This little place is a true gem! The owner’s daughter showed us all the various treats baked fresh and believe me it was a tough decision which ones to choose. My husband loved the chocolate chip cookies! The lemon cookie was fantastic, consistency of a chewy ginger snap only bursting with lemon goodness instead! Our favorite was the caramel brownie, chewy, chocolate-y and absolutely delicious! All were so fresh, packaged well, and huge portions! We split everything so have plenty of treats here at home to extend the yummy fun of our vacation in Cambria! Oh yes, you will wish you could bottle the wonder-full aroma wafting from the kitchen and bring that home too!

Found this tiny little shop with wonderful cookies. The shop is in a storage unit place. They sell their cookies four in a bag. We bought four different types of cookies and they were all delicious. We will be back.

If you like healthy whole foods these are not the cookies for you. Every one has Hershey’s or some other candy in it. Plus it felt like we were getting a hard up sell to buy more the entire time we were there. We both felt kinda sick after all of the chemicals in these cookies. Won’t eat there again.

Unless a cookie is really good, I usually don’t indulge. But these cookies are over-the-top-crazy delicious! The moment you walk in the shop you’ll be surrounded in the aroma of sweet buttery doughy delights. It’s a tough choice, but I opted for a small bag of Cinnful. Perfect name for these little devils of delight! Roger Wall was a great host too as he took time to tell me their story. I lucked out with my timing because often it’s too busy for conversation. My lucky day! Order early if you plan on giving these as holiday gifts.

If you are ever in Cambria, I highly recommend Red Moose Cookie. These are some of the best cookies I have ever tasted, went there one day than returned the next day for more. Oh and they sell the cookies for a great price.

This is a cute little place that is hidden in an area that has warehouse type businesses you if you drive up and dont immediately see a shop do not panic. From the outside it looks like rental /storage units but a lot of different types of businesses conduct /sell their products from this area. Red Moose offered a variety of cookies. Lemon, Choco Chip, Peanut Butter, you know the staples. They are not bad, not out of this world, but just ok a little too white sugar sweet for my taste. This review is a little late but customer service was friendly and place was clean and brightly lit and it always feels good to support small companies.

Homemade cookies in an industrial park… do tell. This was a unique place to visit and they had signs guiding you there which were necessary. It is not a store, but part of an industrial center. The woman(owner, I suppose) was very nice and went through all the cookies with us to tell what they had for ingredients and how she came up with them. In the end we walked away with four different types. Cookies were $ 6.00 a bag(four large cookies in each) other specialty items were more, but not much more. Tasty stuff, but no samples and no bathroom so keep your water and your taste-buds in check.

This place is a HIDDEN gem… emphasis on the hidden. We saw signs all over downtown Cambria during our visit pointing us in the direction of Red Moose, only to find that it was tucked away in a warehouse area, away from all the other stores and restaurants. The search was like a mini scavenger hunt, but it was definitely worth it. The shop is very small, but they have a wide variety of interesting cookies to purchase. We tried the CINNFUL, CHOCOLATECHIP, PEANUTBUTTERDREAM, OHJOY!, and the Lemon one, in addition to PUMPKINMOOSEPIE, and PEPPERMINTPATTYFUDGEBROWNIES. These cookies were all absolutely delicious. A bit on the sweeter side, but they would pair well with coffee. The Lemon cookie was one of my favorites… it had a very robust lemon flavor. You can’t go wrong with any of the flavors… one that looked especially interesting was the Root Beer Float cookie

I love cookies. I really do. That’s why I wanted to love Red Moose. And I sort of do, but not fully. We went all out and tried five different types of cookies. We actually bought seven different bags, and when they’re $ 6 a pop, that adds up pretty quickly. Let’s start with the bad and end with the good. The pumpkin cream sandwich. My mom told me that I should have been named«Pumpkin,» because I gravitate towards anything that includes it in the list of ingredients. I love pumpkin bread, pancakes, muffins, pie… I even love it friend and in hot pot. I could eat this squash every day in all its forms without getting sick of it. That’s why I was sure this was going to be my favorite. Except… it’s not. The«cookie» itself has this odd crumbly texture, reminiscent of shortbread. It’s a bit dry and soft, and it doesn’t go well with the cream. I ate a piece of one and refused to eat anymore, and that’s a definite sign that a pumpkin dessert hasn’t been executed well. The maple cookie. Too freaking salty. It’s just a sweet cookie with a lot of salt. This was a unanimous decision from us both. Oh, Joy. It’s good, but it didn’t bring me anything as strong as joy. The boyfriend was a bigger fan than I. Again, i ate part of this and was done with the experience. Root Beer. I don’t even like root beer, but I thought this cookie was awesome. It tastes like root beer, but BETTER! I ate a bunch of these, and I’d gladly take some more. Cinnful. This was, by far, my favorite. I wanted to devour the entire bag by myself, but I was trying to hold back and share. I didn’t do the best job, however. I could become a very fat, happy woman eating these cookies every day, and for that, I give it 5-stars. Although I only liked two of our five choices, I liked those two so much that I’d go back to buy them again. I might even try another flavor we missed the first time.

