Great place for Ice Cream and pies. Also, they have these sandwiches there that are really tastey. One of my favorites is the Jalapeño Macaroni salad. Located in the beautiful Wingfield Plaza, the atmosphere is nostalgic and worth the trip. Very friendly people, too. I highly recommend to anyone passing through.

Stopped here on my way back from the Rim with my family. Did not want the usual fast food before swinging back onto the interstate. I’ve been through Camp Verde many times. With the emphasis on through. This is the first trip I actually made it off any of the main streets, the first was hitting a Walgreens on my way to the Rim and the next this spot on the way back. It’s located very conveniently from 260 and I-17, so a detour isn’t going to cost you much. Parking was ample and it’s located in a neat, older building that has a street facing entrance and an entrance from inside the building as well. Menu is straight forward. A variety of sandwiches in a cooler/fridge that were made earlier that day. Ham, pastrami, roast beef, turkey, etc. The sandwiches are good sized and there is a good selection of add on such as horseradish. Bags of chips and nachos are also available. There are a variety of soup options and the tomato was very good. A very solid selection of ice cream and sorbet as well. The lady who owns the place is really nice and it’s pleasant to be in her shop. The store was clean and the bathroom is a locked shared bathroom in the main building which was sparkling — which is nice when travelling with kids. They do take credit cards and it hit my statement as PayPal. As such, there is a small percentage fee on transactions. I’ll definitely make it a point to stop the next time I’m passing through and need a bite to eat or even just a quick ice cream. Was so much more enjoyable than being bogged down by the cluster of fast food immediately off the 17.

What a cute little place with friendly service! The owner(Theresa?) is a doll and runs this place all by herself; kudos to her! They have several types of ice cream and sandwiches to choose, as well as handmade pies and cakes and fresh daily handmade soup. Your taste buds will love you but your hips will hate you! LOL Just FYI(and she will tell you this) this is NOT a vegan-gluten free-vegetarian friendly joint! She piles the meat on her sandwiches and it’s an ICECREAM place for cryin out loud; of COURSE there’s dairy in it! So if you are sensitive to that, you probably won’t like this place! I had the smoked brisket sandwich on a fresh Kaiser roll with a side of macaroni salad, very tasty. And don’t even get me started on the lemon cake things, good God they were divine! Stop by, it’s worth it! They are open until 8 pm. Cheers!

We stopped in for ice cream after visiting Fort Verde. This is a cute little no frills shop on Main Street with a decent variety of Dreyer’s Ice Cream flavors and soft serve. They also serve sandwiches and homemade soups. If I’m ever in Camp Verde again, I’ll try the homemade corn bread or one of the homemade lemon cakes on display. They looked tasty!
