Whenever I go, it is over crowded(parking lot and in the store) and the workers either can’t understand/speak English or are unwilling to help. Plus the cashiers are rude and impatient. Otherwise, I like the good prices, their selection of West Indian products, and the location(it’s the only supermarket that’s in walking distance of the area). What I like most are the prices for fruits, their fresh rolls, and the seafood selection.

I don’t really shop here anymore, the few items I was coming here for, mainly veggies, didnt look fresh the last time I was here. I was getting a bit frustrated, everything looked old. Their cilantro is always full of dirt, I don’t even want to touch it. So we basically just left and went to Walmart instead, but this is the only place I’ve seen carrying purple potatoes, and it’s cheap. It’s healthier than your average potato, antioxidants. Bolthouse is also cheap, but Im not going to come all the way here for a couple of gallons of juice. I don’t have any issues with how crowded it gets, it’s really not too bad. Prices are low though I can only comment on fruits & veggies, but they don’t carry organic items and I’m hooked on Trader Joes so I don’t think I’ll return.

Although my dad shops here often to purchase a product he wouldn’t find in Pathmark or King Kullen… this place is always looking like the Bronx Zoo…½ the workers don’t speak Spanish or they are always trying to lust after you… ewwwwww…but I guess why would I expect much from a market ehhhhh

Though I had moved from Queens and now live in Suffolk County, I make it a must at least once a month to go food shopping at Farmbria Food Center, the reason is quite simple I can can find anything and everything to prepare my Caribbean dishes, this is really a great place to find all the ingredients that you actually need .The service itself is definitely left to be desired because no one knows the answer when you have a question, otherwise as long as you do not go there during the Holiday Season like Christmas, New Year s Thanksgiving or Easter you should be okay as far as time being spent for your shopping needs. Oh another drawback I call their parking lot an Horror, you need to always be extra extra careful otherwise you might find yourself a subject of an accident. What can I say I will keep on going but simply and definitely it will always be a weekday affair between Farmbria and I.

This is a great place to find all the ingredients for West Indian dishes. Majority of the time it is extremely busy. Pushing a shopping cart around the isles of Farmbria can be the equivalent of driving around New York City streets, pure chaos. Speeders who forget they are in the confines of a supermarket, slow pokes leaving a wake of destruction behind them, the undecided and confused who are oblivious to the fact that their cart is colliding with human flesh and can’t decide which direction they want to go. Staff helpfulness and friendliness depends on who you get. The three star is for the convenience of finding everything in this location and the reasonable prices. If you are a bargain shopper like me who loves a good sale watch you receipts closely they have a tendency to have things listed on sale and item will scan at regular price at the register.

Let’s face it people… we all come here for the prices and Caribbean food selections. Never EVER come here New Years Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Easter Eve, Momma’s Eve, take your child to school day eve(you get the drift), weekends, and shipping day(weds and fridays) because you will get ran over(I promise you) I would have given this place 2 stars a few months back but with the renovations… this place has surely upgraded a tad bit. If you don’t have a car, there’s an assembly line of chouffers waiting right outside the door as you exit. If you do drive, still there will be an assembly line waiting for you too begging to drive you home. I have to say… you folks from Miami, if you’ve heard of Presidente supermarket on Dixie hwy, this is it in NY form.

It’s ok to shop at, large grocery store with a moderate selection of items. Honestly one of the few reasons I patron the store is for the small yet affordable selection of American and Latin items that they do carry. They mainly cater to those from the Caribbean islands. Recently they started carrying items that I otherwise would have to go into parts of North Queens(Bayside, Astoria, Flushing) to get, such as Talenti gelato and various cold cuts and cheeses of a more higher quality. Overall it’s of some convenience, depending on who you are. Just watch out for the attitudes of your fellow shoppers. They tend to get annoying and rude during the weekend and holidays. The employees are friendly though, so it’s a trade off.

This store is open everyday. It is great if you live in the neighborhood and need a product at the last minute. They saved the day for me Christmas Day!

