Got a room on the first floor no smoking, the room smelt like there was a cigar smoked I there like 2 hours before. Went to the from the desk and they said they were in there and it dosnt Stink. Lies Hey don’t give a refund for a reason, everybody would want one! Don’t stay here!

Basic. Looked clean, but felt a little grimy, No smoke rooms get smoke stink from nearby rooms — gross and totally defeats the purpose! Had to run a/c to help clear the air, which it didn’t completely, and over chilled the room. Card swipe door locks difficult — I had to get the desk clerk to open my door, then I was reluctant to leave in case I’d never get back in. Free wifi needs security code, which wasn’t automatically provided, nor in the room info binder. Lots of hallway noise with doors opening /closing and heavy footsteps. Had considered staying in another ABVI the next night, but didn’t because of the smoke stink problem.

While on a road trip to Kansas City, a friend and I decided to stop a ways outside the city and get a cheap roadside motel in an attempt to save money. We figured America’s Best Value Inn would be on the cheap side, and we were right. $ 45/night for a room with two double beds. For the most part, it was okay. They offer a continental breakfast(including a waffle maker), and the sheets and towels were clean. However, it didn’t seem worth even the low price of $ 45. We kind of had a hunch that things would be on the… casual…side when the night desk clerk came padding out barefoot and looking a bit bewildered that we had actually chosen to stay there. After settling in, we both went to bed and both woke up about an hour later. The room was super-stuffy, so we turned on the air. The room was then so cold(even running on low) that the thin sheet and blanket provided weren’t enough to keep me from curling into the fetal position and not wanting to get out of bed. Neither of us slept more than a couple hours over the course of the night. In the morning, we discovered that one of the two shampoo packets was already used. The tub took forever to drain, and filled up nearly to bath level over the course of our showers. The breakfast was also lacking — our bagels were dry, and the waffle batter dispenser was out of cups(and the styrofoam bowls and coffee cups were too big to fit underneath). I wanted to ask a staff member if there were more cups anywhere, but there was no one at the desk or in the«lobby.» There was also no one there when we went to check out. So, yes… an okay place to stay if you’re desperate or really broke, but not equal in value to what you pay. It probably would have been worth the extra money of a better chain to get a good night’s sleep.
