Noodle Stix

Don’t like as much as I would like to. Their food is very greasy and somewhat bland. After ordering from there once, and trying the food my instead reaction was like„ no more.
Do not recommend if you’re starving and want food asap.

Ordered two entrees and an appetizer on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm. I was surprised to learn that the $ 2 delivery fee increased by $ 1 after 3 miles (my house was just 3.1 miles form restaurant). When food arrived one hour later one of the entrees was missing (they had put two appetizers in– so maybe switched with another order or not recorded correctly when called originally?). Usually I wouldn’t make a big fuss if an order wasn’t exactly as I requested, but we were missing an entire meal. When I called back the restaurant the woman immediately recognized that she had made an error (which was refreshing), but was not very apologetic. She said she would send another order on its way. 45 minutes later I called to get an ETA. You would think that the order would get priority. ONE HOUR LATER we received our corrected order; that is TWO HOURS after our original order. By that time the dish that was delivered correctly was already cold and soggy. The delivery man, although I recognize it was not his fault, did not apologize. On the corrected dish there was a bill stapled, which showed the total charges for our order. I was SHOCKED that nothing was deducted from the bill– not even the $ 3 delivery fee or the dish that was incorrect. The food was OK but just OK. I won’t be ordered from here again mainly based on bad customer service.

I just moved to Watertown and I was looking for a fast, cheap, and good food to deliver us food on our moving day. This place was great, took them 20 – 25 minutes when the guy was knocking at our door with our food. The taste was good, quality great, the price was right. I will keep ordering Chinese from them.

This place is great. I’m surprised at the awful reviews, I don’t understand why people are expecting gourmet food at a takeout joint? For what it is, noodle stix offers really cheap food and fast delivery. Pretty awesome cheap food

Noodle Stix was on point with my expectations — looking for quick, standard Chinese takeout. I had veggie lo mein, egg rolls and hot and sour soup. Everything tasted good, I was stuffed and I have leftovers for tomorrow!
I ordered ahead and picked up about 15 – 20 mins later. The lady working at the counter was nice and friendly. I will not hesitate to order from here next time a Chinese takeout craving hits!

I can order from here everyday. Their vegetarian spring rolls are mouth watering and so addicting! I love the vegetables from their vegetarian section. They bok choy is expertly prepared. The right amount of garlic and salt. I have tried over and over to make bok choy like noodle stix and it never comes out as good! I always get my food within 30 minutes and the order is always right!

I did not check the Unilocal reviews before coming here. That was a mistake. I had a craving for Chinese food the other night and I saw this place driving by so I thought I’d give them a try. When I first walked in I was not impressed, but hey, looks aren’t everything. Its a very small place with a takeout counter and two tables. I was hopeful though, thinking maybe they put all their energy into the food rather than the décor. The lady at the counter completely ignored me as she was on the phone when I walked in. A bit annoying. The true test though is the food. I had the chicken pad Thai and steamed pork buns. The Pad Thai was so-​so. It was heavy on the noodles and and light on everything else, including flavor. The steamed pork buns were very small and spilled some kind of broth when you stuck a fork in them. They were unlike any pork buns I’ve had in the past and I didn’t really care for them. Overall, I will not be rushing back to noodle stix anytime soon.

Close to my house. It was a quick 10 minute wait. I got amazing dumplings that i saw them hand making behind the register. It’s a no frills place– rather not eat there — but the food was really delicious! not greasy and a great portion. if you’re in the mood to stuff yourself with standard chinese food options then def grab it to go here.

This place is about 5 minutes from my office and with limited lunch options around, I figured why not, despite the generally negative reviews. Now usually I find Unilocal reviews to be pretty indicative of the quality/​experience but in this case, I have to disagree. I went in, ordered a chicken lo mein and my food was ready in about 10 minutes. Portion size was good for the price (7 $ for a lunch special) and came with crab rangoon which was delicious. The main dish was also pretty good. Not mindblowing but exactly what I’d expect lo mein to taste like. The only reason that I’m taking one star off is that this is truly a take-​out place. There were 2 booths in the «restaurant» but the atmosphere was dingy and depressing. I feel like some take out places at least make an attempt to decorate. Noodlestix did not. Summary: solid lunch option if you’re in the area.

We were sorely disappointed with the staple Chinese food item of beef teriyaki, boneless ribs and pork fried rice. If you can’t get that right you make get as well not try. Don’t even get me started on the Egg Foo Young! Overall, not a lot of flavor.

