Worst place ever. Food is cold and expensive. Carpet tattered up, Staff, except for Martha, are not friendly. I tripped overt their beat up carpet and only Martha and another customer helped me. The owner could care less. As the other reviews state; they owners do not want constructive criticism.

Some items good, but has gone down in past year, looks shabby and French toast was unremarkable. Used to be one of my favorites, last time I went it felt like they were barely holding it together, interior going downhill.

Owner is a self-righteous POMPOUSASS!!! We only came here, despite the owner, because the hispanic woman that use to cook every morning always did an OUTSTANDING job, was ALWAYSCONSISTENT, and properly executed customers requests. Unfortunately, she is no longer there, I can only imagine why with an owner like that. The wait staff is always pleasant.

Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from — for that matter what kind of expectations do these reviewers have? Personally we have never had a bad meal here and the service has always been down right friendly. We’ve been coming here since they changed ownership from the previous restaurant and we’ve tried just about everything on the lunch and dinner menu and we love it all. The croques are all delicious, the salads, the pizzas, the burgers and the onion soup is incredible. This last visit we were surprised with the additional booths which, yes they’re taped in places, but does that really matter?

Amazing food, friendly staff. I always try to make a stop here when I’m in the area. I recommend any of the sandwiches or burgers, they’re out of this world! Got a chance to chat with the owner. love him he’s a riot! I learned every ingredient is fresh, nothing processed and you can taste the difference. Phenomenal

Great food and prices for breakfast but the atmosphere has gone way down hill. I will still visit but disappointed with the trashy seating with tape on them

I’ll start out with the good: the food. That is it. The bad: pretty sure they forgot we were waiting for a table, service was eh after that. Also the lighting was awful. I was facing a huge window and the sun was shining in my eyes, which I normal wouldn’t mind too much but the inside of the restaurant was dark so it was blinding me but I also couldn’t see at the same time. The place also seemed very dirty. The table we were at was sticky and the booths seemed very torn up and messy. The kitchen seemed like the only people who had their ducks in a row. So if you are looking for a place with pretty good food(best country potatoes I’ve had in a while), but don’t mind novice service and dirty atmosphere and bad lighting, then you will like the place.

We were a large group that they were expecting. One(very nice) waitress, for 25 – 30 guests. By the time the last person was served, the first was finished. Literally(ick!) sticking to the gross, pealing indoor/outdoor carpet as we were saying goodbyes. Food was mediocre at best, cold, limp fries. I won’t go back.

Asked us to wait 10 minutes with open tables everywhere. We left after waiting longer than that. Rude people

Doesn’t meet expectations. 2.5 stars for staff & service, 3.5 stars for food. I know now where not to eat.

I met my beautiful wife at this restaurant and although it’s hidden back in a shopping mall area, I have been impressed with the service and delicious food every time. Food is prepared as requested in ample quantities and at reasonable price. The best part is the flavor. I highly recommend. It’s not white table cloth but you will leave satisfied.

BAD The sausage was«wild boar». The biscuits and gravy were cold and separate. The potato was unacceptable. Disappointed would be an understatement. We will never go back.

So here we go, we have all heard the expression«there is a first time for everything», today it happened to me. My wife and I decided to take a ride up to Zac Jack for a few of their warm spinach salads. This is only the second time we have been to the restaurant; however, it will definitely be our last. Upon entering the restaurant(now this is roughly 2pm) we were immediately told by a gentleman in the kitchen, who we assume is the owner, that he could not serve us. The owner simply said he was too tired to continue working on Sunday’s, yet his establishment was open. No apology or further elaboration, just we’re not serving you! This is a first, but I feel points to a business going bad. If an owner can so callously dismiss a patron that expended time and energy to come to his establishment, and does not have at least the good sense and courtesy to apologize, then he should close up shop and save us all some time. Buyer beware, this is not an owner or restaurant that cares.

