Jesse is quite the host — treating every customer as his special guest. The food is good — the ribs, fish and hush puppies are some of the best offerings. If you leave hungry, you have no one to blame but yourself. Great place to take the family before or after a ride on the zipline.

Tied to a resort and zip line service Pitmaster Jesse opened this facility in March of 2014. We stopped in on a chilly day in April while visiting Red River Gorge National Park. Many of the normal eateries in the area are closed at this time of year. Jesse was busy training some new employees but was delighted to see customers. As it turns out Jesse is from the west side of Chicago originally. Since we are from Illinois we hit it off quickly. We wanted to get a medley of items so we could taste what was available in the area. We ordered the baby back ribs, brisket sandwich, chicken wings mild, french fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese and green beans. He also gave us a small sampling of barbecue pork. The really nice thing is compared to where we are staying beer is sold at this location. We really enjoyed the barbecue ribs, chicken wings, macaroni and cheese and coleslaw. Other items were average. The brisket have been smoked 5 days before so I find the time when that is done it tends to get a bit dry. Honestly outside of Texas I have not tasted a brisket that I thought really hit the mark. The pulled pork was also very good. Being a fellow smoker jesse was happy to give me some tips. If you’re looking for something to eat with a cold beer and you are specifically after BBQ I would recommend this facility. However much like everything in this area I would call ahead to make sure they are actually open because Jesse closed his doors right after we left. This was due to colder than usual weather. The final interesting note is that Jesse was the Golden Globes boxer back in Chicago. And he also his had barbecue restaurants in the Lexington area.