I didn’t even know this place existed until one of my friends mentioned it one day. She wasn’t kidding when she said it was in some random industrial complex just outside the downtown area, ha. Just follow the signs– its worth it to stop in for some cookies. My favorite is their root beer float cookie. Like the Brown Butter Cookie Company, you will walk out spending wayyyyy too damn much on cookies. They are pretty large cookies though, to be fair.

This place is a hidden gem and the owners like to keep it this way. Thanks to Unilocal we were able to find it and after many curvy roads and handmade signs we ended up in a storage looking facility. That is where the red moose is hiding. A small screen door brought us into their kitchen and the smell of cookies surrounded us. My favorite cookie was definitely the joy. It has coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, oatmeal, nuts, and all sorts of deliciousness. They sell packages of their cookies consisting of a few of them(I think 4). So you may end up buying a few packages in order to try them all. It would be nice if they had a variety package with a few of their best sellers. Great cookies and a very friendly owner!

The Red Moose cookie co. Is out of this world! My favorites are pumpkin moose pies. If you like pumpkin then these are totally for you. They’re two perfectly not too sweet pumpkin cookies with delicious creamy brown butter cream. Oh so good. Family favorites are snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, peanut butter. …ok we will be here all day because they are all amazing. If you are in need of something chocolate, Red Moose also has the best brownies. My favorite are the York peppermint patty brownies. They melt in your mouth no joke. They are slightly«crystallized» on the outside and creamy deliciousness on the inside.

A little spot tucked away in an industrial park. We bought the Oh Joy, and Nutless wonder cookies. They came in a bag of 4 for $ 6. Both flavors were very good, and worth the $ 1.50 each price tag. My only issues is that you have to buy 4 cookies of the same flavor. I would have loved to try some of the different flavors, but $ 12 was enough to spend in one visit. I wished we could have mixed it up. We’ll be back to try some of the other intriguing flavors.

Delicious cookies in a very unusual location. Not the cheapest cookies around, but the flavors sure do make up for them. We devoured all the cookies we bought on the way up to Monterey.

Dropped in to get cookies while staying in Cambria to participate in the Best Buddies Challenge at Hearst Castle. Had a great chat with Roger the proprietor baker. His congeniality alone deserves the 5 stars. Bought Roger’s fav Peanut Butter Dream, Lemon Moose, Root Beer Float and The Naughty Rod. If everything is as good as the Peanut Butter Dream, then definitely 5 stars. Can’t wait to try them with a frosty glass of almond milk!

Great cookies! The oatmeal with toffee chips cookies are about the best cookie I have ever eaten. Awesome. The young woman who helped us was awesome and friendly and knowledgeable. The woman who«finally’ took our money had been busy gossiping with a woman for some time while we looked at the options and appeared a little disappointed when we were ready to purchase as it cut short her bull session… she began engaging us in a different(long) conversation(yes, we have been there before etc etc etc etc) but, we had other things to attend to… so we finally asked«how much?» and made our purchase. Really nice folks! The store is difficult to find, the purchase process is slow(compare it to the cookie place in cayucos!) but, the cookies are very very very good. Worth it for the oatmeal cookies(and the peanut butter too!)

Whomever is giving this place less than 5 stars is cruel and unusual. Red moose cookies are the absolute best. I have ever eaten. Ever. Even by my grandmothers. And that, that is saying something. These cookies are soft, huge, and phenomenal. The man who owns this place is the nicest, most genuine proud parent of this lovely company. No website, but a phone number and email address The location is WEIRD. In fact, the hubs refused to drive me there at first. Yes, it is in the storage units. Just go. Eat cookies Be happy

Stopped by this Easter weekend. Truly loved it. Kids had a great time listening to grandma Karen talk about all the different kinds of cookies she bakes, and the wholesome ingredients she uses to make the best tasting cookies ever. Highly recommended. Not to miss if you are stopping by in Cambria.
