Our corgi was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy a year ago and has been going to Sage for physical therapy since last March. Nicole has been our primary therapist. She and her assistant, Katrina, are kind, patient, knowledgable, and treat our sweet dog like she’s their own. In addition to the DM, our dog is allergic to most food, and they go out of their way to get dog treats that she can eat. Their entire staff will treat you like family and love your pet just as much as you do. I can’t recommend Sage highly enough; I wish I could give them more than five stars.

My little boxer, Sachi, fought a 7 month brave battle against lymphoma and succumbed to the disease the day after Christmas. She would not have survived that long without the compassionate, professional and concerned doctors and support staff. Thank you to Dr. Kiselow, Dr. Shaw and vet techs, Hannah and Nayia for your support and dedication to Sachi’s well being. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and condolence card that I received after Sachi’s passing. I am forever grateful for all you did for Sachi and helping me through my loss! Our little Milo was involved in an altercation on Christmas morning, resulting in a tear on his lower eyelid and puncture to his muzzle. This all occurred while we were out of town so I frantically called just about every emergency clinic in the bay area.
The clinic we ended up going to out of town was great but they were unable to give Milo stitches until that evening, so I took a chance on Sage and drove 1.5 hours back down. They absolutely did not disappoint.
I had been on the phone with them twice before arriving, so they knew exactly who we were upon entering and asked «Is this Milo?» They got us checked in quickly, and we waited in the snack-​stocked spacious and clean waiting area. Elf playing on TV was a nice distraction.
Hannah greeted us and led us to the examination room. Her demeanor was very sweet, calm and relaxing given the circumstance which helped us feel a lot better after a very hectic morning.
Dr. Mary Aslanian came in shortly after, assessed Milo and told us what needed to be done along with any potential issues (ie. potential dry eye since one of his eyelids could not be completely sutured). She confirmed that he’d be shaved in the areas requiring stitches, and that they’d stitch his eyelid and investigate what would be done about his muzzle. She stated it would be a fairly easy procedure, and that she could take him back immediately.
We reviewed the breakdown of charges, and what could cause the low end charge to increase. I was nervous about the price given other Unilocaler’s reviews, but the price was extremely reasonable compared to what we had been told ($ 1K+ if done by an opthamologist and we paid half of that here), so we signed immediately and banked on her to get the job done right.
Within 1.5 hours Hannah called and said Milo did a great job and that he was ready to be picked up. We arrived and it looked like everything went according to plan; they ended up stitching his eyelid, muzzle, and part of his lip. The only change to our charges was an additional $ 8 for some medication they administered.
Within a few days Sage called back to check-​in on Milo. I appreciated the gesture, though it was a different nurse so a bit difficult to get some of my questions answered. They did confirm that I could call in to see the original Dr. for a check-​in to ensure he was progressing through his healing, so I will definitely do that.
All in all, if you find yourself in an unfortunate situation with your fur baby, I would highly recommend Sage. They were responsive and professional throughout the entire process, and honestly I did not think their prices were out of this world given what needed to be done. Their areas are extremely clean and well-​kept, and they work on Christmas day and got Milo taken care of. Couldn’t have asked for a better outcome!

First time at Sage Center for Vet. Spec. in Campbell. We were nervous because our 9 years 10 months old Cavalier had an anal mass and the first biopsy was inconclusive.
We received an «above and beyond care» from Dr. William Scherrer, vet and Karyna Gomez, nurse. It is also worthwhile to mention that Michelle, nurse was very helpful when I called the hospital for guidance during a Sunday evening, a couple days after the surgery.
I cannot recommend highly enough the Sage Campbell staff and the hospital. Thank you for the competent and loving care you provided to my dog and the warm customer service.

We brought our sweet little pug in on a Sunday night after our vet had closed. He was having uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea. We were very worried! The staff were all so kind and sweet. The best part is that the whole staff kept it stress free. They were also thoughtful about cost and the potential for care from our regular vet. In all our boy spent 24 hours with them and we felt confident in his great care. We hope to not have anything like this happen again, but if it does we know exactly where we will be going!

We took our 5 month old dachshund, Rocket, in this evening. He got something in his eye/​bit by something in the yard while we were playing. His eye swelled up and was very bloodshot and kind of veering out to the side, and since it was after hours at our regular vet, we walked in to see the doctors at Sage per referral.
The vet was awesome, friendly and great with Rocket. Assured us that we did right by coming because it was his eyes after all (I was feeling like a crazy dog parent, haha). The entire staff and nurses were great.
We did have to wait about an hour as they saw a «real» emergency before us and let us know. It was a long wait but didn’t bother me if it will help our four legged family member (and we had no appointment)! Rocket’s eye was getting better as time went on so we weren’t as worried anyway and the vet/​staff didn’t seem overly concerned.
They did an eye stain to check for any cornea scratches (nope!) flushed it out and then gave him a shot of Benadryl to help with the swelling.
Overall, great experience. We will go there again if anything else like this happens in the future. Rocket can be extremely nervous but he was very calm and loved the people there. Also the office is beautiful!
As for the price, our exam fees in total were $ 110. We had additional fees for the tests and Benadryl.

