Beautiful, elegant and worth the steep price. I wish the beach were a little different, but an open strip of windy coast south of Haystack Rock is what you get here. A good part of the value provided here is the proximity to Cannon Beach and the little strip of restaurants and shops. But now I am just getting grumpy. Did I mention the price?

Outstanding — the location-the views, the ocean front rooms Exceptional– the room and the amenities, and the attentive housekeeping services. Superior — the staff– all the staff! Excellent — the dinners at the Dining Room. Top notch — the complimentary breakfasts, the complimentary afternoon wine gatherings, and the complimentary evening nightcaps. Fabulous — the miles and miles and miles of sandy beach We stayed 3 days. And enjoyed absolutely every single minute!!! Yes, this is a ‘quiet’ place to stay — but not every person wants to go away and have to listen to noise – person made or otherwise. This is a place to go and relax to get away from it all. A place where one can enjoy an superior quality dinner and not having to deal with the driving and traffic. We enjoyed this place so much, we already made reservations for next year and the year after!

My wife and I were traveling with friends, we stayed at the Inn and had the 5 course Prix menu… it was fantastic! We also included the wine pairing with the meal, perfect compliment of local wine with each course!

I stayed at this hotel for part of my honeymoon. I feel like this hotel used to be very nice — like it had an owner that really cared about providing both a beautiful hotel and top notch customer service. Pros: The hotel is in a fantastic location and has great views of the beach and Haystack Rock. The breakfast our first day was wonderful, second day was so-so, but certainly better than you’d get at a Hampton Inn. Cons: From my very first exposure to this hotel, which was booking my room, I felt like the customer service was lacking. I booked my room online, and the system was easy to use. However, I realized that I had accidentally booked the wrong dates based on our itinerary. I picked up the phone and called the hotel right away. Rather than being warm and welcoming when I told them that I needed to change the dates of my stay, the lady said something to the effect of «just go online and do it yourself.» When I told her that I couldn’t figure out how to do that online, she walked me through it. Wouldn’t it have just been easier to change it for me??? This should have been my first clue. This hotel doesn’t care about treating its customers well. After booking, I immediately received an email with information about«upgrades» to my experience like rose petals on the bed at night or wine etc. I thought that was a little tacky. About a week before my stay, I received a phone call and voicemail reminding me of my trip and asking if I wanted to purchase any upgrades like wine or rose petals. Again, really? Not we are so excited for your trip — just — let us sell you something even though you’re already paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay with us. When we arrived, I checked in, and my husband stayed in the car. I mentioned that it was our honeymoon(no way to say that when booking online, and the only live person I talked to before I arrived wasn’t very warm and welcoming). They said how surprised they were. However, instead of saying congratulations like normal people, they offered to up sell me again. I don’t want to pay $$ for rose petals!!! Maybe you could just act genuinely happy that I chose to spend part of my honeymoon with you. Or maybe you could do what our prior hotel(The Allison in Newberg, which was great) did for us — comp us a bottle of sparkling wine. Seems reasonable for a honeymoon. The poor customer service went on and on. My request for more pillows was met with an exasperated sigh. Etc etc. To summarize, I don’t think this place really cares about its guests. It’s certainly a pretty hotel with a great location, but it isn’t worth the cost for the level of service you receive. The staff needs training on how to provide service commensurate with the rates. The owner needs to actually feel invested and want people to have a good time, rather than trying to nickel and dime guests for all they’re worth. I won’t return. Note this is the first review I’ve ever posted on Unilocal.I was so frustrated by this experience that I wanted to share and prevent someone else from being disappointed as well.

The Stephanie Inn dining room offers some of the loveliest vegan dinners in Cannon Beach when requested earlier in the day. Very special.

The service here is top notch! If you ever need a grown ups-only place to get away at the coast, this is it! The food is amazing. We had a couples massage and paid a little extra to stay in the suite after and use the aromatherapy tub. Every staff person we interracted with was great and we felt truly pampered.

I was very disappointed. My food was ice cold. I received 3 scallops on my plate with cold vegetables(about 5 pieces) that did not match any seafood flavor profile. This«meal» came with a $ 45 price tag. We were here to celebrate our anniversary and unfortunately will not soon forget it. We will not come back.

