The one redeeming feature is their salad bar. That is my savior from a semester of veggie-lacking food, readily available elsewhere at the campus fast-food favorites(Chinese food trucks, Steam pizzas, etc.). The best part is 38c /ounce and I can stuff as much chicken as I want until I have enough protein, then ladle on the carrots, olives, cucumbers, etc. to my hearts’ delight. Usually $ 5 – 6 to fill me up. Never get any of those $ 6.45 pre-packaged salads with 3 strips of chicken anymore. Compared to everything else on MIT campus this will save you from malnutrition.

The bitter, bitter cold awaiting me when I step outside of the halls of MIT in search of a decent hot lunch VS. my blood glucose levels which are dipping precipitously low due to lack of food. Who wins by keeping body and soul together when you work at MIT, need food badly but it is too cold outside to drag one’s ass out of the building? this sleek café space created by School of Architecture and Design students tucked away in the dome Simple but substantial food — grab a plate, HEAP it high with organic brown rice or some other grain, pair it up with one of their ethnic veggie or meat entrees(eggplant with garlic sauce on my particular day) and you’ve got a hearty nutritious meal for less than $ 5! They have soups, fruit, and other stuff too but stick with the big plate of rice and you’ll be set.
