Had the pleasure of working a wedding here over the weekend. The staff, including Bree, who was the main contact, were all very professional and upstanding. They were very helpful in assisting my needs during load in & load out. The catering was outstanding, and the food was top notch. Very beautiful property as well.

I’ve been to several of the public events held at the Lodge and never had anything to complain about.(Chrismas brunch, Mother’s Day brunch, and several other events) The property is beautiful, it’s not tough to see this is a perfect location for a country wedding; the rolling hills and forrested vistas are amazing, add the rustic barns and ponds and photo oppertunities are all around. The staff is very occomodating and friendly; they’re always dressed with white shirts and tuxedo style vests that make you wonder if you really are at a country lodge or at a 5-star restaurant in the city. Speaking of 5-star brings me right to the food. I’ve had both served dinners and buffet meals here, never to be disapointed. Prime rib is always excellent but one of my favorite entrees is the stuffed chicken rounded off with seasonal vegetables. It’ll be difficult but you owe yourself to save room for desert. Special requests for vegitarian meals were also met(to the point of making me jealous that I didn’t pretend I was vegetarian to get it!).

I’ve been to a couple weddings here, the most recent this past weekend, and I have to say that it’s an excellent venue for both a wedding ceremony and a reception. Both weddings that I have attended here used the lovely outdoor creek side venue for their ceremony. There’s a small waterfall, and the ‘altar’ area overlooks it. In the fall the leaves are gorgeous, and in the summer it’s all dappled sunlight and sparkling water. Really really lovely both times of year(though watch the stilettos! it’s a bit of a nature walk to the site from the parking lot). I believe there are 2 choices for the reception– this past weekend friends of mine chose the outdoor pavilion for theirs. It’s at once rustic and classy, a large wooden pavilion lit with full moon paper lanterns overlooking forest and a rolling hill. The food was amazing– not sure if the catering came from somewhere else, but they put on a dynamite gourmet BBQ. The other option is a formal dining room in the Lodge, which has a huge beautiful porch– it’s definitely fancier… very lovely. Overall, I would very highly recommend Wright’s Mill Farm if you’re planning a wedding in the Northern Connecticut area. It’s absolutely charming.
