We were driving down to San Simeon to see the castle(which I had never seen) and followed Google maps to get us to our hotel. Unfortunately, the directions it gave us were in fact quite wrong. They were off by more than 25 miles and at least 2 hours. That’s a story for another time. So, while we were driving around and around we called Moonstone Day Spa to see if we could get a massage after(if ever) we landed at our hotel. Initially we thought it would be around 6 that we could get the rub. Turns out they could stay late and would see us at 7pm. So nice!!! Especially since we didn’t land at our hotel until after 6pm. Dave and Honey were a masseuse couple and they I guess work independently out of Moonstone, with their thing called Cambria Massage. I really don’t know the logistics of how they go together, but I do know that Dave gave me my first hot stone massage and it was wonderful. My friend was very happy with Honey and the hot stone massage she got from her, but I can only deliver first hand my experience with Dave. He was very professional and soft spoken, a calming vibe, they take a personal history and ask what you want worked on. His hands were strong and gentle where they needed to be and harder where they needed to be. He wasn’t overly chatty, and answered any questions I had. The stones they use are jade and they hold heat nicely, they are also really smooth and felt great as he rubbed my body with them. When we left my aches and pains from life and 6 hours of sitting in a car were eliminated, so we went out for dinner afterwards. If/when I go down that way again I will pass through here again.

We loved the serene garden setting. Massages were very relaxing. My boyfriend loved the hot stone massage but it didn’t do as much for me as I thought it would.
