I was recently denied service by Sears across the street from Farr Family because the proper size tire was not installed on my wheel which was flat. I took the wheel to Farr Family and they had it fixed the next day without any problem. The guy that helped me was very straight forward and honest with his answers to the questions I asked him. I HIGHLY recommend taking your vehicle to Farr Family for any tire services you need done. Great business and fast turnaround.

I have used Farr several times and I find them to be friendly, professional and they stand behind their work. My wife and I bought sets of tires here as well as have had other mechanical work done. Recently I had a break problem and they replaced shoes and pads. the replacement did not seem to fix the problem. We brought the vehicle back and they found a defect in the pad and replaced all four instead of just one. We found after a day or two the problem came back and we brought the vehicle back and they replaced everything on all four. No Problems and no questions asked. This fixed the problem and they stood behind their work requiring no additional charge for the extra work and parts used. I will use this auto service company from now on. We also found the prices to be very reasonable.

Farr Family Tire in Camp Hill attempted to take advantage of my aunt during a state inspection. They told her three things needed replaced that did NOT fail inspection. They refused to put the inspection sticker on it and refused to refund. Took the car to two other mechanics, both said the car should pass. Presented this information to Farr. They still refused to put a sticker on and refused to refund. They also refused to show an ASE certified mechanic the«movement in the ball joints» that they claimed caused the car to fail inspection. This place will take advantage of anyone who they think doesn’t know much about cars. Avoid this garage.

I’ve been there a few times. Great customer service each time. They stand behind their guarantee. They even let me borrow one of their personal vehicles when I was in desperate need of a car during the time the work was being accomplished. I didn’t expect that. That was above and beyond what anyone should expect.

A great business with great customer service. Have bought tires here and just stopped by with air pressure issues that were promptly investigated with a friendly no charge response for the pressure issue that required more than a few minutes to investigate. As far as the tire purchase much more reasonable than my honda dealer! Will be coming back.

Just purchased a set of four used Yokohama Geolander tires for my Chrysler Town and Country. This is the second set of used tires I have purchased from Farr Family Tire. I paid $ 160 for a set of four. And that’s out the door pricing! No add ons. I would have paid at least $ 500 for a new set of tires. My first set of used Michelin tires lasted over 40,000 miles. Buying used tires is one of the great secrets out there. Of course, Farr also sells new tires as well. Guys working here are pleasant and friendly. I stopped by on a Friday to check out the selection and made an appointment to install the tires on Saturday morning. They have a very nice waiting room with a comfortable couch, lots of magazines and FIOSHDTV. I did wait about an hour before the tires got installed. The installer stopped in after about 30 minutes and apologized for the wait. Said they were slammed with work and were just starting on my van. Fortunately, I had nothing else planned for the morning. I am very satisfied with Farr. Great used tire values. Installers and service people are friendly and helpful. And it’s always great to support a family run business in the area.

This is my first non-restaurant review. I am so glad to have found this place that I just had to share my comments. I ordered a new set of tires from Tire Rack(another non-restaurant review I’ll have to write). During the ordering process I chose an installer from Tire Rack’s list of preferred, highly-rated(by customers) installers. Rather than choosing one of the chains, I opted to select an independent shop. I like to support the little guys, particularly in today’s economy. And their rates were also among the lowest around. On Friday, July 9, 2010(the first possible day my tires might arrive from Tire Rack) I called Farr Family Tire and sure enough my tires had been delivered. I made an appointment to have them installed on the following day. Convenient! This shop is across the street from Capital City Mall in Camp Hill where Lower Allen Rd. dead-ends into Hartzdale Rd. Again, convenient. If you want to wait while your car is being serviced they have a couple of little lounge areas or you can walk over to the mall and shop or grab a bit to eat. I showed up at noon the following day, and, it being a Saturday, they were pretty busy. I dropped off my keys and gave them my cell number and went over to kill time at the mall and grab a bite. Two hours later(they close at 2:00pm on Saturdays) my new tires were mounted and balanced As I was paying my bill, I got to talking with of few of the guys there. Nice people. Friendly and laid back. Having recently moved to the area from out of state, I was asking them details about getting my driver’s license and registration and any necessary inspections. My car also needed a scheduled maintenance/oil change. I followed up with one of the guys(Zach) on the phone and he suggested I save myself both time and money and just wait until I would need to have my inspections done to do the maintenance as many of the services performed would overlap. So fast forward three weeks. I called these guys on a Monday and set up an appointment to bring my car in that Thursday(7−29−10) at lunchtime for my state inspections and scheduled maintenance/oil change. Since I was on my lunch hour, I called before bringing my car in to make sure they were running on schedule. Zach, the helpful guy I had been dealing with the past few weeks, said if I could make it 30 minutes later that would work better. That was fine with me. I dropped the car off and walked over the mall for lunch at Yummy Japan(see my review: ). One-and-a-half hours later my car was ready. One minor thing to note. This is an independent shop with just a handful of guys working there, so there is no one person in charge at the front counter full time. There is a buzzer that you can ring that is heard in the garage area, but when dropping off your car/truck and picking it up, you may have to wait awhile for someone to assist you. I will definitely be bringing my car back here for any needed servicing or repairs. They have been able to schedule me in quickly, seem to be honest and knowledgeable, and won’t rip you off. I checked around at a few places when first looking to have the work done, and their pricing was definitely reasonable and affordable for the work I had done.