My 11 year old Border Collie threw up in the morning and had diarrhea, then hours later had blood in her diarrhea. I freaked out. My normal clinic was closed, thank goodness for Sage!
They took me in right away. I was a little nervous since Oreo is anxious around everyone and doesn’t let anyone pet her. I’ve been to clinics where they put a muzzle over her because they were nervous she would bite, but the staff here didn’t do any of that. They were extremely gentle with her and SOOOOO good with her.
The doctor examined her and gave her two xrays just to be sure there was not any blockage. We came out with some antibiotics and instructions and Oreo seems almost recovered after a couple of days.
AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Than you Sage!

Our two year old Morkie poodle had an onset of vomiting and bloody stool in the middle of the night. We took him here based on Unilocal reviews. Though they were busy; the nurse was very friendly, checked us in promptly for vitals and shortly after was treated with fluids and anti nausea/​diarrhea medicine. Very knowledgeable staff, I work in the health care field and they explained his diagnosis and each medication thoroughly.

Our wonderful furry child, Mosley, got into a bit on Monday morning and ate a battery. I did a quick Unilocal search and stumbled across Sage. At first, I was a little hesitant because I saw that a few reviewers mentioned high prices. Due to our concerns, we pulled the trigger and went with Sage. I am so thankful we did. Spoiler alert: they aren’t as pricy as we thought they would be.
Everyone, from the receptionist (and nurse? She seemed very knowledgeable) to the vet who saw Mosley (Dr. Beth Kollar) were phenomenal. The receptionist was very calming, which I think was crucial for our well being as we were freaking out over our puppy. We felt like we were in good hands from start to finish. More importantly, we never felt like anyone at Sage was trying to explot us for unnecessary tests or medication — the staff gave us great information and fully explained our various options.
Luckily, Mosley ended up being fine. For those of you who are price sensitive like me — our emergency visit cost a grand total of about $ 200, which is VERY affordable and cheap when compared to other vets. Sage called myself and my fiancé the following day to check up on Mosley as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Sage!!!

We were seen last night by Dr. Erin M. Johnston. Our mini dachshund was acting a bit off and we were really worried he had maybe eaten something he shouldn’t have. I was expecting the worst and rushed him here after first calling ahead. The front desk staff was very friendly and the waiting room was pleasant and clean.
We did have to wait a bit — maybe 40 minutes until we were seen (I doubt this would be the case if you came in with an actual trama though) but once we were in the room we didn’t feel rushed and felt Dr. Johnston took really good care of both us and Stig. I really liked our interaction with her and would happily use her as a primary vet if I had the option. It appears he did not have a blockage or anything like I had expected and as of tonight he seems to be doing a lot better.
This was the first time using an emergency vet and I saw many reviews saying they were really expensive. I really didn’t feel that was the case. The ER visit fee plus Dr visit came to something around $ 100. We did have xrays done and that did increase the bill price but I was expecting a lot more considering all the reviews that mention this — don’t let the other reviews scare you away. Of course no one wants to shell out money but I felt this was a fair price considering the care we were given on short notice, in the evening, with a competent friendly doctor, and nice facility.
I would definitely return here if needed. I’m happy we found an emergency vet during a less traumatic scenario that I know I can trust in a real emergency.

To start off with yes Sage is expensive, I don’t know how they compare with other pet hospitals for rates but I know that for an emergency I’m going to Sage. I first went there about 3 years ago after my dog was having problems and turned out she had a disc issue in her back and required surgery. They did a marvelous job with the surgery and she made a 100% recovery. During the healing period we went there for physical therapy and they are fantastic, I strongly recommend them for PT.
My next major experience with sage is with the Oncologist for my boy, she gave us the options and we choose to not treat but are working with her to make sure he is comfortable and keep an eye on the cancer spread.
The point is there are very few places with so many specialists under one roof, you pay for quality and Sage gives you quality.

Let me start off by saying that this is my first experience taking my dog to emergency care and I was extremely nervous about a.) the cost and b.) the care.
My 2.5yo Shiba Inu was attacked by a Pit Bull at the Los Gatos Creek Dog Park, unprovoked. She had a puncture in her belly that had a slow flow of blood. So, we took her home, bathed her and cleaned up the wound. Her tail went back up and she was running around the house like normal — but better safe than sorry, we took her to Sage. When we first arrived, the ladies at the front desk were very sweet and comforting. The nurses and entire staff took quick and great care of my baby and she was treated in no time!
As far as cost, no qualms from me. Family members are priceless and you get what you pay for.

