This is the place I keep coming back to. We discovered V-Li’s years ago, and the Thai food is consistently amazing. During our most recent visit, I had the Thai Basil with chicken. The menu shows three peppers. The chicken comes with broccoli, onion, and bell peppers in a spicy, but delicious sauce. Others in our party enjoyed the Wide Noodles, which are not spicy, and come in a brown Thai sauce, and the Pad Thai, rice noodles with shrimp, chicken, and tofu. I’m also partial to the different curries, and the Emerald Curry is my fave. It includes zucchini, cabbage, and green peas in a coconut milk curry, which I think is rated two peppers. The spicy fish is amazing as well. To explain, I enjoy spicy food, but do not like the spicy to overwhelm the taste of the dish. The three pepper level is pretty darn spicy, so consider asking the server to take it down a notch the first time you try the place. The servers are always polite and helpful, and the owners are always happy to come out to discuss your meal. The little place has a rustic ambiance. Feel free to arrive semi-casual. They also have carry-out if you want, but it’s such a nifty place, we usually opt to eat there. This is our go-to place. Delicious, consistent, friendly, fair-prices, and just plain wonderful.

Everything I have tried here is excellent. Their Pad Thai is delicious — not bizarrely sweet with overwhelming peanut paste flavors(like how some restaurants tend to make the dish). The sauce is red, the rice noodles are on the small size but not shredded… just perfect. Their Massaman Curry is also amazing. Although they can’t promise a gluten-free dining experience, if you let the kitchen know of any issues, they will be very accomodating. I have eaten there with a friend with celiac multiple times, and he has always been fine. Great job, V-Li’s!

My review is a bit bias as I know people that work here but that also meant I got really great service and food. ORDERTHETRIPLEFLAVOREDFISH! It was awesome. It was a little like sesame chicken but without that overly sweet aftertaste. I have high standards for dumplings and they were pretty good here too. We also tried the Masaman Curry(for Fall! yum) and Tod Mun(little fried chicken patties) which were good too but that fish just was too good. Spicy level is on the easy side so you could do heat level 2 without a problem; I’d go for 3 next time but I like it spicy. Finally, cute place, not a lot of seating, but what I do appreciate is they have guests go in the door on the side instead of the gorgeous window one to prevent a draft and upsetting the entire restaurant. Smart people. :-)

Fantastic dinning experience! Not cheap imitators of Chinese, but definitely authentic. Try the basil, 5 pepper! Yummmmm! Service is excellent and the prices are good! My friends and I will be back!

We love the food at V– Lis. It is so good and food arrives quickly. You can even have the food made less hot. Definitely a Thai restaurant to visit. Darlene

This place has served me well, consistently well, for the last decade. I have yet to order a bad dish here and I have tried well over half the menu. Worth the drive and then the little hunt for parking. I recommend trying the whole deal: appetizers, entrée, and dessert!

The best Thai food in canton, hands down! My family has been coming here for years and it’s still amazing! I’m a vegetarian, but there are always lots of options or plates you can make meat-free. My siblings love the green curry and wide noodles. The spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had — I seriously cannot find spring rolls that taste this good. And the sweet rice is simply superb — so good! I love everything about this place, you have to try it!

Food is terrible, owner has an attitude, over-priced. Wait staff is great(although there is a definite fear in the air of the owner and kitchen). I’ve tried this place several times and disappoints like clockwork. I asked for some yellow curry sauce on the side with my Pad Thai and was told no. Really? It’s the only sit down place in Canal Fulton’s downtown and one would think in a little burg like this the customer would be king. Not so at V Li’s. I really want any locally owned eatery to succeed anywhere, but something is seriously wrong here. Avoid.

Excellent service, great wine list! We habe had many delightful meals here. The steamed dumplings are seasoned to p erfection. The curries are phenomenal and they are happy to spice them to your liking. We had a dessert of homemade coconut ice cream with fried bananas that was to die for. You have to check this place out!

The 2 stars are being generous. The exterior of the restaurant is poor at best and the inside isn’t much better. Mainly because of the lack of cleanliness. The menu is lacking and if you’re looking for authenticity, this isn’t the place. Our visit was lacking in service, quality, and taste. Service couldn’t even be rated at mediocre. It took 15 minutes for drinks, and my son asked for Cherry Coke, which was out. My son’s food was brought out 10 minutes ahead of mine and my fathers. When our food did arrive, the portions were exceptionally small(prices were high) and the pork was extremely tough. My fathers pasta was overcooked. Throughout the entire time eating, we were checked on only once. To sum it up: Avoid this place like the Spanish Flu unless you enjoy bad food in a poor atmosphere. Sorely disappointed.

The service was great, the décor didn’t bother me a bit, and the food was delicious. My only complaint would be that it seemed awfully pricy for what we received. My friend and I both had shrimp dishes and while they were both really, really good I felt that $ 14 was a lot for six small-to-medium shrimp. We will go back tho’… everything really was delicious, we’ll just order more carefully.

Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Indian… I do lots of Asian food, and have dined in Chicago, Cleveland, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Portland, Seattle, Van Couver BC, and more. When someone suggested Thai in Canal Fulton, I laughed. but, decided to give it a try because of the word«Authentic». I’ve had above average Vietnamese food in Estes Park, Colorado. so why not decent Thai in Canal Fulton. As someone else stated, dated interior, feels like a Amish/faux country tourist nic nak shop with things from Thailand tossed in. Having grown up in these parts, I understand the very white pallet of the people who live here, but, if you are going to call it «Authentic», it had better be. And now the food: The Tom Kha Kai soup was called«Chicken Coconut Soup» on the menu, lacked lime leaves and other ingredients, was not at all spicy.(and I was not asked if I’d like any heat on it) This soup is one of my all time favorites, and what I was served an hour ago was a total let down. If that bowl, had been my first taste of Tom Kha Kai ever. I would never had ordered it again. I ordered Pad Thai, because seriously… if you can’t do that… and they didn’t. I won’t say it was the worst, but it was not even average. Again, I was not asked about heat at all when I ordered, so I asked for it hot… and then I said, «Very hot». It was not. It was, however, most pale looking Pad Thai, so I knew the sauce was lacking. It was boring. I’ve never said that about Thai food before… but there it is. Total lack in flavor. The Chicken was dry. Just like the soup, if that would have been my introduction to Pad Thai, I would never had ordered it again. OK, this is the kicker. No chopsticks. How does that even happen? I’ve NEVER been in an Asian restaurant that didn’t have chopsticks. Usually I pack my own, but I was out with others and… yeah. «Can I have some Chopsticks?», «I’m sorry, we don’t have any.» OVERPRICED! OMG. At Sukho Thai at Belden Village, the Chicken Pad Thai is $ 7.75 for lunch, and $ 9.95 for Dinner. $ 3.00LESS than V-Li’s. Our service was fine, gals had a smile, but really don’t know anything about Thai Food. Served timely. Friendly. My mother loved the Spring Rolls, so there’s that.

First as you approach restaurant it’s kind of an eye sore, very old dirty awning hanging over entrance and inside not that much better, very dated and seems like a country kitchen restaurant instead of a Thai restaurant. Food was fair, service very slow!

I was very let down when I visited here for dinner. First, and this is purely aesthetic, but I wasn’t sure if I walked into a country kitchen or a Thai restaurant when I walked in. Upon being seated, she asked I we were ready to order as we were opening up our menus. After we told her we would need a minute, she came back a half hour later. We ordered the chicken satay as an app while our dining partners ordered spring rolls. That took an additional half hour to come out, and while we ordered our dinner when we did our apps, we didn’t get our meals until 45 minutes after our apps. Our server never came once during our wait to let us know it was coming or anything, but once we did get the food, the server and the manager both came to our table a total of 4 times asking how everything was, so it was hard to actually enjoy it. I had the Thai basil with shrimp which was good, but there wasn’t very much and I was still hungry when I left. My dining partners got the grilled seafood platter, emerald curry, and pad Thai and all said they enjoyed it. Unfortunately the service, portion sizes, and experience left me irritated and hungry. I wish the food could have salvaged my experience because I read so many good reviews, but I wouldn’t go back to this restaurant.

Stopped here for lunch on a Friday. They do have some luncheon items on the menu, but the menu as a whole is for both lunch and dinner, making lunch a bit pricey for Asian cuisine if you venture away from the limited number of true luncheon items, but not outlandish, as the portions seem to be dinner-sized poritons. Had the Spicy«Whole» Fish. Which elsewhere is actually a whole fish, head and all awaiting your fork. Here it’s a LARGE filet, cod I think, breaded and fried and served swimming in a spicy sweet/hot sauce, with the odd broccoli mini-floret around the perimeter. EXCELLENT! The lady had a yellow shrimp curry which she stated was just as good. We each started with a soup, she had a lemon/shrimp clear brothed soup, and I the chicken coconut-milk based soup. Both had a bit of heat to them, but nothing untoward. By prior arrangement we swapped bowls mid-way and it was nice to have a bit of both. Had they had a build your own soup option I would have opted for the coconut based broth with the shrimp, as there were four nicely sized shrimp in her broth, but only two small chunks of chicken both of which failed to fill the spoon, and naught else but the odd slice of green onion circle to flesh-out one’s spoon. Again, both were excellent. Over the years, I’ve tried to luncheon here in the past, almost always on a Saturday, and have always been greeted by a locked door. I now learn they are not open on Sundays or Mondays or for lunch on Saturdays. Apparently their one chef seeks to have a life! Were it me I would do lunch on Saturday and skip Tuesday to score the out-of-towners-on-their-way-to-Amish-country-or-wherever-crowd, but my most learned counsel was not sought on the topic, so I guess I”l just stick to the very occassional Friday luncheon, as it’s just far enough away from me,(and another 200,000 potential diners), to make dinner unlikely event.

We both split the chicken satays, and good, but need more heat. We both ate the spicy fish… very yummy. we both hit a hot spot though, and it took some time to recover… I love hot food, so it was a very hot spot. Our waitress didn’t know anything about the wines, but the wines on the list do pair well with the food. I wish that they would do a Thai beef salad! Prices are great. Music and décor needs to be revamped! Makes me long for that awesome Thai restaurant in Cancun… Yes, Cancun, in the Ilsa Mall on the lagoon.

The service was very slow. Waited an inordinate amount of time just for appetizers and then it took seemingly forever to get our entrees. The waitress didn’t come over to at least tell us about the delay until 45 minutes later. I’ve also had better Pad Thai. This was mediocre at best.

Best Thai food in the area. I wish they had Pad Se Ew and Lad Nar, but their Pad Thai is great. Expensive for what it is, but I assume it’s not as easy to get what they need as it would be in a big city. Coconut chicken soup is also delicious. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is their lack of Pad Se Ew and sort of high prices.

Excellent. Still trying to figure out why/how someone could give this place three stars! Very good food at a very reasonable price. Where else can you get a bottle of Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc for $ 18? Two dinners and a bottle of wine came to an even $ 40. Taste and spice were excellent. Service was acceptable, but not excellent — otherwise I’d have given ‘em 5 stars. This place is a «find» — if you can find Canal Fulton! [har, har] Recommended!
