress, Reva, is always a trip, and the owner is a really swell fellow, too. My father once lost his wallet in the parking lot. He only realized it when he went to pay. The owner comped the meal, and asked my dad to leave him his number. It later turned out that another customer had found my dad’s wallet under a car in the parking lot and turned it in. If that’s not a one-of-a-kind experience, then I don’t know what is. Though I usually just get a hamburger, the Basket Shack also writes their daily menu of Southern fare — biscuits, meat loaf, chicken breasts, veggies — on a white board. Menus? They don’t need no stinking menus. Also, be prepared to wait five minutes or so. The dining area is small and this place is hopping at peak breakfast and lunch times, but people are courteous and generally eat quickly. They’re only open until 2pm and are closed Sundays, so plan your trip carefully!
