Beautiful grounds! We loved our stay can’t wait to come back again. Lots of trails and the creek that runs thru is very tranquil.

We just returned from a relaxing 3 night stay in the Willow cabin at Cold Springs resort. There are many fancier options for accomodations in the area, but you won’t get the friendly relaxed environment! Cold Springs had just what we needed; comfortable, clean, charming, and many options for outside seating. Our place had a porch with a good quality patio set, but there was also public benches scattered through out the property situated next to the river or the creek. Firepits and BBQ’s available for use. Dog friendly. A 2hr drive from Portland well worth the trip! The staff are helpful, available and yet respectful of privacy. The Metolius trail is an easy stroll through the property, across the river and then you have access to miles of a beautiful riverside walk. We will be back!

This place is a little slice of heaven. We have been coming here a couple of times a year for over 13 years and have never had a bad time. Our recent stay there was exceptional — the cabin was exceptionally clean and nice little details were evident of new and very caring management. Towels folded really cute, nice toiletries etc. the grounds were pristine. We usually stay here off season so crowds are not an issue. It was very busy for sure this trip in July, especially Friday night as to be expected, but all were considerate of leashing their dogs and even a kid! LOL! The cabins are well equipped although this time I was sorry I didn’t bring some extra BBQ tools. They seem to disappear from one visit to the next. If you want peace and quiet this place has it, although weekends are of course more crowded and summer is the busiest with lots of kids around, which while its very cool to see kids being kids in the outdoors, if you are looking for tranquility it may be best to avoid high season. Spring and fall are best if you want solitude and weekdays are the best any time of year. You will need to bring food, drinks, fly fishing gear, some cooking tools if you are a cook, knives especially, books etc. the resort has DVDs available, but may not be your first choice. In summer the Camp Sherman Store can provide nearly anything you need — at a price since it is the only game in town without heading into Sisters. Kokanee Café is a great little restaurant for a special night, but like the store you pay for it, and also like the store if you go off season may not be open, so check first. Great walking trails, fairly easy road biking, and a nice off road bike path if you want to stay off the road. All in all can’t wait to go back!

We stayed in the RV section. The grounds are very nice, but tight. Apparently there was a family reunion going of the owners’ family and none of them had the decency to follow any kind of normal RV park rules. Such having dogs on a leash. At least 10 big dogs were running free the whole weekend. They did their dog business everywhere, came in and out of every campsite at will, and no one called them off or cared. And then there was the noise. Kids were up past 10pm screaming and yelling, and running through the campgrounds. never once did anyone ask them to quiet down at an appropriate time that would respect others. And then came the very loud domestic family fight that permeated the camp! Sadly we won’t return here. The management gave their family free run of the place and gave no respect to the paying customers. The dogs out of hand was the biggest problem and never should have been allowed. This was a huge disappointment on what should have been a great weekend in a beautiful place.

We recently stayed here, and while the cabin was charming, it was NOT worth the extra $ 50 we were charged after the fact, with NONOTIFICATION, for not doing the dishes, making the beds, leaving the cabin spotless. This is on top of a $ 10 pet charge(we have dogs) PERPET, PERDAY(for a total of $ 40 extra dollars). We had NOIDEA that we had to leave the cabin spotless upon leaving, because none of this info was related to us by the manager. We assumed it was like staying in a hotel, where they clean the room etc for you upon leaving(and we certainly paid above and beyond hotel prices!). We also left the cabin in fine working order, nothing above and beyond the normal wear and tear of mud season with two dogs. And what was the extra $ 40 pet fee for, if not cleaning the extra dirt/hair that naturally comes from having pets? Apparently the cleaning rules were printed out and left out of the way somewhere in the cabin. This is a shoddy, negligent way to run your business. If there are rules that will result in fines, you need to take the time to go over them with your customers, not just charge them shadily after the fact. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning here, and we don’t recommend you do, either.

Stayed here in December a couple years ago for a family tree-hunting trip! It’s a nice cabin right on the river, warm and cozy with a cute little wood stove. Beautiful in the morning with frost covering the grass, and there’s a trail that leads to an adorable bridge crossing over the Metolius. Only downside: Dad made us watch Wyatt Earp.