Our favorite get away. Tonight, the ribeye was wonderful. Great evening. Small intimate setting with very personal service. Hard to beat for a romantic dinner.

We have only been here one night so far and we love the Stephanie Inn. My husband & I are staying in the Janice Kay room, named for the owner’s wife. We have a panoramic view of the ocean & Haystack Rock. The staff is knowledgable, helpful & friendly, especially Rebecca at the front desk and Josh who does multiple tasks from valet to serving the evening cordials. Elegant & charming best describe The Stephanie Inn. More to come! Hello again, we are on our 3rd day here and I have not experienced anything but above expected service & quality. If the room rates seem pricey, one must consider the perks that a guest receives. Every morning the complimentary breakfast rivals any 5 star resort brunch, see my photos of what is included. Also from 4−6pm there are regional wines and beers along with hors d’oeuvres served in the Library and then at 9pm cordials and sweets. All of the above is included along with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and assorted salt water taffies and candies. The breakfast alone for two would be at least $ 75.00. We took a mini bartending class where Domingo(beverage mgr.) taught us how to make 3 or their signature cocktails and gave us a 4th recipe. We missed the salted Carmel ice cream class today but they presented us with the recipe card anyway. Last night we had dinner in the dining room and it was insanely good, Chef Aaron is very talented and does a farm to table style local menu. I let him decide for me and I really enjoyed the steel head salmon with Carmelized Brussel sprouts and Hubby had the scrumptious lamb rack. I recommend that you book your stay at the Stephanie Inn, they don’t disappoint !!

Ahh… I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been to Cannon beach a dozen times, moving to Oregon from California was a bit of a struggle being used to the California beaches rather than the cold West Coast cold weather. However, Stephanie Inn changed my entire view of Cannon beach, and Oregon itself! My husband and I were celebrating out 1st year wedding anniversary and wanted to enjoy the luxury of Stephanie Inn since it is one of the best rating hotels at Cannon beach. The staff is wonderful, the room was amazing, and the food indescribable. The room had a guest book which gave the opportunity of each guest to write their honest opinion about the hotel,(i personally loved the idea). We had a personal Shuttle driver provided by the hotel to take us anywhere we wanted in town, a huge list of movies with pop corn, complimentary wine, cookies, coffee, and candy. The warmth and music of Stephanie Inn was so cozy, I never wanted to leave. We spent two nights at Stephanie Inn, and ever since the day we left I’ve been begging my hubby to go back. I highly recommend this place over any place at Cannon beach(and i’ve stayed at a few). I truly have nothing bad to say about Stephanie Inn. They even gave us a little traveling package for the road back home. Stephanie Inn truly makes you feel special and like a royalty.

Stephanie Inn had the highest rating for restaurants in the area but after looking at the prices for dinner we decided to go for breakfast instead as the photos on the website looked great. Trying to get a reservation was an incredible hassle but we managed to get in only to be a bit disappointed with the selection. For $ 30 a person I expected something more than just the traditional scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal and homefries. The food was good but hardly worth the money. The Inn is beach front but the view in the restaurant is of the parking lot. Friendly staff but they definitely made me feel like I was lucky to have gotten a table even though more than half the tables in the restaurant were open.

I am not 60 or retired(as previous post suggested you need to be). But needed a few nights at a hotel sans kids and noise(other than the ocean) so this was the PERFECT place for us. The food is excellent and service is amazing. The beds are ridiculously comfortable. I’m pregnant and they left a gift in the room for the new baby. No detail is left out. They truly made our babymoon perfect.

Have you ever stayed somewhere where the staff anticipate anything you could possibly want? Thank you Kim, Tammy and David. The service was wonderful and the food delicious. My only regret is only staying one night. I will be back on my next visit to Oregon!

Went to Stephanie’s for our anniversary dinner and was extremely happy with our choice. The meals may be a little pricey but the meals we had and the exceptional service made it worth the price. All the staff was very attentive. We had a great wine from Pete’s Mountain Vineyard and Winery and was extremely lucky to meet the owner of the winery Mike. I will definitely be calling to order some wine for home. Great choice for our anniversary dinner and if back in Oregon coast would love to stay at the hotel and would go back for dinner.

