It was such a great pleasure to work with Joe and his team for our engagement and wedding photography. Joe is very easy to work with and the quality of photography he delivers is simply amazing. For our engagement photos, we took Joe and his three bags of gear up to Sonoma for a multi-stop photography trip. We were not used to posing or styling in the beginning but Joe helped us get warmed up and we ended up receiving very romantic and high quality engagement photos a week later. The process of picking the sign-in album was really neat, too. This is where Joe’s attention to detail and obsession to accuracy shines. Joe gave us a handful of test prints that he sent to his photo lab and made sure that the colors he captured and edited were correctly reproduced. For the album, Joe has access to a very high quality custom leather album maker and he gave us an option to pick from several samples. The result was very elegant and we were very proud to show our engagement photos to our family and guests on the wedding day. We had our wedding near Santa Rosa so it took a bit of preparation. Joe made sure that we had a well-planned schedule to give time for my bride and family preparation photos. Our wedding day began very early in the morning since we did both Chinese tea ceremony as well as the regular ceremony in the afternoon. To ensure proper coverage, Joe brought his team of two other photographers. Combined with the additional photographers and their gears, it looked like we were doing a movie production for the pre-wedding ceremony photos. Despite this many photographers, when the wedding ceremony began, all of the photographers seemed to disappear to us. Joe and his team skillfully sniped away shots of our special moment from carefully selected hidden places. The rest of the wedding coverage down to the last dance turned out great. The wedding day photos were phenomenal. Whenever we look at our wedding photos, they remind us of how happy we were and how beautiful our wedding was. I think our experience with Joe and his team probably reflect to the definition of journalistic photography: one that captures our special moment accurately and preserve it for many years to come. I recommend Joe for photography needs regardless of the job size. He is happiest when he is shooting and editing photographs and that shows through the quality and the friendliness he offers.

Joe has photographed my family for a couple of times now. The first time was when my son was a year old and the second time was recently for my second pregnancy. The pictures turned out really great both times. We didn’t go anywhere special, just at Los Palmas park, Steven’s Creek Trail and downtown Mountain View. We wanted to capture our everyday life, and Joe did exactly that. He made an ordinary place look beautiful. For the recent photo session, my son was almost 3 year old. Just like any toddler of this age, he runs around wild and is extremely naughty. My husband and I both play with DSRL for fun, and we know how hard it is to get our son to look in the right direction and do the right pose. Joe was very patient with our son and really got to bound with him during the photo session. In the end, our son was running towards Joe a lot and he got some really great shots. Joe also has amazing turnaround time. We’ve heard plenty of horror stories of people not getting their wedding pictures until a few months after the wedding. Joe’s turnaround is in a matter of days. We had our pictures taken Sunday evening, and got the pictures Tuesday night. That just tells you how much he really enjoys taking pictures. Joe is a truly passionate photographer and really works hard on his craft. He always holds himself to high standards when it comes to photography. I still have the pictures from our first photo session in my office, they don’t look dated at all and they always remind me how wonderful a family I have.

Joe Jamello photographed our wedding last summer, in San Francisco, and we could not be happier with his work and have had so many compliments on the photos! Before the wedding he made sure to set up calls with us to go over any questions we had, who should be in the family portraits etc., as well as good advice for us from all of the weddings he’s shot before. Joe scouted the location beforehand and, on the wedding day, when I arrived at the venue he was already there with all of his equipment set up and knew where we were shooting. It’s a wonderful but crazy day so having someone who really cared about doing a great job and who is so reliable made a huge difference! Joe captured all of our special moments with no guidance and without being intrusive. At some weddings photographers can be distracting or loud, but even in the ceremony he managed to catch the setting(it was right on the water, close to Golden Gate), a ton of different shots of us and our guests without being noticed… and afterwards I even saw a photo taken from where he had climbed a hill partway to catch another shot! That’s dedication. My husband and I love the style of the pictures. They feel natural but also glamorous(this is hard to describe but trust me, it’s hard to catch a group of people all looking natural and amazing simultaneously but he did!). Basically, after eight hours of photographing our day we have just the best way to remember it. Seriously, photos are one of the only things that continue past the day itself so while wedding planning we were anxious to find a great photographer, and feel really lucky to have found Joe, and in writing this review I hope to save another couple the stress of searching for someone.
