I have been collecting Boyd Art Glass for about 10 years and have had in total a good thousand+ of their pieces. My particular love is their chick salts and their old style kittens on pillow. My collections are complete. Each piece of Boyd Glass is handmade and once a color is poured and named it is retired so one is able to have a finite collection of a particular mould. They provide their enthusiasts with lists of the mould, color and date made as well as a distinguishing mark ensuring each item is from Boyd. Very user friendly! I have purchased from them directly many times. Sue and John have been amazingly helpful and I cannot recall having a problem with any of my orders. There have even been a few occasions when I have sent them pictures to aid me identifying a color and they have always been prompt and helpful. See? Kindness is free and makes you feel good. Handcrafted, quality American pressed glass is a dying art. Their region of the Midwest drew a large number of German immigrants who were glass artisans and have passed their skills down from generation to generation. In fact, Boyd used to be Degenhart and they still use many of the moulds that came with that purchase while introducing the next generation of collectibles. I wish I had room for all of them! You can definitely tell the difference between a quality piece of American glass and one that was knocked out by the ***load overseas. One day I hope to have the chance to go to their factory and meet these fine craftspeople in person and see one of my «Meccas.» In the meantime I have my little ladies and cats to keep me happy.
