Massey’s Pizza

First time trying masseys tonight. Looked great. I took a bite out of my pizza and long white hair under my pepperoni. Yuck

The best customer I’ve experienced in some time. I came to the lunch buffet on a Thursday afternoon. I was greeted my the cashiers and the host right away. Within seconds I had my drinks and ready for the buffet. I mean they keep fresh pizza coming out and announce the type of pizza thats out. They will also take request too. The waitress made sure I never wanted for anything. Come and get treated with respect and get some awesome pizza

Not a good decision! Decided to try something new tonight and was expecting a pleasant experience. I ordered a small individual pizza, a 5 star salad and cinnamon bread. The total came to just under $ 20, I took the food as carry out (ordered online). Upon arriving home and opening the pizza box I discovered that there was a black hair on top of the pizza. I picked it off and got rid of the piece it was on. When i tried another piece of the pizza it was overwhelmingly salty and not very appetizing (I ordered a white pizza). I also noticed that there was no dressing for my salad. I attempted to eat it with Italian dressing I had in my fridge but it did not go well. The box for my cinnamon bread also looked a bit odd but I assumed it had been melted by some kind of warmer. It tasted oaky and was probably the most tolerable of everything. The woman who checked me out could have been more friendly but it was around 7pm so perhaps she was tired. Also the place looked nice upon entering but only one table was being occupied. Go with Donatos across the street!

This by far is the best Massey’s I’ve visited. It’s clean, they always have great pizza selections for the buffet and they always ask what you would like them to make. I live 5 minutes from another location but make the 20 minute drive to come here!!!

Staff seemed nice. The set up for the lunch buffet is very poor. Plates napkins and such between the salad bar and hot bar so chaos to get where you need because there is no flow to the buffet. Ordered a pizza for the buffet which was made wrong and when going to a buffet I expect certain staples to be on the buffet. However if you wanted something it had to be ordered. If no one ordered somethibg for the bufffet then the buffet is empty. Buffets are good because if you want a little stomboli or sub or pizza etc you can get a little of each but we don’t feel right ordering a pizza a sub a Stromboli and a dessert pizza when we know we can’t consume it all. Then when you do order it sometimes you find out that it’s on the bar when it’s almost gone. So you have to order again or say forget it. Never been to a pizza buffet that’s set up so poorly. Some of the foods was decent but most wasn’t very good. The pasta was horrible the noodles were so overcooked and mushy that they fell apart by closing your mouth no chewing needed. Dressings aren’t marked of what they are so you guess between ranch and blue cheese. Two sauces but nothing identifying them. Who wants to ask staff every single thing. Three of us had to ask so many questions and still had things we didn’t ask because it was getting ridiculous. At a buffet I want to get my plate fill it up and eat not chase wait staff around to get food. I have no desire to go back really. I walked in a Massey Pizza one other time and left because the buffet was empty at lunch time and went with others to this one and realized why I walked out before. I’m being generous with my stars.

Haven’t had a problem yet. I order from here for coworkers and myself a lot for lunch. Lasagna is really good.

Great pizza place with nice atmosphere. Good for families. Pizza is really good, especially the God Father! Wow. Amazing.

I do think some of the servers are a little too chatty, but not all of them.
This place has improved a lot since they opened! Can’t wait to go back.

Ordered a Gray Goose and soda. Bartender asked if we wanted a single or double. We chose a double.
Bartender charged us $ 14 for one mixed drink.

Noon buffet is really good, except if you don’t like meat don’t waste your time. Only one no meat pizza in an hour. They are very creative with the meat options but with no meat options all you get is a cheese pizza maybe one an hour which doesn’t last long. Great salad bar, but the pasta is always mushy unless you get there at 11:00. Only Pepsi products available.
Won’t return to the buffet as I usually can only get three small pieces of meatless pizza in my limited lunch hour.
Have tried buying a pizza in the evening and although the pizzas are almost as good as the 70s Massey’s, there is so much black oven flotsam stuck to the bottom of my pizza I won’t go back. I ask then to clean their oven out but they pretty much ignore my recommendation. So I had to bail. But if you like lots of meat pizza combinations, I say you should try their lunch buffet. The oven is always clean, employees are great and the price is only about 8 bucks.

I have to say I tried Masseys again and they have really stepped it up. Service was great, food was awesome and the atmosphere was very comfortable! Definitely will go back! Thank you to the management for hearing the reviews and actually changing what was wrong!

Visited the Canal location again at Masseysl Same great experience. Pizza was awesome and enjoyed watching march madness games! Best pizza in Canal! I would love to see a half off for pizza days on Monday or Tuesday like grapevine does. Just a suggestion!

I wish I could review the food. We sat down and waited between 7 – 10 minutes but was never acknowledged by any of the staff from the moment we walked in the door. Two employees were goofing around behind the bar and didn’t even make eye contact with us and there were only 2 other parties in the restauruant. We walked out figuring the service was going to be awful. Judging from the rest of the reviews this was a smart move.

UPDATE:
After posting my review and reaching out to the Corp about this store, the owner contacted me and we discussed the issues. He was clear that the issues should never have happened and offered to make it right. He also gave me his personal cell number incase I have any issues at this store again I can reach out directly. I will give them another chance.

Haven’t had Masseys in years b\c there were none in the area. So I tried it again on a Friday eve. as I’m getting bored with Donatos and the inconsistency of Grapevine Pizza. Quoted pickup was 25 – 30 mins. and it was ready a little before promised. Large pep/​bacon. It tasted great and there were plenty of toppings and they didn’t skimp on the bacon. It was hot and the crust was a nice thickness, crisp without being hard. It was a good experience and I will go back, however I think it’s a little pricey but I really don’t mind paying more if I really like it. …and I really liked it.

First time here and so far we have sat for 50 minutes and some of our food just came out. When we arrived the store was only ¼ full. Hopefully food is good.
Food is very good but took a long time with only 1 cook on shift according to server. The pizzas’s seemed to come out quickly.
The manager took care for our bill which is nice but still took way too long.

We ordered pizzas on Thursday at 6:00, expecting a wait since they had just opened less than a week ago. We were told over the phone 25 minutes and pizzas were finally ready at 7:15. They were way off on their estimate, but not a deal breaker… again opening week. However, it was $ 47 for 2 large pepperoni’s ($ 17 each) and a medium cheese ($ 13 each). Pizza was hot and tasted delicious. However, with so many other options in the area, we won’t be returning… at least not without a coupon.