Ok. Let’s be frank here. Unless you fall comfortably within the average age group of 45 – 55, just don’t bother. Come back when your older… say, for your 60th wedding anniversary. Then you can really appreciate the quiet quarters, slow conversation, and oakey local wines. Lots of free cookies and puzzles galore. It was a fantastic preview to retirement. We will be back in 40 years. 5 stars for being legitimately nice and wicked friendly staff. Also the food is fantastic! If we were in the right age group, this would have been top notch. Okay, now back to our dive bars and tiki huts. Oh, and the beach bon fire is awesome.

One of the most beautiful places we have stayed. The staff was the cherry on top, they were genuinely kind and very accommodating! The other people that stayed there were so awesome too, we made new friends! We will be back next year! Thank you Stephanie Inn for the best time of our lives and making our wedding week special! Highly recommend! Joey & Candice

This is a breathtakingly beautiful spot on the best beach. The hotel is small intimate and upscale and a bit away from the crowds and center of town which allows more privacy. The service is amazing. Once you step through the door everything is included from the daily changing excellent breakfasts to the 24 hour baked goods and coffee. To the movie rentals, bike rentals, wine tasting and night caps. The employees make you feel welcome and comfortable. When it is time to leave you are never ready. Don’t pass this one up.

I found the Stepanie Inn dining experience overall disappointing. The hostess and host were wonderful when we checked in, and the wine list was pretty good, but from there it was really just okay with a very high price tag. Our waitress was fine, but not very attentive. The table and dining room were fine, but nothing special. The restaurant had the feeling of an upscale Senior living center dining room. There is no view of the beach, but instead a view of the hotel’s parking lot. The food was pretty good. We started with arugula salad. The salad had a few fiddleheads, asparagus, and pickled radish on the side, and a vinaigrette dressing, topped with chevre cheese. The serving size was definitely petite, and came with a $ 15.00 price tag. For an entrée I had the crab cakes. The dish consisted of two crab cakes, each was probably 2 – 3 oz, and was garnished with a leek sauce, and a few spring vegetables. This dish came with a $ 49.00 price tag. We finished off our meal with 2 desserts that were good, but again they were quite small for the price. We did have a lovely bottle of wine with dinner, and I was pleased to see when we got home and searched for the bottle around town, that it’s generally around $ 40.00 to pick up from the grocery store. The restaurant charged $ 82, which is really not bad. I would have walked away happy enough, if it were not for the cost of the dinner. The prices were truly those of an upscale restaurant, but the portion size, food quality, and ambiance just did not fit the $ 215.00 tab. With the exception of the wine, I felt everything was worth about half of what we paid.

We purchased a gift certificate for 2 nights at The Stephanie Inn. It was our 1st time in Cannon Beach. Everything was of the best quality from the ingredients in the food, the massage and massage rooms to the rooms. I do not believe you can have a bad room all the rooms look right over the ocean. They are amazing views. The lamb at dinner was excellent. They add a wine hour before dinner and a cocktail(nightcap) at 9pm all complimentary. The service was exceptional. We are lucky enough to travel a lot and this Inn was one of the very best. They could use a work out room and a pool but the view along with morning walks in the beach and jacuzzi bath in every room make up for it.

I’ve dreamed of staying at the Stephanie Inn ever since I saw it in a magazine many many moons ago. I think it was the reason I always talked of coming to Oregon. Thanks to my wonderful bf, my dream has come true! And Stephanie Inn not only delivered but exceeded all my expectations! Everything in the hotel is top notch — beautiful, classical elegance. Each room has a name and we stayed in the Jane Adele room, first floor, second room from the corner with a patio stepping out onto the grass and beach with an AMAZING view of Haystack Rock. As another reviewer pointed out, they have a lot of complimentary services: cookies in a cookie jar available 24 hours a day in the lobby. Muffins, coffee, lemonade across from the cookies. Wine and cheese from 4:30 — 5:30, turn down service(they get your bed ready for sleeping and add homemade chocolate mints!), night cap gathering from 9 – 9:30, and a wonderful breakfast buffet! My bf got us the birthday package so there were balloons, ribbons, and 2 cupcakes(one with candle) when we got in the room. They also added ribbons to the bed when they did the turn down service. We also did the s’mores Bön fire at sunset — a must do! They have a fire butler that sets the fire for you, blankets and chairs and a basket full of things to make s’mores and eat with. Aahhhh. I love love love this place and can’t wait to come back!
