This place is in transition. It’s more than a truck stop, less than a restaurant, but it’s a lot of things combined, as you might expect since it’s close to I-70. They had coupons in a recent mailing, so I thought I’d take a look. I wasn’t sure about the place because I’ve never seen a place by that name. There was a BP station with«Family Diner» on the building’s exterior. It’s being transitioned to Stop 1 Café with Noble Roman’s Pizza and Arby’s, as well as some traditional cooking. Besides that, there are fuel pumps out front and a convenience store to the side of the restaurant. There was a waitress when I was there, but I ordered at the counter, while I was talking to the two, friendly women. Since I like Noble Roman’s Pizza, I ordered a mini The Works pizza. I was a bit surprised when I got it because it was a bit dark. It mostly tasted good but had that over-baked taste that isn’t pleasant. The drink refills were free but the pizza and drink came to $ 7.15, which seems a bit expensive when I can go to a Noble Roman’s location and get The Works, Bread sticks with cheese dip, and a drink for about the same price. When I mentioned the darkness of the pizza, the waitress mentioned it to the two people behind the counter and they seemed to discuss it seriously, and then the male(in charge, I guess) poked the conveyor belt a couple of times and that was it. Comedy is sometimes not all that funny. The addition for Arby’s wasn’t yet open but they seem to have a drive-thru, also. Having another selection in the area will give Hagerstown and Cambridge City residents more choice.
