I started at Rumba y Timbal with the introductory rate of 8 classes for $ 50(such a good deal!), but quickly fell in love with the studio and signed up for a membership. Rumba y Timbal is equipped with a talented staff that provide incredible training, buy beyond that I admire the friendliness and sense of community that Rumba y Timbal effortlessly offers. If you are looking to improve your dancing and meet some lovely people then this is the studio for you.

With no prior dance experience, I started taking salsa lessons at another studio through last summer and fall. While i loved my introduction to salsa, in the end, I wasn’t satisfied with my level of performance. I was guided to Rumba y Timbal late in 2015, and have been hooked ever since. The classes are challenging, and great fun. Roberto and Liliana compliment one another as a teaching team. They are very committed to giving their students every opportunity to learn, and to improve their dance skills. The moves are practiced over and over again in different combinations. In my opinion, repetition is key to correctly learning the new moves. They always make time available for questions. Roberto and Liliana make the rounds in class, dancing with all of the students. As a follower, what better way is there to learn than to feel what a strong lead should feel like? The atmosphere in the studio is very friendly and welcoming. There are many opportunities for adding and improving skills through a variety of additional classes, including styling and leader/follower classes. It is a very comprehensive approach to learning new skills, or refining existing ones. If you take classes, you will work hard, sweat, laugh, make new friends, and be able to go out social dancing. All in all, a fun and rewarding experience!

I took beginner salsa classes here last year. The instructors were great, the space was big(I’ve been to another studio that was more cramped), and the other students made it fun. Plus the teachers were flexible about people taking a makeup class if a particular date didn’t work. If it weren’t for my busy schedule, I would have taken another class there by now.

I was taking Salsa and Bachata lessons in this studio for about a year untill going back to Japan in December. I had also been having dance lessons in Tokyo. I can recommend here to people of various levels from beginners to performers in a dance competition. This studio has a dedicated spacious room near T station and sometimes holds dance socials there I loved.