I fail to understand that anyone could give this place a bad review. I’ve eaten here twice now, lunch and breakfast, and will return. This morning I enjoyed the macadamia nut French toast, and DH had the hangtown fry omelette. The French toast is prepared on brioche bread — slices were about 1.5 inches thick, custardy and creamy inside, and crunchy outside. A perfect mix of textures. DH’s omelette was beautifully presented, with a nice blend of fluffy eggs, smoked oysters, spinach, and fresh hollandaise sauce. Why four stars and not five? To me, five is superlative and hard-won. With more experience I’ll see if I’ll upgrade my rating.

I would have given this 4 stars based on food and service if it were not for the bockwurst. In all fairness though the menu explains where it’s from, not an in house item. It was really bland and greasy. I did ask the owner about it who happened to be our server. She was very sweet and my girlfriend and I had a nice conversation with her. The rest of the breakfast was delicious. The eggs were just the way I like them. Fluffy and soft. Mlady said the omelet was delicious. Their prices are very reasonable. For those looking for gluten free pizza, they DONOT charge extra for gluten free pizza dough. We’ve gone to so many places and they charge extra for gluten free dough. I’ll return here for sure, so many items on the menu I would like to try. I’m not taking any stars away after going through the chef/owners responses to reviews. But after seeing his rants I’ve made the decision not to return. He reminds me of the Amy’s baking company episode on kitchen nightmares. And if you call me a hater on Unilocal you better do your due diligence and read my reviews because they are all fair. Even my review of your place was fair but I won’t support an owner/chef with your attitude and disrespect for your customers and town.

My wife and I popped in here last night for a glass of wine and a snack. We were promptly seated in the bar area, given a menu and drink order taken. As wine arrives we decide on the OVENROASTED Stuffed Artichoke and the Olive Plate. Wine good, service attentive. Everything going as planned. That is, until the food arrived. Not sure how something described as OVENROASTED could ever be placed on a table ice cold, but that Artichoke was a cold mess. Not only was it cold, but what was up with that stuffing? Here’s the description of the dish as read in the menu: Stuffed Artichoke — Halved artichoke stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes, capers, fresh herbs, and cubed sourdough bread. Roasted in our pizza oven and served with a lemon aioli and Meyer lemon vinaigrette. Yummy right? Um, no. What we received was an over cooked, mashy artichoke with soggy chunks of sourdough bread on top. No sign of caper or sun dried tomato and the lemon«aioli» was basically a blob of flavored mayo. From preparation to execution to plating this was a complete miss. The olives were manageable, but seemed to be «house cured» in nothing more than olive oil. I missed the aromatic herbs element. Our server was kind enough to remove the artichoke from our immediate sight line and our bill. Service was friendly and attentive. Just not sure I can get over the cold, soggy artichoke soon enough to give this place another shot.

Ambitious menu everything looks great! But… If it’s cold food, your wasting your time and my money. I feel for the owner… Time to scrap this one from the ground up and start over. Staff is all well groomed and friendly but sorely lacking an efficient service system. Take the blue cheese off the menu or serve a proper blue cheese. I should have read all the reviews first. To the owner; you have great feedback from patrons… What you do with that information is up to you. Get offended and make excuses or get BETTER. There are too many other choices for my dining dollar. Best of Luck to ya

I wish i could give it no stars. For a Thursday morning, it was not very packed. I ordered a 3 egg omelet with veggies and havarti cheese. All they offer is biscuits or sourdough bread –no wheat, rye, or English Muffin. I sat down with four other people and our order took a while. Finally, our order came out. Decent amount of food and it looked appetizing. Three bites in is as far as I got. The omelet is served as egg wrapped with veggies. I found that odd, but when I found a hair in the veggies, I was done! The server was polite and applogized, but I’m not inclined to try anything else. I asked the server about their omelets(do they make them with the veggies in the egg mix?) He said, «No, that’s how they come.» My hudband had the coconut french toast and he liked it.