I just moved into town and wanted to meet my local cardiologist for my 15 year old pup. We had to book out the appointment a few weeks out, but that was totally fine with me since we just wanted a meet and great.
The building is BEAUTIFUL. Seriously the best vet hospital I have ever seen. Very nice staff! Me and my dog felt welcomed.
Waited in the waiting room for our tech, waited maybe a few minute and were taken into a room. Normal exam, tech was very nice and gentle with my old guy.
Dr. Markovic was amazing. I had a lot of questions — mainly because he has had heart issues for over a year and I wanted to know what to do next. She took the time to explain everything in really good detail and made sure I understood everything.
I’m so happy that I live down the street from this place, for sure will come here if I have an emergency as well.

The veterinarians are all specialists which means you may be referred to multiple Sage vets if your initial consult doesn’t have an explanation to symptoms. At $ 140 per consult appointment this can get expensive.
Actually, all their fees are high. Perhaps you get what you pay for but you pay dearly. Nevertheless, I love this place and the vets and staff are wonderful.

Dr. Sherrer is AWESOME!!! I was referred to Sage by my regular vet who was unable to get a skin infection contained. My dogs’ wound was sooo far gone that bone and tendon was showing. Initially I was upset that my vet would refer me to a place that was so expensive, but these are specialists and they know their craft. From the beginning I explained to the staff and doctor that I was on a limited budget, and that I had already spent $ 500 on treatment that rendered no results and a lot of frustration. He understood my predicament and totally worked out a treatment plan that was cost effective and didn’t leave me broke.

Yes, my initial evaluation was $ 140.
Before I left my eval, I requested a cost summary for my future appt so I would be prepared financially. The front desk person said she would call back. She never did. When they called to verify my follow-​up appt, i asked again. She said they would call back. They didnt.
Pros:
Dr Sherrer is great.
I gave Sage 5 starts and not 4 because of Dr. Sherrer. We got the results that we wanted under his care and supervision. We are definitely on the road to recovery.

I must say the Sage team from nurses, doctors and front desk are wonderful. They tried everything possible to save my dogs life but unfortunately we had to put our little one to sleep. She had surgery elsewhere and grew an infection which didn’t allow her to breathe on her own and they couldn’t get rid of it. They recommended we take her to Sage and so we did and they did everything possible and kept us in the loop every step of the way. It brings my family and I comfort to know how much they tried and how much they grew to care for Cookie. We had her for 11 years and we will miss her so much!
Upon arriving home today, there was a bouquet of beautiful flowers at our door. When bringing them in and reading the card I realized it was from Sage and their staff. It brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. Thank you Sage and staff for all that you do for the ones we love.

Our dog was diagnosed with cancer and as of today just completed surgery and radiation treatment with Dr. Shaw, Ayisha and Shannon who have all been wonderful. Despite our worse fears of radiation, they’ve kept our dog relatively comfortable and overmedicated (at our request) throughout the process. They are available ²⁴⁄₇ which means we were able to get a doctor on the phone even in the middle of the night when we discovered our dog has pulled out her IV catheter. We sent in a picture on the phone and was able to get some immediate advice and avoid a $$$ trip to the E.R.
That being said, the excellent service does come with a high price. Our dog’s surgery and radiation to date has run maybe around $ 18k with chemotherapy cost still to be determined. I don’t know if that’s the normal, but I should mention our dog is a big dog and we opted for a lower intensity /​longer treatment plan and added extra areas on her CT scan, so that could make our cost a bit more, maybe?
Before deciding to go to Sage, we Googled another option for oncology specialist vet in the San Jose area. They seemed slightly cheaper, but our regular vet advised us to go with Sage because they’ve referred patients to the other place in the past and had issues, whereas the patients referred to Sage were happy, so based on that, we went straight to Sage and did not consider other options.
I noticed the majority of negative reviews were due to costs. If price is an issue, ask for an estimate when setting an appointment and again before they take your pet inside for any services, so the final bill doesn’t come as a shock. And review all the line items on your invoices. I had some annoyances with billing such as being charged $ 17 for extra gauze in surgery, or, being charged for an extra full 2^nd day of boarding when I picked my dog up at 10am. But on the other side, what Sage charged for x-​rays and blood panels etc. were less than what our regular vet charges.
At the end of the day though, we do feel that we did get a good value for our money (I.e. having our fur kid well cared for by very smart and caring ppl). The cost was worth it for us.

The Sage team saved my dog’s life. My dog, Ketsu was hit by a car Saturday morning (hit and run). I found Ketsu laying on the street, lifeless, and drenched in his own blood. My bf and I rushed him to the closest vet, and the vet referred us to Sage.
We brought Ketsu in right away. He was in critical condition upon arrival. He suffered a broken hip and a ruptured bladder. He also lost a tremendous amount of blood. Ketsu was taken into emergency surgery. They were able to give us routine updates of his status of health. The amazing team saved my boy. (I’m tearing up while writing this). These guys are freaking awesome. ketsu is on his way to a full recovery and if it wasn’t for the sage team, I would have lost him.