Bad first experience. Ordered a chicken lo mein and veg lo mein to takeout.
Generous portions, but miserly with the chicken /​vegetable, had to hunt for pieces. Also bland.
And they could’ve sprung for one more fortune cookie — we got just one :(

Ordered them for lunch delivery recently during a weekday through Foodler. Food comes quickly and hot. I find that they have fresher veggies than many local Chinese food delivery places. The Yu Hsiang Chicken was not as spicy as I’d had in the past. I don’t know if it’s just me getting older but I feel that places are too afraid of putting enough flavor in their foods.
Anyway, the egg roll was good, they included enough soy sauce, napkins, &tc., and I’ll definitely order their delivery again.

Why was my Pad Thai red, though?

Oh dear.
I feel a bit unfair reviewing my orange chicken, because I don’t know if that’s what was actually delivered to me. The greasy chicken came separately from its kool-​aid red sauce. The sauce tasted like water with red dye– not a hint of orange, spice, or anything. It’s possible this was sweet and sour chicken? But the sauce wasn’t sweet or sour either…
BUT they did a very good job with the hot and sour soup. Much more flavor than most that I’ve tried.
Sadly, I don’t think the soup alone would convince to try this place again. It was pretty awful.

I am so done with this place.
The first time I ordered from them they took over an hour and a half to deliver my bland lukewarm food, though I was only a 5 minute drive away. But I gave them a pass because it was Valentine’s Day so I figured they were really busy.
The next few times I ordered from them they were fast and the food was hot, even if everything was sort of mediocre tasting. (bland beef teriyaki, veggie lo mein with hardly any veggies that only tasted like garlic, etc) Even though they weren’t anything special, they are nearby so if there weren’t better options, I’d order.
Then tonight I found a hair INSIDE my dumpling when I bit into it. Disgusting. Done.

I saw this place only had three stars and I am baffled. It deserves 4.5. Everytime I order the food is promptly delivered (he climbs five flights of stairs to bring it to me. I know, I’m horrible), and it’s SO GOOD.
It seems like there’s three levels of Chinese food. Dirt cheap takeout, fancy gourmet Chinese food, and then THIS. It’s right in the middle of those two. I love the shrimp and the dumplings and would order here every chance I could if I were invincible to fat.

We ordered from here before reading the reviews, and once I did, I was a little bit worried, but the food did not disappoint!
Our delivery DID take about 2 hours as others said and for the amount of places that deliver much faster, I was not impressed. It is hard to tell if that is typical since it was during Thanksgiving week, and the weather and traffic were already beginning to be an issue, but it did not win any points with me.
However, once the food did arrive, it was pretty good. The stand outs were the won ton soup and the boneless spare ribs. The broth of the soup as others mentioned was a bit spicy and had very rich flavor and delicious wontons. The appetizer order of spare ribs was huge and looked like the ribs had come from a BBQ place! The boyfriend was very impressed and barely had room for his entrée.
The egg rolls were also legit, and good sized, not the typical flimsy take out egg rolls.
My entrée of General Gao’s Tofu, was a little underwhelming, and sort of gloopy with lifeless broccoli, but I ate it for breakfast the next day and the flavor was even better! The boy got the Dragon & phoenix that was also good for more than one meal.
I think if we planned in advance and weren’t starving like we were this night, we would order again. I’m obsessed with the soup, but for quick chinese takeout I would look elsewhere!

Hmmm… interesting reviews… I would have to give this place 5 stars though!

CHINESE DELIVERY FOOD EVER! And they only were 5 minutes late… it was worth it…
The soup was spicy enough to eat, wonderful taste, cleared my cold up and I could smell again! lol The noodles were sooooo delicious, just the right amount.
DEFINITELY ordering from this place again!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD NEVER AGAIN.
I ordered from this place last night on Foodler, and I would NEVER order from them again.
I placed my order with no problem through the website. Two hours later I call the restaurant and they tell me the driver is lost. Five minutes after that, I hear my roommate scream — THE DELIVERY GUY HAD OPENED THE FRONT DOOR AND WALKED THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR, UP OUR INTERIOR STAIRS, DOWN THE FRONT HALL AND RIGHT INTO THE LIVING ROOM.
What is wrong with your employees, Noodle Stix? He never rang the bell or called my cell, even though I wrote in the special instructions box to call and not ring because we were having a quiet night in and somebody here has the flu. SHEEEESH.
The food was awful, too. The beef and broccoli had such tough meat it was impossible to chew and flavorless to boot. There was no sauce for the dumplings, the soup broke open in the bag, no chopsticks or condiments, and to top if all off, you forgot my dinner. This is the WORST Chinese place in Boston. I would never order from them again and I would strongly discourage others from doing so, either.
