Graymist Studio & Shop

This is the place where I drop by for day-​dreaming during lunch time (lunch at Village Kitchen across the street) and browse unique things that you won’t find in regular gift shops ;) Each item has original kicks and ideas, that would make you feel very special (when you own it). I went back three times to make up my mind to buy Tiffany-​color leather wallet with honeycomb-​shaped card inserts. Oh, and things here are limited and usually not in large stock, so you better browse around frequently. Thanksgiving sale is coming and you should go early to get better deal.

I had never heard of Nantucket Baskets before coming to this store, but now I can see what all the fuss is about. They have antique baskets for sale, and also some created by the owner, which I think are just part of their display. These Nantucket Baskets are extremely expensive, so not for everyone, but one can understand the high price when you look at the amount of amazing meticulous work that goes into them, some of them decorated with bone or ivory. So part of this store is like a small, wonderful museum.
But they also have many small, unusual items that are affordable! I ended up with an adorable Iron Mouse, that I use on my desk to hold papers in place, and a cool book on fine dining and shopping in Boston. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and I will go back for a visit as soon as Spring arrives!

I stopped in here this past weekend with my sister, nephew, and friend.
A lot of «oohs» and «ahhs» came out of us as we browsed. I think I absolutely loved every single item they were selling in this cute shop!
Tucked in the quaint Huron Village, this store offers a variety of gifts from unique cozy items (cashmere shawl that I loved!!!, cute felted slippers, cute knitted animal theme mittens)) to the adorable Shinzi Katoh containers to the beautiful Nantucket Baskets! I saw a few pre-​made baskets on display … yet too pricey for me … but that is just the nature of the real Nantucket Baskets cost! Eventually, I will get one! :)
They actually carry tools and materials to make Nantucket baskets as well as offering classes. How unique! (eventually, I would love to take a class!) They have various ivory and bone accessories to embellish the baskets … just in love with it all!
The employees at the store were very pleasant and welcoming. They actually commented that they heard our oohs and ahhs and said it is very comforting and complimenting :) hehe, I guess we’re not so discrete with our sighs!
They had acorn ornaments too! A plus in my world ~love acorns!
The store isn’t large, but definitely items of everything that I liked in the limited selection!
