Some items are definitely a bit kitschy, but others, like the jewelry boxes, are stunningly beautiful. I loved the tiny«secret boxes»: at around $ 10, they’d make a great present for a kid or anyone who likes small things. They also carry Enrico food-grade wood products, which would be great for housewarming presents and the like. As you would expect from a harborside gift shop, the prices are slightly high. Most of the items are good quality, so it’s worth it, but if you’re a cheapskate like me you might balk at a few things. When I was here they were having a post-Christmas sale where right before you pay, you pick a star out of a jar by the counter and the color of the star determines your discount. So everything was at least 10% off, which was cool. They could have done a bit better job advertising/explaining the sale since I didn’t realize that everything in the store was included. Anyway, Once a Tree is a great place to stop for gifts or to spruce(ha) up your own home.

This is a very lovely gift store on Main Street in Camden. It’s not the gift store where you find the Maine t-shirt or hat but the gift store with local made gifts, et al. The first half of the store is artisan wares, mostly crafted from wood and of varying prices. The second half of the store is jewelry and Knicks knacks that are unique or may be in Marshalls or Home Goods in a few months. Mostly it is a store that you should absolutely walk through. It is a good shopping experience.

Once A Tree is a gift shop in Camden that’s so nice I actually bought something there! It’s a present for my sister so I don’t want to say what it is, but she’s hard to buy for and I think she’ll like it. For what it’s worth, I thought everybody working in the store was really friendly.

I wouldn’t normally write a review for a store in a touristy town, but I felt that this one deserved one because it stands out amongst the other chotchke shops in Camden. A great place where you can find all kinds of handmade wooden treasures at pretty reasonable prices. We ended up getting quite a few gifts while we went here.

I love these kind of stores. By the name, I had no idea what the store would be about and I was even hesitant about going in, but then once i walked in and saw so many wood objects, I realized the name was very suiting. They had so many cute items in this store(sorta like a Hallmark store, but much more personalized and artistic). I could spend hrs in stores like this!

Once a Tree is a store that I use as a wedding present or birthday present«staple». There is always an item that fits the bill and usually for a price that I can afford. I have found great wooden cooking utensils and other wooden cooking implements that have made many a cook smile. A classic turned bowl or handmade wooden spoon are always a hit.

This is a store we visit whenever we’re in the area. It’s on a side street overlooking Camden Harbor. As you might infer from its name, much of what they sell is fine woodwork, but they also sell other objects, like hanging assemblages that feature ceramic whales or turtles in conjunction w/pieces of driftwood and shells. They sell kitchen gadgets and multiple other seductive things. I love this kind of place.