I really hate shopping here due to the parking lot and crazy shoppers! The best time to go shopping is in the evening because it’s less crowded and the parking lot isn’t a death trap! So happy they remodel so it’s more spacious to shop! However this a very good place to shop for fruits and veggies! They have an array of fruits and veggies from all over the world which is very cool! They also sell other products from around the world! Their customer service is a hit and miss!!!

I have a love hate relationship with this place. Definitely get the best fruits, vegetables and meats at a good price but it really is like little Haiti in that place. I’m always expecting like a pack of goats to cross my path when I’m in there. The lines can also be absurd, I don’t go on the weekends and that parking lot is a ZOO, a complete sh*t show… Im happy with my stuff when I get home but I cry and suck my teeth the entire time im in there

Decided to make a trip to Farmbria for the first time with my three kids! LOL! It was a JUNGLE between 1pm-2pm on a Wednesday(Spring Break/Passover week). The produce was pretty well priced. Some items: a bag of mixed peppers for $ 1.99, scallion 6 bunches for $ 1.00, onions 2lbs for $ 3.00 and frozen breadfruit but a limited choice in canned coconut milk. Take all major cards incl. AM-EX. Lines were bearable and moved OK. The parking lot was large but packed, so I parked on a residential street. Next time, as other reviewers suggested I’ll go first thing in the morning, without my kids.

I hate coming here because it’s always crowded starting in the parking lot. Jesus! You can barely get in or out. You’re better off parking on the street. Now when you get inside it’s a mad house. People are running you over, bumping into you or running up behind you with their carts. It’s scary. I gave it 4 stars because it is a great place to find all the ingredients you need(if yo ulive in Queens) to prepare a Carribbean meal. They have everything and the prices are great prices too! You will end up buying more than you intended to on your first visit there. Just have your guard up when you go.

Spend your money elsewhere. This supermarket is in the habit of changing prices when you get to the cashier. When you call their attention to the error, they dont do what honest business places do and honor the price, instead they merely tell you that’s not the price and if you like it you get or you lose. They bank on people not noticing. The parking lot is way too congested, my car even got scratched there. I came back to the car from shopping and there was a nice scratch on the back bumper on the left side. It is also way too crowded inside and a lot of there veggies are not fresh. I for one has decided not to give them any more chances to fix these issues. I will take my business to the Associate up the road, or go to Pathmark. The prices are cheaper at those stores and you aren’t getting robbed blind.

despite the below comments… I love Farmbria yes its always crowded and the parking can be somewhat“challenging“but who doesn’t love a challenge? lol(I park on the street) But ask yourselves Why is Farmbria always crowded? because they have good produce and foods(mind you an extensive selection of ethnic foods as well) very reasonable priced!!! As for the area being ghetto I disagree!

This grocery store has a very good selection of international foods. Asian, Caribbean, Latin foods they have it. Being able to buy all of these items along with your standard groceries is very convenient. The produce and meat are also usually fresh. It the line are long during peak times and the parking lot always seems to be packed but it’s a great to have a place like this in our community.

The West Indian community has limited options when it comes to shopping for those authentic items needed for Caribbean meals. You either go to a major chain where no one knows what a plantain is or go to a 24 hour fruit stand where nothing is fresh. Farmbria combines an extensive Caribbean selection and the local feel of the fruit stand. That is the problem!(or a positive depending on your perspective.). There are plenty of places that sell these ingredients but Farmbria has a better selection than any other place in Queens. If you want to buy Caribbean, you are forced to go to Farmbria. The place is packed because everyone goes there. Farmbria can no longer successfully accommodate the demand. Parking, checking out or even navigating through the isles will be difficult. If you are looking for something that every other supermarket in the United States has,(pasta, smoked salmon, etc.) this place is not for you. If you are looking for anything West Indian and live in Queens, you have no other option!

This is a perpetually busy, overly crowded, messy, but reasonably priced supermarket, one of the few in the area. While it does specialize in West Indian food products, they do have a very large selection of products that are reasonably priced. The aisles are tiny, and the lanes are ridiculous. Patrons ignore logic when it comes to queuing up, and it’s not unusual for someone with a full shopping cart full of items to take up space in the express checkout line. Best time to shop is very early in the morning when the store first opens. After that, it’s too crowded.
