David helped me file my taxes for 2014. He’s thoughtful, thorough and personable. I felt very confident in his work. After sitting down with him, it became obvious how much he knows about taxes and how good he is at coming up with strategies for his clients. I learned a lot too! He gave me guidance about the upcoming tax year and how to set myself up in the best position possible.
It was a pleasant experience all around, from his wonderful assistant Karen to David’s prompt reply to any questions I had.

David is professional and friendly. He is also very knowledgeable. I had very specific questions and circumstances that complicated my tax return and he was able to advise me on all of it.
This is in stark contrast to the person I went to last year who, though cheap, didn’t know anything except how to use TurboTax.
David is not cheap, but he is also not over priced. You get what you pay for and David provides real value to someone who recognizes that their own time is valuable and that good financial advice can save you way more than what you pay for that advice.
I am glad that I have found such a trusted financial adviser who i can turn to not only for my yearly taxes, but any other financial planning questions and services I may need.
Tip for finding his office: David is located in the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce building, but the door to his suite is around back. Turn up Clinton Street from Mass Ave and on your left you’ll see a sign on the back of the building for David Prothero. Go in the door and right up the steps.
