«Dive Bar» seems to be a term applied to a slightly seedy local bar that caters to a younger crowd with a funky motif. Mozzi’s seems to fill the bill to a «T», but back in the day, when it was Camozzi’s, it was like several other bars on the Central Coast like Happy Jacks(now HJ’s Saloon) in Morro Bay, and Paul’s Place(now The Old Cayucos Tavern) in Cayucos. They were places where local ranchers and fishermen hung out, had a Burgie and a shot of Early Times, and occasionally fought. Now they have old west murals and paintings on the wall and play on their historical roots as the«local hangout», catering to a tourist crowd even though locals still come there because, well, there’s noplace else to go. All that being said, it serves its purpose very well.
