I have been going to Johnson’s Peaches for as long as I can remember. Every year when my family would go to the beach or head in that direction, we would stop at Johnson’s for some delicious peach dumplings and ice cream. Honestly, their peach ice cream is pretty unforgettable, and something that every peach lover must experience at some point in their life! A few years ago their location changed, and they built an entirely new facility that looks fantastic! You will find a large variety of amazing peaches here, but you will also find an incredible variety of other produce that will satisfy your tastebuds. My favorite part of this place is what I mentioned before, the peach dumpling and peach ice cream! If you put them together it makes an incredibly tasty sweet treat that is unlike any other! They also have other flavors of ice cream that you can purchase in bowls and waffle cones. If you are driving in the area, make sure to stop by Johnson Peaches for incredible produce and tasty treats!

We always stop off here for some ice cream on our return home from Myrtle Beach. Great peach dumplings with ice cream and clean restrooms.

This is a really nice spot to get some fresh picked peaches and locally grown produce. They have a good variety of produce available during the growing season, on this visit they had lots of watermelons, cantaloupes, corn, tomatoes, eggplant, okra and a whole bunch of other veggies along with their numerous varieties of peaches. It was neat to see the farm truck pull up loaded with tons of crates of peaches just picked from the orchards while we were there. All the peaches and produce are displayed outside under the sheltered part of the building, they have a very small store part you can go inside where they have alot of peach products like jellies, preserves, peach salsa, peach cider and peach candies just to name a few. On the outside they also have 2 walk-up windows where you can get some concessions like homemade peach icecream in a cone or cup(which is great), homemade peach dumplings, milkshakes or sundaes. They also do chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and butter pecan icecream. They have a couple of nice good sized gazebos with bench and picnic table type seating so you can sit and enjoy your icecream. It’s very easy to find, they have huge billboard signs along the highway to direct you their way, it’s only about a ¼ mile from the interstate. You can see their big peach on a pole and big yellow sign once you reach the top of the exit ramp from the highway.

The best homemade peach ice cream with chunks of peach can be found here. They also make a great strawberry ice cream too, but I can’t get past the peach. Peach dumplings made by Mrs. Johnson herself served with a scoop of their ice cream is also a must eat. I took off a star because there is a gentleman that works there in the mornings that is ALWAYS rude and unfriendly. For some reason he only asks some people to leave their produce outside while they go into the store to browse and others that look like him, he doesn’t make the same request to. Just food for thought

This place has peach candy, peach salsa, peach ice cream, and just peach everything. If you like peaches this is the place to stop. They do have a lot of other produce as well. The peach ice cream taste like it’s actually made from real peaches. It was a nice clean place with friendly people and covered areas to sit and picnic.

This is a fabulous stop off the interstate. The fresh peaches are unbelievable. Stopped on our way down to Myrtle Beach and got a hot peach dumpling topped with ice cream… yummmmm! They have a covered picnic pavilion so we sat on the picnic table in the cool summer breeze and just enjoyed the relaxing environment. On the way back, we stopped and I got a big bowl of peaches with ice cream… double yum! Again, so relaxing and enjoyable. They also sell a variety of nice fresh produce. Restrooms are clean and there is plenty of parking. Too bad the employees don’t seem very excited when you get out of your car. No greetings or smiles or welcome whatsoever. They barely want to engage in conversation… but it is still a great place all the peach dishes they serve are to die for!

Great peaches and other farm market produce @ the new location just off the interstate. Just look for the big billboard and get off at the exit, it is right @ the exit. Homemade peach ice cream! Yum! Homemade just out of the oven peach cobbler! Scrumptious!

Not so much a Farmer’s Market as a produce stand on steroids, Johnson’s Peaches have been doing what they do for almost 80 years. They recently had to move due to a road widening so they currently can be found on Tabernacle Road, just a little north of their old location(I have submitted this new address to Unilocal). You will find local produce that is in season and in late spring to summer that is peaches, all kinds and in large quantities. You may also find melons, okra, onions and other local produce as well as some baked goods. They have homemade ice cream which is the real draw especially if you are headed to or from the beach and need a break from the car. Rest rooms are clean. Well worth a stop if you are cruising on 220 and have a little extra time.
