Competition Complex

Drove all the way from Alexandria on Sat. Night with my, visiting, 2 nieces only to be turned away due to a private party. No notice on web site and Facebook says walk –ins welcome. What’s 2 more kids and you’d think would want the income. Very disapointed, no other options up this far.

Fun place to bring kids and adults, lots to do, mini golf, activity field, rock wall, gyro machine, mechanical bull, little kids play set and more, even things to do out side in good weather when you go in to buy ice cream! There are various buffets and alcohol on lounge side and beer and wine available on the deck on Complex Side. Several rooms or areas to hold parties. Even capable of having large events! My kids 4and 6 love it and so does my 22year old!

Pros: close to Canaan/​Enfield, great buffet, all sorts of things to do for adults and kids and they have live music on Saturday nights at Mountain Meadow event center.
Cons: It’s on Rte 4 with few homes around it, so you can’t miss it; yet there are a minimum of 8 signs or more that Competition Complex and Mountain Meadow are there, along with addl. parking and ice cream signs. It’s confusing as to which driveway they want you to go to… they have 3!
They now have a 20 ft high neon flashing sign as well. It seems a little wally worldish and over the top.
If they took down some of the signage, I would probably give it 4 stars.
Once we go in, it has been fun.
I know this does seem really petty. I drive by it several times a week at night and just have to laugh.

My father wanted to go to the breakfast buffet. I was thinking, breakfast buffet at a kid’s place… no thanks. But we all got together and met for brunch and it really was spectacular! We had stuffed french toast, ham off the bone, eggs benedict order — juice, coffee… desserts, just tons of food and that was all for 10 bucks! The service was great and I think it was a manager or an owner that came out to our table to make sure everything was good. Then she told us that by having brunch, we could use the whole complex. So we all got to eat a really great meal and play mini golf for just 10 bucks. They have a lot of different rooms, and even a bar that looks like you could have a lot of fun and maybe host an event. I was really impressed and we were all full and happy!

I always thought very highly of this place since they opened until this past weekend. We had my sno’s 13^th Bday party there and I have NEVER in my life been talked to like I was by the owner’s wife there. I have a dad who is terminally ill and only has a few months left to live. I let the owners wife at the front desk know I brought my dad outside in front to smoke since it was closer for him and he is in a wheelchair. Her response to me was «well you should tell him he wouldn’t be in that chair if he didn’t smoke» I was FLOORED! I replied with «No I WON’T tell him that and that was not very nice of you to say.
Later on I noticed puddles all over the party room floor. It was coming from the a/c’s in the room. I went out to ask her for a bucket for the hoses and she said «you are not supposed to be turning those on» I said well EXCUSE ME but when I booked this party I was informed it was air conditioned and it really is not but this one room. My father has a terminal lung illness and he needs cool air.
I talked to the MALE owner and he apologized for his wife’s behavoir. I was shocked when I got the bill. No discount for this horrible experience.
I will not be going back!
